AIM: To analyse the role of diversity and equality policies of organization on employee’s
performance of case study of Tesco.
Objectives:
ï‚· To understand diversity and equality at workplace (how are their policies).
 To evaluate effectiveness of equality and diversity of employee’s performance in Tesco.

Background: This research project is based on the Tesco Diversified work culture. According to
research it can be identified that diversity council set the diverse strategy for Tesco. Tesco has
very divers culture and it welcomes all types of peoples in their organization. That is also made
the culture of organization is different and diversified. Not only diversified culture is an
important in an organization but equality is very important (Nachmias, Ridgway and Caven,
2019). Company also focus the equality policies for treat their all employees equal and for
enhancing their performance. Because if organization is not focus on the equality than it will
create partiality and bias- ness within the firm. With the help of diversified culture and equality
organization is able to create healthier work culture.
P2 Project Management Plan
Project management plan is defined as the strategic description of various activities
which will be accomplish during the project. The plan helps to execute the research in
correct direction and with clear budget, time and goal specifications.
Cost: Cost is defined as the total expenditure used for the completion of project. In project
various expenses occur in research process, data collection and publishing the report. This
project will consume £250. The major expenditure of £200 occurs in collecting data from
journals, textbooks and questionnaire. The remaining amount is spent in development of
report and documentation.

Scope: The scope of this project is huge, and it is also beneficial for organization. With the help
of this project company can manage effective work culture. Because diversity is applicable at
every organization. If company use their organization diversity effectively, it is provided
healthier company environment.
Time: This project takes almost 6 weeks for completion. The time frame in project describes
the duration in which project is completed. It is important to keep a goal for time limit so
that project execution is not expanded unnecessarily and its utility and efficiency can be
maintained by timely submission.
Quality: Quality is defined as the distinctive or attributed characteristics of project.
Quality research is essential because it assures that the purpose and objectives of research
is met and study has been successful in achieving desired outcomes accurately and
effectively. The project is authentic. Because in this project will use all the data from the
employees of Tesco. That are provided effective and quality details about the organization
diversity and equality policies (Booysen, Bendl and Pringle, 2018). In this project will use
effective methods of research which are helpful for designing project more effective and
authentic.
Communication: Communication is defined as the exchange and sharing of knowledge,
concepts and ideas. It plays a vital role in project as by using effective communication
quality of project data can be improved and quality of research can be enhanced. For this
project will communicate with the employees and staff or the organization. For the diversity and
equality project will also discuss with the top management and authorities of the company.
Risk and Resources: This project can be risk-full if the using statistical data is wrong. So, it can
impact the result of this project. In this project will use authentic and provide proper information.
For this research will use company data and also collect data from interact with organization
employees. What is the risk
Financial resources / sources of funding: The research does not involve any risk factors and
is small scale project. Thus it is self funded and personal assets are used to complete it.

P4 Qualitative and quantitative research methods
Qualitative research is defined as the study in which descriptive or non statistical
data is used while the studies which are based upon statistical information are called
quantitative. Qualitative studies are helpful to analyse the human perspective. On the other
hand quantitative studies provides statistical relations and thus have narrow range of
outcomes. This is a qualitative study so that concept of equality and diversity can be
understood from human perspective.
For executing the studies researcher can use primary and secondary methods. In
primary studies data is collected for the first time by researcher using primary sources like
questionnaire, survey and interview. Contrary to this in secondary studies research work of
other scholars is used. One of the advantage of using primary research is that it allows
researcher to explore latest and more reliable data. The secondary research is less
expensive and quick as compare to primary research. In this study both primary and
secondary research is used.
Research Methodology
Research methodology is a popular term. When methods of data collection and data
analysis shows the set of research methods, researcher have to explain an extent of extra
elements within the scope of research.
Research philosophy: It means the assumptions about the sources of information and the nature
of information. Because all types of research and projects are based on any type of hypothesis. In
the other word, research philosophy means, a kind of belief and trust that how data is collected
and how it will evaluate and use. Research philosophy is three types i.e.: Positive ISM, Realism
and Interpretivism (Mackey and Gass, 2015). For this research projects will use Interpretivism
research philosophy. Because it is based on small samples and investigation. And, in this
research will also collect data from the company employees and collect information on the
investigation bases.
Types of Research: The methods of research is also depend on types of research according to
the main object of the study. Research as basically two types first one is Qualitative research and
the second one is Quantitative research. For this research project will use qualitative research

method. Because qualitative research is includes theory, non- numerical data and also applies
reasoning (Bresler and Stake, 2017). The main object of this qualitative research is getting the
exact conclusion of research project. Qualitative data and information are based on exploratory
and this collected information cannot be graphed. For this research will choose this method of
research because will collected the primary data and this data is form of theory and words.
Research Approach: This is the significant factor of research methodology because it is directly
impacted the superior of special research methods. The research methods are three types i.e.:
Inductive, Deductive and the Abductive (Silverman, 2016). For this research will design the
research questions and that's why this research is based on the inductive research method. This
approach of research is beginning with the various types of observations and theories. For the
inductive research will firstly design the question and then collect specific data for solve these
questions. With the help of this inductive research will find out what are the outcomes of this
research.
Research Design: Research design give a background about how to conduct research. For
design the research it is provided appropriate framework and techniques. With the help of
effective research design, researcher can address all the questions of research (Fletcher, 2017).
Research design are three types descriptive, explanatory and causal. For this research project will
use descriptive research design because the project is based on the organization diversification
and equality. And, the descriptive research is useful for reflecting the case and the situation. The
descriptive research design is also the best option of this research project because in this research
will collect and analyse the data.
Data Collection: Data collection is the systematic process of collecting and gathering the
sufficient and effective data for the research. For this researcher can gather and measure the data
from the sources which are relevant and solve the questions of this research. Data collection is
also divided into two categories i.e.: Primary Data Collection and the Secondary Data Collection
method. For conducting this research on the diversification and equality in society will choose
the primary data collection method. Because for this research project will collect all the data
from the company authorities, employees and the from the company sources. For collecting the
data will use methods like interviews, questionnaires etc.
Data Analysis: Data analysis is the method of data scrutinize, purifying, transforming and
mould the data for the object and target of achieving important information, conclusion about the

this research project will use Thematic data analysis method because, because in this research

the employment legislations which prohibit any kind of discrimination in organisation on the
basis of diversity or culture. The diversity and cultural differences also influences the
professional relation among team members and thus due to difference in opinion conflicts may
arise between them. For resolving these issues organisation always assure to give equal
opportunities and treatment to all individuals irrespective of their diversity.

company faces challenges in diversification and equality. On the bases of research, it can be
interpreted that employees feel that diversity and equality and organization. Because they are not

of company. On the interpretation of diversity and equality policies are beneficial for
organization and employees. It can be interpreted that all the majority of employees are had
agreed on the statement and agree that organization design various policies for their divers and
equality, that provide healthier work culture to the Tesco employees. In the major consideration
of development of the equality and diversity in company. The organization have aim to have the

help in motivation and developing various skill; of employee which is contributing further level
of development of company and tends to province the theme the opportunities to have further
level of development. The company have realized to have the management in diversity tools to
manage the staff to have the level of belongingness in different age groups group, gender,
religion, background and ethnicity. The company have the management of the tools such as
motivation in order to have treatment of employees which is making the to feel there importance
in development of company in more respective and development way. The company various
policies and regulation have the major impacts in development of employee which is
contributing to major level in creating the completive advantage for developed of organization in
more specific way. The company is providing the level of motivation to there respective
employee with set of training and development which helps in making there skill more
productive and expansion of knowledge. On the other hand the human resources management is
paying equal level of emplanes in developing the voracious level of diversification strategies
which is helping in hiring the employees who are belonging from various backgrounds. Tesco is
had the providence of handsome salaries as the per standards of industry. Te company have also
partnered with providing them the level of security.
Moreover, the company ensured that employees get equal growth opportunities and
recognition for effort, which boosted their morale. The company is having the level of

more successful in market development. From the development of the research it can be
nationalised that company is bale to have the use in varsity of effective strategy along with
techniques which will help in motivating the employee in sudden extents.

Recommendation: For the Tesco will provide some recommendation which improve the
diversification work culture in the company and also enhance the equality the organization.
Management can design the various strategies and policies which can manage the diversified
culture in the organization and also improve the equality in the company (Dennissen, Benschop
and van den Brink, 2018). Using the results of the survey it is recommended , the management
of Tesco would be able to prepare contingency plans for the future and ensure that their
workforce is always motivated. Additionally, the company needs to involve their employees
more in the decision-making process and even impose equal pay criteria more strictly to avoid
discrimination of any sorts. Management of Tesco can also improve the communication process
for manage the diversity in the company, because with the help of effective communication
process employees are known about each other and also understand the feelings and emotions of
their colleagues.
Conclusion: From the bases of above research study it has been concluded that how much
diversification and equality are important in the organization. In this research has been concluded

represented the stages of the research and concluding things in the research. On the bases of
above study also concluded the research methodology in which presented all methods of research
such as research design, research analysis, research approaches, sampling, research philosophy,
data collection, data analysis and ethical consideration. With the help of research methodology, it
has been identified why researchers us different methods of research. Also, in this it has been
included the data analysis in which will address all the question of which are find at the time of
research design. On the bases of these questions it can be interpreted that what Tesco employees
are think about the question of which are raised just because of diversification and equality in the
company. In this research also included some recommendation for the managing company
diversified culture and improve the equality in the company.

evaluating the data. It has also provided me knowledge about how an organization use the
