INTRODUCTION
Travel and tourism industry is one of the fastest growing sector which provide several
growth and development opportunity to an individual with the help of which they can develop a
better career path for earning greater success (Nicula and Elena, 2014). In addition to this it also
provide several benefit to an individual like they get a chance to enhance their knowledge about
the world and be able to improve their interpersonal and critical thinking skills as they have a
direct interaction with customers. This is based on reflection to represent the personal and
professional development practices by elaborating about importance of employability log,
current level of skills, its evidences, personal and professional development portfolio along with
CV and cover letter fro particular job role.
MAIN BODY
The importance of a employability log
The employability is basically refers to the set of skills or capability of individuals that
sup[port them in performing their job in effective manner (Wan, Wong and Kong, 2014). With
travel and tourism sector there are number of issues that may arise in front of the marketing
executive which require instant response to customer as they are the person who directly interact
with customers. Hence, employability log is consider to be most essential part within the
development of an individual's career. It required number of skills that are related to both that
technical and soft skill so that operations can be operated effectively whether digitally or
physically (Marschall, 2015)(Sigala, and Chalkiti, 2014). These includes skills like critical
thinking, communication, sales skills, problem solving etc. These skills holds higher important
with the travel and tourism sectors as communication skill support in attracting customers and
help in keeping them satisfied as while interacting it become easier to determine the issue they
are facing and critical thinking skills will support in taking decision in timely manner. Hence, by
implementing the employability skills it become easier for the people to get job and perform well
by executing the activities assigned in effective manner that help in getting most positive
outcome (Ying and Norman, 2017).
Identify your current skills levels
After evaluating the opportunity available in marketplace I have decided to develop my
career in travel and tourism sector which is consists of number of career growth opportunity and

for this I have decided to go for the marketing executive job role which is a good start for
developing a better career. But in order to get a better job it is crucial to have some set of
employability skills which support me in performing my job in effective manner (Smith, 2014).
So in order to develop these skills and making me prepares for the future job I have decided to
firstly evaluate my skills and then determine the skills which I required to improve. From this
evaluation I have determined my level of skills which are mentioned below,
Decision making skill:- I am quite good at decision making skills as I mainly focuses
over firstly evaluating the problem and its several aspects so that nothing remains left. This
support me in taking right decision which brings up more positive outcome.
Communication skills:- My communication skills are average as I good at interacting
with people and maintain relation with them but sometimes I get hesitated to interact with them
when they aggressive.
Problem solving skills:- I am good at solving issues as I mainly focuses over
determining the number of reason behind issue and then deciding number of alternatives that can
be consider to resolve this particular issue then I evaluate those alternative to choose best among
them.
Leadership skills:- I am not much good at leading the people while performing work as I
never get a chance to perform leadership. In addition to this I sometime hesitate to order people
who are of similar age to work in particular manner as it affect the relationship with them.
Industrial knowledge:- I have studied several things about the travel and tourism
industry as this is my interest area but I don't much have understanding about several aspects as
well as legal standard or policies that are required to be followed by a marketing executive while
performing its operations.
These are skills as well as their level which I current hold along with the information
regarding the area to which I require improvement in order to get a better job. With the help of
this information I would be able to develop a personal development plan which consists of
strategies to overcome the weaknesses so that I would be able to prepare myself for getting a
better job.

will ask to my colleagues to perform rating out of 10 over my skills as per their understanding so
