INTRODUCTION
Sustainability in career growth can be referred as ability of deciding and working on certain
career path in attempt to make that thrive and able to confront with all types of circumstances
(Greenhaus, Callanan, and Godshalk, 2018) The report will be discussing career path selection
and its different dimensions such as the reasons, motivation and feasibility.
MAIN BODY
Knowing why?
The job of Marketing manager is very dynamic in nature. Specifically, with the progress of time
it can be seen that the market is getting inclined to be more drastic. So it can be taken as a better
career opportunity provider (Nessel, 2021)
There has been number of motivational factors. But great interest in the marketing field
and ability, professional competency, attitude, aptitude all these fields made me think about
Marketing manager position as an occupation. The personal traits such as dealing with different
circumstances, policy making, execution etc. have also been there being my motivators. So it
would not be unfair to say that the occupational interest was the biggest motivator.
There are some strengths too, which has been paved way forward. It is supposed that in a
marketing manager some qualities such as creativeness, adaptability, curiosity, innovativeness
must be there. I found that these all are my strengths. The values such as being innovative and
risk takers make my work easier to choose it as a career choice.
Knowing what?
I found myself in passion with the Marketing manager profession. It can be seen as a best
alternative to work upon as a future career. As above stated there are some interests, values,
strengths I possess. There is great synchronization among interests, values and strengths so
keeping those factors in mind it can be concluded that it would be promising career opportunity.
There will be range of factors which may affect this field. Over the time the market is becoming
quite unpredictable and Technology, Politics, Environment, Economy, Social and Cultural norms
etc. (Bockhorni, and Beauchamp, 2019) are getting changed with hyper force so it would be said
that these all factors are having great ability to bring changes to this work area in the future.
As it can be seen that in UK the rate of unemployment has increased by 0.1%. In the last quarter
of 2021. The market is experiencing need to have higher skills and timely self-evaluation so can
make bigger changes in owns professional career (Zurawski, 2022)

The labour market data are also raising some issues and can pour on challenges. It is
being seen that in the nest 4-5 years there will be need to reskill more than 50% of the employed
people. It will be a big challenge to pursue Marketing manager career. Since the changing market
dynamics were affecting efficiency and also revert need to make drastic changes in personal
practise.
At the same time, this labour market information can be taken as opportunities too. Since
if the market becomes dynamic then it would be giving wider scope to widen wings and
enhancing skills both in term of profession and personal life. Being a Marketing manager I
would be able to use my skills, innovative nature, to help my organization boosting up its profits.
Knowing How?
Step-1 Development of relevant knowledge
For a person who is striving to look forward in certain area of profession so there is inevitable
need to have great basis understanding. It will become easier due to my current circumstances. I
am having good academic knowledge of the relevant field and having deeper understanding of
the notions which are required to be there in a good marketing manager.
At the same time, it can be achieved since the future is looking for such employees who are
having capability of being innovative, creative, risk takers etc. I am having these capabilities to
accomplish the intended objective.
Step-2 Getting on the job experience
I believe that there is need to have on the job experience. With this regard I would be working in
some organization to acquire this precious knowledge. My first and foremost priority would be
to work in retail sector. The final or long term aim is to be a professional in marketing field with
specialization in retail sector. So it will be given first priority (Miller, 2020) Achieving job
experience is quite feasible since my present knowledge and academic performance would be
giving this opportunity to get a job.
Step-3 Then holding main position
Then the further steps will be taken to hold position of a Marketing Manager. This would be
my final step of career pathway. The main aim is to be a good marketing manager specifically in
the field of retail sector.
It is highly achievable since at once if you have good academic performance, deeper knowledge
of the field, having work experience then considering the present market circumstances it can be

said that the present market dynamics are in favour of such innovative people so I would be able

If do not make it, and get job except retail sector. Then would reassess my skill set and need
to bring changes in term of betterment. It is feasible keeping both present and future
circumstances in mind. So altogether it can be concluded that these steps are having great
potential to make these aims true.
CONCLUSION
From the report above it can be summarized that sustainability in a career pathway is quite
essential for a person. The report presented deep insights of career path selection along with
rational justifications and sort of aligned notions such as required skills and potential challenges.
at the end the labour market information was also used in order to present strong arguments
pertaining to the selected career path.
