difference in one’s lives and to make employees comfortable in the organization
induction is much needed (Dragomiroiu and Mihai, 2014).
Induction is the process of welcoming the employees in the organization and providing
them the basic information which can help them in settling down in the organization.
The main objectives of the induction are as follows:

Training helps new employees to understand the concept of working and their job role in
the company. Training acts as a base for the employees at that moment they
understand the working environment and other aspects of the company which will be
beneficial in the long run. Training and development helps in retaining the best people
and through this we get the idea to invest in the development of those people. In Coco-
cola training and development has huge importance and as they consider this very
seriously (Frost, 2016). Over the years it has been observed that coco-cola is investing
in the area of business performance also they put emphasis on developing employee
development plans and considering the talent of management and organizing activities
related to this.
The training and development programs include learning, coaching, and taking
feedback from the employees in timely manner to initiate the improvement in those
areas. Coco-cola put emphasis that every employee should have proper resources
which can help them in shaping their career. Coco-cola main aim to be termed as “a
great place to work” where people can do best in their career and are also motivated to
do their best (Parris and Peachey, 2013).
There are numerous challenges arises in the process of training and developments in
coco-cola are as follows:
1. Training effectiveness- To measure the effectiveness of training it is required to
have quantitative assessment which helps in measuring the impact of training
programs in the organization. The main challenges arise on which metrics they
measure the effectiveness and also initiating the post training assessments.
Through these company can operate for future operations.
2. Regular training- In the process of regular training coco-cola is facing
challenges in the process of limitations, cost incurred in the training process,
barriers in language and other factors.
3. Adoption of training to Millennial: As we have seen these days every
youngster is drawn towards the technology to do their work but they forgot some
skills are cannot fulfill with the technology. These skills are communication, public

relations etc. These things cannot be properly done with the training as it is
requires the face to face involvement instead of technology.
4. Employee engagement- The success of every organization depends upon the
employees and their motivation towards the organization as they help business
to meet the goals and objectives of the organization. There are different levels of
employee engagement which have different importance in every field which are
cognitive, emotional and behavioral. The working of these three at same place is
required and essential as if they are not will be knowledge gap, no proper
learning and no commitment towards the training and development.
To overcome these challenges it requires effective steps by the Coco-Cola company
during their business. The proper coordination and commitment towards work and at the
same time employee needs are fulfilling will lead to achievement of desired goals and
objectives.

TASK 3 Motivational Theories.
The motivational theories which are adopted by the Coca-Cola Company are briefly
explained in regards with the Clayton Alderfer’s ERG theory which is explained below:
In the ERG theory initially the main focus is on existence needs of the company.
Secondly, the focus is bases on the relatedness of needs in the company. Lastly, it
focuses on the development requirements which are required in the company. The
employee’s requirements which are working in the coco cola company are same as the
physiological impact on the employees who are working in the company. The worker
always has numerous desires when they are working in the company and certain level
of expectations from the organization. The Coco-cola company has various programs
which support this process (Parris, and Peachey,2013).
The company also offers programs which are related to the cultural backgrounds and
this contributes towards the personal and professional development at the same time.
The coco cola company motivates their employee by providing them performance linked
incentives and bonus on occasional purposes.
The coca-cola company well being is attained each and every day as company employs
those staff who have creative or innovative ideas in order to achieve the organizational
goals and objectives.
The Coca-cola is the highest paying employee company which in return motivates
employees. This strategy retains the maximum employees in the company and has the
desired outcomes from the employees. The employee gets motivated when they are
having other benefits from the company. The major benefit which coco-cola employs
has 401k plan in this employees invest some amount of money so that in future they
can have savings. The coca-cola company also offers medical benefits to employees for
them and their families’ betterment.
The coco-cola motivates their employees by boosting their morale in the form of
employee forum. This employee forum is a program which allows the employee to
create the group with those employees who have same interest as yours and they can

meet once in a week and have related discussions. The forum is best way to maintain
the employees’ interest in the company for longer run.
Another which is used by the Coca-Cola Company to motivate their employees is
Leadership theory which is briefly explained below:
Leadership is mixture of various roles and responsibilities. Leadership also means the
capability to motivate the employees when they are criticizing the things when the
situation is not under control or anything wrong is happening in the company. It has
been observed that the people are more attracted towards the negative things or
activities easily and they get support over these things which lead to discussion. At the
time of these discussions all the positive things are gone into the trash as at that
moment of time employee speaking about their issues and frustration which they are
holding from a long time (Tyler and Brunner, 2014).
Coca-Cola has policy of ignoring negative employee and managers as negativity kills
the working environment also at the same time it create impact in the performance of
the company. Coca-Cola takes details of all the data of managers and manages them in
proper way. Coca-Cola ensures manager should show positive attitude and gratitude
towards the employees. Coca-Cola maintains the upper level of motivation and ethics at
the work place because they feel good and their aim is to make coco-cola”a great place
to work”. The positive attitude in the management provides proper attention at the work
place and employee turnover is increased.
The respect is a two way thing when you give it then only you can have it. The good
manager receives respect at every level in the organization and everyone seeks for
your advice or guidance before commencing any operation in the organization. Coca-
Cola also believes in “Open Door policy” which has important impact and every
manager should listen to that policy. In Coca-Cola company manager are required to
keep employees in loop for the meetings so that they can have proper knowledge
regarding the affairs of the company. In this way employees also feel equal to other
members of the company and are always motivated to work.

Task 4: Individual behavior at work and effective teamwork.
The team work always generates more results as compared to individual behavior.
When a person is individual performance he is always thinking about himself or how he
can achieve goals and objectives but to succeed in life it requires the support from other
people towards the achievement of goals and objectives in the longer run. Every
individual brings his or her unique talent and ideas which helps in working everyday to
achieve the Coca-Cola system to achieve their goals and which are outlined in their
2020 vision. Employment engagement drives more success rather than a individual
working in the company. Coca-Cola ensures the associates are happy, healthy and are
equally treated in the organization which in return provides maximum results in the
organization.
Coca-cola operates the business worldwide and deals in multiple markets which require
dealing with multiple people, diverse culture and markets. The people are creating
innovative and new ideas to increase the business in diverse markets. The Coca-cola
focus on creating the open market environment where people are communicating
openly and leveraging innovative ideas with other associates around the world. The
open communication helps in providing valuable information, increases the awareness
among people, promotes business strategies, looking for opportunities and strengths
and focuses on the opinions of employees.
Coca-Cola also focus on rewarding and developing employees by compensating and
providing them benefit packages which are best and benefit them in one way or the
another. The Coca-Cola also offers numerous opportunities to associates and even they
look after their performance and also contribute in their education too.
