Introduction
The reports is focused towards developing the best possible strategies that can help in
effective organizational management. The report is focused towards specifically evaluating the
case study concerning Sam, a person who is under the executive manager a company and is
faced with various management dilemmas. It is important to note that the case study that is being
considered for the study is concerning the decisions that are to be made by Sam. The main issues
were that there were no solutions that could be derived from the various meetings that were
taking place in the company due to various issues. Some of the main reasons for this was lack of
proper team management. The theoretical management aspects that can help same are discussed
in the rest of the study.
Advice to Sam to resolve the problems
One of the most important tasks for Sam at this point in time is to create a better
environment for developing understanding among his people. The people of the organization
need to be managed effectively. In doing so Sam can improve the relationships between his
people. The lack of coordination is clearly visible as the meetings have all failed to provide
conclusive results for the organization. It is important to note that the company needs to focus
more on eliminating the prospects of miscommunication and mismanagement to develop in the
future. In doing so the organization needs to keep in mind that all the significant opinion of the
participants are considered essentially. There is a need for better leadership, better management
frameworks and better implementation of communication framework. It is evident that there is
also significant requirement for team management and task allocation in consideration of the
scenario that is present. The advice that can be given to Sam in this case is to take this issue to
the people of his team. Before anything needs to be done, there needs to be created a strong

Additionally, scientific management, behavioral management and the five rule of management
that were put forward by Henry Fayol. These rules can be used to create a better framework for

people effectively. The theories of management can better guide him in his management path.
Scientific management
Scientific management is an effective measure that Sam can take to ensure the active
engagement of his team members in any project. In accordance of the theory of scientific
management the analysis and synthesis of workflow is considered. The scientific management
theory is concerned more with improving the economic efficiency of any given management
condition. In accordance of the theory, the management of labor and productivity can help to
provide effective functional productivity to the organization. The theory was developed by
Frederick Taylor who focused on replacing rule of thumb management with more effective
scientific rules of management (Waring, 2016). Workers need to be matched with the type of job
that they can effectively do. Workers need to be monitored in accordance of their performances.
The scientific management principles are based in better understanding of the workforces. The
work allocation between the managers and the workers become very important in relation to the
better performances that can be provided by workers in consideration of the same. This is a form
of management that can be implemented in the given situation. This can improve the capability
of the people to perform better. At the same time the people would become better to manage as a
result of the same. The entire situation demands the strong consideration of the scientific
management theory. This can be a framework through which the better management of the

organization can be made possible. Teamwork is also an essential value of Taylorism. This is
important aspect that can be managed through scientific management.
Behavioral management
Behavioral management becomes crucial in this case as it can help in managing the
various issues that many of the team members seem to be having. Behavioral management would
require professional training. It is important that the reactions of people are understood and they
are managed in accordance of the same. This implies that the behavioral tendencies of the team
need to be very importantly monitored to create a better, more effective way of managing the
members of the team. In consideration of the situation it can be seen that one of the employees,
Peter actually wanted to get out of the team and had given application for the same. Another
team member, Felicity inappropriately spoke with the client and had to sit before the executive
manager. There were also lack of response from more reliable people like Abdullah and new
recruit Deborah were also not keen on handling the project. This brings forward the need for
better behavioral management within the team. The team members need to be provided essential
attention with regards to their needs and wants. It is important that the behavioral management
theory is understood with regards to its significance towards development of better management
relationships (Binder, 2016). The conclusion brings to notice the various factors that are
important to consider in this case. The supervisory aspects need to be changed in accordance of
the requirements of the situation. The hierarchy of needs theory can also be put to practice at this
stage. Hence, the aspects connected to human needs of psychological, physiological and self-
actualization need to be addressed.

There were five rules that were provided by Henri Fayol. These rules were essential for
the effective management of people in a given organizational setting. These rules are
fundamental to the achievement of better productivity. The five main principles that are provided
as a part of this setting are functional management planning, organizing, staffing, leading and
controlling. In accordance with the planning function, the management would require to plan
how they would like to enhance the performance of the people (Mahindru et al., 2018).
Organizing the functions refers the creation of specific goals and objectives that can be used to
enhance the performance levels of the firm. Leading is the effective management of the
employees. This means articulation of the organizational vision. It also requires motivation,
persuasion and inspirational leadership. The next most important things is staffing. The team
would need more people who can take much required challenges and lead the organization
towards profitability of business. The next most important aspect to improve is controlling. The
entire functionality of the organization would require effective control. This can be managed
through the implementation of better parameters.
Implications
The implications of the study point towards the requirement of the strong alignment of
the three important management areas that were developed. In this case it becomes important
that the theories that were discussed are essentially put into practice in the given scenario. Hence,
an important factor to note is improving the organizational performance mechanisms. There is a
need for implementing better team management in the organization. This would need the
formation of strategies that are important in the context of management. The scientific,
behavioral and 5 rules of management being incorporated within the organizational management
frameworks. It is important that the teams perform in accordance with the requirements of

business. Proper communicational frameworks would be required for which the most important
tools would be team or group session, training and motivational sessions (Cameron & Green,
2015). Management of team networks would make things more effective and important. This

team. It is important that the organization utilizes it full potential towards generating better
standards of management.
Conclusion
It is essentially understood from the study that Sam needs to make decisions that can help
to tackle the various issues that are affecting the management of the organization. It is important
to note that the management of the team can help in the development of better relationships
between the management and the workers. In essence, the workforces are important to create
better level of understanding in regards to the tasks that are to be allocated. The improvement of
the management can help in the cause of increasing the business with the acquisition of newer
