MANAGEMENT
Marcopolo team management and employee cooperation
Team management as well as problem solving abilities have become an import elements in every
business sectors (Archibald and Archibald S., 2016). In case of construction industry, problem
solving ability as well as quick decision making capabilities are very important for avoiding the
unpredictable risks in the construction sites. Being a site supervisor in the construction company,
it is my responsibility is to involve in the management and supervision process so that the health
as well as safety guidelines can be maintained in the company. In the year 2010, the construction
company namely Marcopolo was founded in the Australian market. In the initial stage, the
company started with the 100 numbers of employees, which reached double within 5 years.
Marcopolo entered in the market with the attractive cabin and small home designs for bringing
the reasonable service in the market with innovation. The company believes in providing the
standard quality of services so that the customer satisfaction can be managed. I am working in
this company from the last 6 years as the site supervisor in the construction company. As per my
understanding, it can be said that being an experienced employee in this company I have
observed that team management as well as lack of decision making abilities are the important
challenges faced by Marcopolo.
Being a supervisor, it is also my responsibility is to maintain the cooperation among the staffs so
that they will be able to deal with the challenging situation in the construction sites. Being a
supervisor, it has been identified by me developing an effective organizational behavior has
become necessary for improving the work culture in the construction industry. Due to increasing
workload as well as pressure on the construction staffs, time management and cooperation
among the employees have become necessary. I have also analyzed that due to increasing

numbers of workload, it has become necessary for the staffs to adopt the time management
abilities
Marcopolo has followed the effective business expansion strategy, which is based on the cost
effectiveness. Being an experienced employee, I have seen diversified cultural aspects of
different employees who belong from the developing countries. Due to availability of skilled
employees in the lowest wages, the company has imported 10 technical experts from the
developing countries like India and Bangladesh. Analyzing the behavioral aspects of the
employees, it has been identified by me that due to the cultural differences and improper
interaction among the employees, these new employees have faced various problems. Due to the
cultural barriers the cooperation among the employees in the construction sites have created
various performance issues. Not only the cooperation issue, but also due to the cultural gaps,
buying and lack of cooperation towards the foreign employees created negative impact on the
organizational culture.
Due to lack of cooperation among the employees it has become challenging for Marcopolo to
implement its business strategies in the workplace in tight manner. On the other hand, it is also
true that due to increasing amount of challenges in the market, implementing positive
environment by understanding the behavioral characteristics of individuals has become important
for the company. In the year 2015, the training needs for improving the organizational culture
have been analyzed by the managing authority. In order to develop the cooperative as well as
productive work environment in the company, the training program for 6 months has been
introduced for the employees, in this training program the importance of cooperative culture as
well as leadership practices in the workplace have been introduced.

MANAGEMENT
In the year 2017, a disappointing incident has brought huge changes in the workplace culture in
my company. An employee namely George has got injured due to the old machinery equipment
in the company. On that particular day, there were less staffs in the site and due to the lunch
break most of the staffs were not present on that particular situation. After getting injured with
the drilling machine, right hand of George has got infected and due to the continuous bleeding
George got fainted. Some of the staffs who were working in the ground floor got to understand
the situation and have taken prompt action for avoiding the continuous bleeding. In order to
handle the quick decision making ability of the staff has impressed me. The cooperation ability
as well as responsibility towards the coworkers has made the employee efficient. After the
situation George has been sent to the hospital. This situation has helped me to understand the
importance of team management as well as cooperating workplace environment in my company.
Being a site supervisor in the company it is an important situation for me when I can see that the
strategic decision of mine has brought positive result in my workplace. Being a site supervisor in
the construction company, it is my responsibility is to involve in the management and
supervision process so that the health as well as safety guidelines can be maintained in the
company. After the accidental situation, it becomes clear for me that the training initiatives
which have been conducted by me has brought the cooperative culture in the workplace. I also
believe that being an experienced employee in Marcopolo, it is my responsibility to understand
individuals needs in the company so that I can be able to satisfy the needs of my coworkers.
After this situation I have measured the performance of Marcopolo for last 1 year in which I
have identified that effective team management as well as cooperative behavior is very important
to be adopted in the company.
