Gibbs reflective model for analysis experience of marketing communication and branding
As on the basis of above discussed marketing campaign plan, I can say that it increased my
knowledge to the great extent. I want to share my experience and knowledge that I gained by
studying marketing and branding subject in my foundation year with the help of Gibbs reflective
such as:
Description: I want to share my experience about marketing communication and
branding and in this context, I can say that marketing is an important subject. It is the one that
helps us out in knowing ways of promoting products, services and influencing people. By
studying this subject, I came to know about all elements of marketing that companies use for
attracting as well as retaining customers. In addition, I can say that marketing is the key of
organisational success. I learned number of things under this subject such as: communication,
management skills and branding. This subject increased number of skills such as:
communication, management, decision-making, problem solving and others (von der Heidt,
2018). I believe that communication skill is vital and required for becoming successful in
marketing and accomplishing academic goals in this marketing and branding subject. There are
number of things that happened and that increased my knowledge such as: I was asked to
participate in group tasks. I had fear of speaking in front of people but group tasks improved
relations with others and I learned number of new things.
Feelings: I want to share my feelings of my experience. On the basis of above shared
experience, I can say that group task for which I was encouraged to engage or participate made
me feel frightened as I had fear of speaking in a group. I was lacking in communication skill but
we were taught some effective ways of communicating and influencing others. This teaching
helped me out in participating in group task in an effective manner. After participating, I felt that
working in a group is better than working individually. When we work in a team then it
increased our knowledge as we learn new and different ways of performing functions. It
increases our communication and problem solving skills. team members have different
perceptions and working in a team is not an easy task but it makes us able in taking decisions and
solving problems. So, on the basis of this situation and experience, I can say that working in a
group in the foundation year was the best decision.

Evaluation: Along with this, I want to share other situations that occurred and that also
affected me in a critical manner. While studying about marketing and branding, we were taught
about ways of influencing people as having an ability to influence is key for successful marketer.
It can help us out in the future in attracting customers, influencing target people and retaining
them with business. We were asked to participate in group discussion by selecting a topic and
argue on this basis (Martínez-López and et.al, 2020). I was asked to influence other party of
group discussion. This task increased my knowledge and I learned ways of negotiating but other
team was also very effective. I lost this discussion and it had negative mental impact. It lowers
my confidence but my peers supported me and told me that it is the part of our lives. Along with
this, they helped me out in increasing knowledge about influencing and negotiating. This
increased my flexibility and now I believe that I can adapt changes and can influence others in an
effective manner. It was critical impact that this situation and task had on me.
Analysis: While studying this subject, we were asked to evaluate us owns strengths and
weaknesses. Self-evaluation helped me out in knowing my strengths as I am good in
communication skill, decision making skills and problem solving skills. Along with this, I found
that I need to improve numerical, time management as well as flexibility skills. In this regard, I
can say that having an ability to adapt changing situations is important. We were taught about
some external environmental factors that may change anytime and changes in these factors can
affect our performance. We all need to have an ability to work as per the changing situation.
Covid-19 is one of the best examples of changing situation and we were taught some best ways
of increasing flexibility skills (Kumar, 2018). I also found that as a marketing assistant, we all
need to have an ability to take decision as we need to take number of decisions while performing
branding function and targeting people. When we lack in problem solving skills then it increases
frustration and make us depressed. So, on the basis of this, I can say that this studying this
subject and learned skills can make me able in career development.
Conclusion: It can be summarised from the above discussion that marketing is one of the
best subject that increased number of skills. All those skills that we learn by studying marketing
communication and brand awareness help us out in our personal and professional lives.
