The field of interest which is chosen is Marketing. One of the main reason behind
choosing this filed is my interest in the same. In simpler words, marketing can be termed as d as
the process of increasing awareness of products and services among people in market. Further its
main purpose is to increase the sales and profitability of an business enterprise(Clampitt, 2012).
In the present scenario, marketing of products and services has become very important for every
businesses irrespective of its size, scale and operation. It can be also stated that without effective
marketing organizations cannot survive in market for long run (Selmer and Lauring, 201). Every
business enterprise needs to carry out the entire process of marketing in order to attract
customers, stay competitive and earn adequate profits.
Identifying dream jobs and 5 possible jobs
Marketing field is very big and offer people with wide opportunities related to growth
and development. Further it can be also explained that there are different type of employment
opportunities which are provided by this field. I want to work as a ‘Marketing Manager’ in any
of the renowned organization and this is my dream job.
Describing career plan methodology
There are four phases or steps of career plan methodology and they are as follows:1. Self-assessment: In this, I should ensure my own strengths and weaknesses and what
interest and skills I have. There are various self assessments tests for the career planning.2. Choosing a career: In the second step, I should decide my profession in which I am
interested according to skills profile and the subject I am studying.3. Plan the course of your career: After deciding the career, I should focus on concrete plan
to accomplish several goals and time scales for acquiring qualifications required for the
career.
4. Make a successful job application: In this, I should concentrate on personal as well as
professional skills to improve my ability to do work in the organisation.
Description of given professional field- Marketing
Manager of marketing department needs to perform various kinds of roles and
responsibilities which directly affects the success of organization for which he/she is working.

The main duty of marketing manager is to develop and implement strategies related to short term
and long term growth of a business enterprise. Along with this, the manager is required to
interact with all other departments of the same. (Kenworthy and Wong, 2014). It can be also
stated that there marketing manager should develop effective bond and relationship with people
working in other department. Further the manager is also required to take care and handle team
of different marketing executives. A marketing manager is the one who is responsible for taking
care of the brand image of his/her employer. Various kind of action plan and strategies are
developed by the manager in order to enhance brand image of the company which has employed
him/her (Rastogi, Sharma and Garg, 2013). All the strategies and action plans are being
developed by keeping the mission, vision and objectives of organization in mind. Along with
this, various activities such as branding, promotion, on-line and off-line promotions are also
carried out by marketing managers.
On the other side of this, manager is also required to take care of all major competitors of
a business enterprise. Further he/she needs to become aware of the products and services offered
by rivals along with their strategies related to pricing and marketing. In addition to this, manager
is the one who is responsible to carry out extensive market research to understand changing need
and demand of people in market. On the basis of these researches and studies, effective
marketing plans and strategies are developed by the manager(Hamlin and Hatton, 2013). It can
be also stated that manager is required to present these plans and strategies in front of the top
level management of an organization. After getting approval from their side, he/she needs to
implement those plans and strategies. Marketing manager also plays very important role in
processes such as strategy formulation and decision making. On the basis of his/her views and
opinions, businesses take decision regarding expansion of product line, markets and introduction
of any new product or services. The manager also carry out various activities associated with the
strategy of public relation (Zona, Minoja and Coda, 2013). In this strategy he/she is required to
interact with potential customers in market, understand their need and demand in order to
develop long term relationship with them. On the other side of this, it can be stated that the
manager of marketing department needs to carry out various kind of promotional activities with
an objective of generating need among people in market. This includes the use of different types
of online and offline promotions tools and techniques. However, it can be argued that marketing

manager is required to stay upgraded with the latest market trends and advancements in the field

All the plans and strategies related to marketing which are developed by the top
management of a businesses enterprise are required to be implemented by the manager. Further,
he /she is also required to provide regular feedback's regarding the same to top management.
One of the major skill which is required to be an effective marketing manager is communication
skills. The person should be capable enough to make the people in market aware about the
benefits associated with products and services which his/her firm is offering (Rangnekar and
et.al., 2013). It is the responsibility of marketing manager to make seek for new business
opportunities at regular intervals. It can be also argued that the above stated are some common
roles and responsibilities which marketing manager needs to perform but it can be changed on
the basis of the need and nature of organization for which the manager is working.
The responsibility of marketing manager is to plan and manage marketing programs.
Marketing Communication Manager's job profile handles various kinds of data and information.
They deal with various set of activities such as developing content of website, planning and
carrying out social media and mobile marketing activities etc.(Zakarevičius and Župerkienė,
2015). On the other hand, it can be explained that a marketing manager is required to carry out
events, marketing campaigns and conferences at regular intervals to make people in market
aware about the offering of organization. Press release, designing brochures and content of
website are also some activities which are required to be carried out manager of marketing
department.
It can be stated that market research analyst is the one which carry out intensive research
of markets to understand customer taste, preferences, need and market trends. All these
information's is collected, analyses and then present in appropriate manner. This helps marketers
to develop appropriate strategies to enter market and gain competitive advantage over other
market players. Market research analyst collects information from a variety of primary and
secondary sources. On the other side of this, a project manager is the one which is responsible to
develop new and innovative products and then carry out promotion of the same (Chong, 2013). It
can be also explained that these manager needs to make sure that the new product meets need
and expectation of customers in the best possible manner. In order to satisfy the short term and

long terms objectives developed by a business enterprise, these managers also provide their
useful suggestions and views on modification in new product or development of new one.
A marketing consultant is the one who provides its clients with useful information related
to markets. Furthermore, it can be also explained that these are the people which provide suitable
suggestions to companies regarding developing new product and launching the same into market
(Yukl and et.al., 2013). Such kind of manager may carry out their activities by working with
consultancy firm or can operate by their own. On the other hand, sale executives are the one
which carry out the activity of promoting products and services to all people in market. The main
objective of these personnel's is to increase sales and profitability of an business enterprise.
Identification of possible obstacles or challenges
The work of a marketing manager is tough and is full of challenges. He has the responsibility of
bringing improvements in the workplace. The challenges which are faced by the marketing
manager are as follows:
· Difficulty faced during analysis of marketing report: The field of marketing is
undergoing constant changes. With the evolution of new ideas and strategies, the marketing field
is introduced with novel words as well as phrases. It is a challenging task for marketing manager
to keep abreast with the language, common words and phrases used in the field of marketing.
Equally difficult is the interpretation and analysis of this data.
· Disconnection when interacting with executives: There may be times when
marketing managers experience difficulty in presenting their plans before the senior
management. It leads to the creation of a communication gap which makes the whole situation
stressful (Rana and Rastogi, 2015).
· Others challenges: The other challenges of the marketing manager includes
providing the ROI of your marketing activities, securing enough budget for flexible market
spend, managing websites etc.

There is different jobs profile in marketing field. The future graduates can choose
marketing jobs like marketing manager, sales executive, product manager, marketing research
analyst, marketing communication manager and marketing consultant. The benefits which they
get from these recommendations are their skills can be enhanced, improvement of
communication skills as well as they will develop presentation skills.

can learn. I will get better communication skills through trying to be confident, get rid of
unnecessary conversation fillers and most importantly to pay attention to other person

etc. The benefits I will get from these skills will be to showcase better idea what I want to
do, can relate to the more people etc.
