INTRODUCTION
For people career means the part of life that is concerned with employment. There are
various fields in which a person can make its careers which involves marketing, finance,
accounting, HR etc. According to me marketing is best option to get growth and success and
achieve personal goals. To better understand this concept Marks & Spencer has chosen which is
is British Multinational retailer of United Kingdom. In this report there are following topics are
covered such as: analysis and application, general trends which will impact on profession or
industry. Apart from this it is discuss about skills, knowledge and experience required in
profession and its evaluation.
MAIN BODY
Analysis and application
For an individual it is important to decide a profession in order to build its career so that
marketing has been chosen as a profession. It is the business process of creating relationship with
and satisfying demands of consumers and marketing can be defined as a activity which is
associated with buying and selling of products & services. Primary research is that in which
researcher collect data directly from the respondents which involves online survey, interview,
questionnaire etc (Primary research. 2019). It is helpful to know the career in marketing and
how much it is beneficial if an individual choose this as a profession. Secondary research is
conducted when data has gathered from the second hand sources such as: books, journals,
newspaper, articles etc (Secondary research. 2019). With the help of secondary research a person
can know the scope of marketing and available job opportunities and future demand of it if an
individual choose it as a profession and career. As marketing manager of Marks & Spencer
promotes the business of company by using effective promotional strategies which support the
growth of corporation.
Marketing plays a vital role in the success and growth of organisation and all companies
need it whether they are small or big. It is helpful in promotional activities so that more number
of consumer can aware about the products of corporation. Now a days demand of need of
marketing is increasing because of its huge scope and growth opportunities and it advertise the
products & services of organisation so maximum persons can aware about the products of
company. At present there are large number of job openings are available which are associated to

& one to one marketing as well as branding that includes effective communication and analysing
skill with pleasant personality (Patten and Parker, 2012).

General trends impact the profession of an individual which are associated to jobs, skills

Impact of globalisation:
Globalisation is the spread of products, technology, information & jobs across national
borders & cultures. As companies are becoming globalised so it influence the jobs of persons.
There is a general trend that organisations are focusing towards globalisation and it impact the
profession of individuals. As business expands, companies are looking for more opportunities for
its products & services. As corporations are becoming globalise and it impact the skills,
knowledge and jobs because it is require to know the culture of that nation so that marketing can
be done on the basis of it. To know the language is important in the field of marketing so that an
individual can communicative relevant message to the consumers. It also helpful in promotional
strategies for the person who perform the marketing role in the company (Matthews and
Bosanquet, 2014).
Knowledge about the economic condition is necessary for the person who perform the
role of marketing in the organisation. If economic conditions of a country is good than there are
more opportunities of employment and companies attract in that nation to conduct its business
activities. As a result more job opportunities related to marketing are created because all
corporations require it to promote its business. The marketing manager of Marks & Spencer
trained the employees so that they can easily survive in globalised market. So globalisation can
positively impact the jobs in context to marketing and which support the corporation to achieve
its goals and objectives.
Impact of Technology : Now a days technology plays an important role in the growth
and success of business. And it impact the jobs, skills and knowledge. In the marketing
profession it is essential for the an individual to use technology in the promotional strategies
which support the company to capture more market share. The general trend is that, almost all
organisations are using online marking and social media to promote its business. It is helpful to

Those persons who have good knowledge about technology, there are lots of opportunities are
available in the field of marketing. If a person who have software development knowledge and it
choose marketing as a profession than job opportunities can be enhanced for that person. Person
can use it to contact with the clients with the help of online server which support the growth of
business. Marketing skills and knowledge are helpful for an individual to prepare effective
marketing plan which is helpful for the organisation to capture more market share. As from the
secondary research it has been analysed that general trend in context to globalisation and
technology have impact on the jobs, skills and knowledge. It is helpful for those persons who
have sufficient knowledge and skills related to marketing than marketing profession is beneficial
for job creation (Hersperger and Edmonson, 2013).

budget which is required in promotion and advertisement. There are experience required such as:
how the handle group members so that they perform as per the requirement of company. To
minimise the risk it is important to have experience associated to risk management so that
effective marketing plan can be prepare for the growth of corporation. From the primary research
it has been analysed that skills, knowledge and experience are required for a person who choose
marketing as its profession. It is helpful for a graduate to build better career in the marketing
field (Gray, 2013).

KPI's across campaigns. I am interested in this job because I have choose marketing as a
profession as well as career and I have those skills which are required for this specific job.
I will prefer this job opportunities to others because of the following reasons. As it is
trending and lots of scope is available because all companies need an effective marketing team
who can perform its role to support the objectives of corporation. It is an emerging job role
because now a days there is a trend of online marketing using social media and email marketing
as well. So it is beneficial for the organisation to maximize its reach to a large group of
consumers and generate higher profits.
CONCLUSION
As from the above report, it has been concluded that it is important for an individual to
conduct research so that it can know which type of career is most suitable. As marketing has
selected as career because of more scope and job opportunities. Primary and secondary research
is beneficial to know the opinion and views of other persons about a specific topic. Impact of
