Introduction:
The report is a discussion on managing people and organization is respect to a specific
incident of life and its analysis with the help of four functions of management. There are also
discussion on alternative options and strategies in dealing with the situation.
Selected Incident:
The Abraham’s Grocery Store faced growing dissatisfaction amongst its customers due to
lack of co-ordination and conflict between the managers of the meat, produce and the store
managers (Samson & Daft 2015).
Analysis Using Four Management Function:
As a consultant, I have tried to improve the scenario of the grocery store with the help of
four management functions described as follows (Byrnes, 2014).:
Planning: For improving the situation of the store, I planned for reorganization where
allowed all the departmental managers reported only to the store manager that was not the case
previously
Organizing: I have tried organizing the store through maintenance of a relationship
between store managers and the specialist of the districts in matters of communication and
coordination.
Leading: To improve the situation of the Grocery Store, I tried assigning the leadership
role to the store managers for the better management of the stores.

Controlling: I tried to implement this management function by assigning required
responsibilities to the entire department and the store managers.
Possible Alternative Options/ Strategies:
These include (Kobersy et al., 2015):
By using analytical techniques
By preparing oneself for dealing with multiple outcome
Finding and relying on predictable situational elements
By focusing on input evaluation of the initiatives
By remaining agile and striving to quickly respond
By cultivating the reputation of extreme trust
Conclusion:
The report concluded by throwing a light on the possible alternative strategies/ options
for dealing with an adverse situation. There are also focuses on how the four management
functions used for dealing with the situation.
