Introduction
Managing people is the process of managing and handling the people so as to enhance
their performance effectively, it involves offering them required training so as to improve their
skills effectively and efficiently and also motivating them towards achieving desired goals and
objectives effectively. Managing people plays an essential role in the business organisation in
order enhance the overall performance of the business organisation and also goals and objectives
of the company can be achieved effectively. This report is a self reflected analysis which
effectively reflect what all the students have learned in the main areas of the management,
leadership and HRM effectively.
Main Body
This is a self reflection report which includes the learning of the students in various areas
during their graduation classes, the learning from the various areas includes the management,
leadership and HRM. During the classes I have gained various knowledge regarding the areas
such as management, leadership and Human resource management. I have learned that all these
three areas plays an essential role in the overall growth and development of the students, gaining
knowledge helps the students in their further career development also. Through the knowledge of
all these three areas helps students to analyse their future career profession interest and also helps
them to understand the importance and essential of the management, leadership and human
resource management effectively. I have analysed that the management is the process of
managing the individual so as to effectively carry out the activity without any mistake and error,
it also includes the process of controlling and directing the process and activity of an individual
towards achieving desired gaols and objectives, the management is one of the most essential.
The another one is the leadership, under this I have analysed that the leadership is the
process of leading and influencing the individuals towards achieving desired goals and objectives
of the organisation, it involves continuously motivating the individual to achieving desired goals
through enhancing their performance and offering required training accordingly. I have analysed
that the leadership is one of the most essential part of any business organisation in order to lead
the people towards enhancing overall performance effectively. And the last one is the human
resource management, I have analysed that human resources management is the process of

managing and handling the human resources of the business organisation, it involves hiring the
right and skilled candidate for the right place, it involves recruiting and selecting the right and
skilled candidate and compensating them, offering required training to them in order to enhance
their performance effectively. The human resource management plays an essential role in
managing and handling the human resource through offering them required training and
motivating them towards achieving desired goals and objectives. I have learned about various
areas such as management, leadership and HRM which are considered to the major area for any
student, and essential for each student to have knowledge regarding this areas. This report will
reflect on these areas and the learning gained through these areas which also helped me to
enhance my overall performance effectively. During the first week I have learned regarding the
detailed analysis of the managing of the people, during this week I have learned that managing
people is very essential in Conclusion order to achieve desired goals and objectives and enhance
overall performance. I have also learned understanding of roles and responsibilities in the
business organisation, as clarity of roles and responsibility helps in analysing the task that is
needed to be carried out by the individual in the business organisation. In addition to this I have
also learned about the implementation of the different management and leadership functions and
the styles are delivered effectively, there are various functions of the manager which allows them
to effectively carry out the business activity, i have learned that various function of the leaders
and manager allows the clarity of roles to be carried by them and also helps in carrying out
various activity and functions effectively and efficiently. The first week was all about the
managing the people in the business organisation and how it can lead to enhancing the overall
performance of the business organisation. During the first week the main focus was on learning
about the effectiveness of managing the people and Conclusion how managing them can lead to
enhancing the over performance for the business organisation.
During my first week i have learned about the various management and leadership style,
there are different management and leadership style such as autocratic, democratic, free style
which allows the leader to behave in a certain way. I have learned that the under the autocratic
leadership style the leaders are the one who take all the decisions in the business organisation
and also implement all the necessary policies which are needed to be followed by all the team
members, also under the democratic leadership the leaders allows the team members to
participate in the decision making process but all the decisions are taken by the leaders only,

whereas in case of free leadership style, leaders does not involve in the decision making process.
Team members are allowed to take the important decisions and participate in the important
discussion also. After the first week learning I was well aware of the different leadership style of
the leaders after this in the second week I have learned about the qualities and skills of the leader
and manager, I have analysed that the skills and and qualities of the leader are different, the skills
of the leader are integrity, ability to delegate, effective communication, self awareness and risk
taking. Also the skills and qualities of the manager includes good coordinator, team building
skills, ability to delegate the task effectively. The skills and qualities of the manager and and
leader plays an essential role in their growth and success and also leading them towards
achieving desired goals and objectives effectively. The main purpose of learning about the skills
and qualities of the leaders and manager is understand their functioning and also learning about
what leads them towards achieving their goals so smoothly. This module helped me to analyse
that leaders and managers differ from each other in terms of their skills and qualities, the leaders
mainly focus on leading their team towards continuous growth and success and where as the
manager focus on directing the employees towards achieving desired goals and objectives, the
manager focus on implementing the policies which needs to be followed by each and everyone in
the business organisation effectively. After this during the third week I have learned about the
ethical and value based approach of the leaders and manager to decision making which also
include the ethical management and corporate governance. During this week I have analysed that
the leaders and the manger effectively analyse the situation in order to take better decisions
effectively, also I have analysed that while taking the important decision effective ethical and
value based approach is followed by the leaders and the manager so as to be fair and honest in
the decision-making. Being ethical also helps Conclusion the leaders and manager to be more
effective and creating strong image in the business organisation. After learning about the ethical
and value based approach followed by the manager and leader in their decision making, during
my fourth week there was a formative feedback on the presentation which helped in evaluating
the overall performance carried out till now.
During the sixth week I have learned about the human resource management policies and
procedure also the recruiting and managing a valuable workforce. In addition to this the equal
opportunities health and safety at the workplace is also learned during this week. I have learned
that there are various human resource policies and procedures which needs to be implemented

and followed by each and every individual in order to carry out the activity. I have learned about
the charismatic and transformational leadership, I have analysed that the charisma means having
a unique and colourful personality. The charisma relationship define as the attribution defined by
the team members about features of leaders and also the goals they achieved effectively. The
charisma have great influence on the team members such as it allows the group members to trust
the belief of leader along with having belief similar to the leader, accept the leaders
unquestionably and follow the leader. I have also learned that there are various types of
charismatic leaders such as socialized charismatic, personalised charismatic, office holder
charismatic, personal charismatic and so on. I have analysed that the charismatic leaders plays an
essential role in the make the group members feel confident and capable of doing things also
taking necessary risk in order to grow and develop , they are considered to be energy and action
oriented. Whereas the transformational leadership is the type of leadership style which generally
focus on enhancement of the leaders, ensuring the leaders personal traits and his bonding with
the team members. During this week I have analysed that charisma is a unique characteristics of
a leaders which makes them different from others, they effective contribute to the team members,
Conclusion mainly they have positive impact on the group members, in addition to this I have
also learned about the transformational leaders who continuously work towards brining changes
in the organisation. In the seventh week I have learned about the about training and development,
discipline and grievance, performance management and also redundancy and employment
tribunals. As a student I have learned that training and development plays an essential role in
enhancing the skills and performance of an individual, necessary training will help the individual
to perform better without any mistakes, along with this I have also learned about the importance
of discipline and grievances of every individual as having proper disciple helps the them to
perform better and the performance management help the person to manage and evaluate the
performance of the individual. Managing the performance of the individual allows them to
perform better and achieve desired goals and objectives.
Effective communication among the employees and the management plays an essential
role in smooth flow of information and achieving desired goals and objectives. During the eight
week I have learned about the importance of management communication in the business
organisation and need of regularly Conclusion communicating with the employees,
understanding their needs and wants solving their problems effectively. Communication allows

overall objectives of the business. After learning about the importance of managing the
communication among the employees and management I have learned about the international
human resources management during the ninth week, I have analysed that human resources
management is the process of carrying and handling all the activities related to human resources
at the international level. I have learned that the international human resources management
helps in effectively managing the international human resource enhancing the overall
performance. Then during the tenth week I have learned regarding the employment laws
governing human resource management, there are number of laws implemented in order to
protect the rights of the employees in the organisation. This report have effectively helped me to
analyse the various human resource policies and procedure also the activities related with
effective management and leadership.
Conclusion
From the above discussion I have analysed that managing people plays an essential role
in the overall growth and development, also leads to achieving desired goals and objectives. This
report helped to analyse the various things learned in the areas such as management, leadership
and human resources. I have analysed various policies and procedure of the human resources
management which helps in managing the human resources effectively. Also the various
activities related with management and leadership along with type of leadership and leadership
style and so on also analysed in this report.
