INTRODUCTION
Career planning & development is that strategy which is framed for individual person to
determine the objectives which are related to career and also observe the pathway to achieve the
objectives. In this respective process various activities are involve such as self development and
attaining targets of the company. In this assignment I have selected the profession of marketing
in retailing sector because in this sector good job are available easily due the reason that retailing
sector expand widely. The main reason to choose the respective is to develop relationship with
new people and also convince them towards their product which leads to increase sales.
Marketing field give me exposure which tends to improve my status in terms to money as well as
regarding job position. As Marketing unit is more concerned regarding promotional activity .
Through using various techniques product is promoted and awareness are created which supports
to improve sales level. To perform marketing activity there is need to appoint more employees so
that Sainsbury can operate their business smoothly. In this profession various trends which are
beneficial for future are also there such as social messaging app , video marketing, artificial
intelligence etc which helps in expanding marketing scope which tends to leads to get the job
which is desired to achieve. I have discuss about skills, experience and knowledge that I need to
to work effectively as a marketing executive.

After completing my graduation. I like to start my career with the industry which is more
dominant. Therefore retailing industry is selected for the job so that to make my career bright.
For good job I was search on naukri.com , Indeed , Linked In and on various other portals.
Through naukri.com I got information regarding the vacancy in the organisation which are
connected to retail sector. This sector grows rapidly in UK as audience are more interested to
buy various goods and services at particular point of time due to the reason of busy schedule.
Many trends make impact on retailing industry in Sainsbury as these are discuss in detail in the
below mentioned paragraphs (Brown, 2020)

Social commerce: It is the most common trends adopted by organisation because by
using this mode of trade shopper can make the easy purchase right from the social media
apps or websites instead of clicking on the third party website. In the pandemic time, it is
observe from current analysis that approximately 41% of clients are interested to buy
products through online mode and try to eliminate the interaction and leads to maintain
social distance.
Online stores in offline spaces: So many famous brands like casper, Amazon fresh are
operate the business through online mode but requirement of physical stores are also
grown as it also demanded by customers. To meet the desires of audience Amazon
launched their stores in the market so good brand image are create by it by serving
products to large number of customers. In this manner it tends to increase their customer
base (Lara, 2020)
More AR powered shopping experience: At present , audience are more concentrate
on virtual reality and also try to listen thought on which discussion can become possible.
During the pandemic, many shoppers continue to shop so retailer try to adopt and follow
AR technology to bridge the gap that was developed between digital & physical stores so
it tends to help the industry for business growth and survival.
After analysis it is observe that retail industry is the fast growing sector even at existence of
situation of COVID 19 and many other trends are also grow in the market in order to sale goods
and services to customers. Organisation Sainsbury offer product and services to their customers
with the help of social commerce and AR powered experience are use by company so that
audience can purchase the item which is effective to organisation as it tends to gain high level of
productivity.
Impact of globalisation: It tends to make positive impact on business because due to
globalisation customer base are tends to increase which affect sales favourably. It give exposure
to business. It also raise profitability of the business (Xu, 2020)
Impact of technology: Due to innovation of advance technology chances of error or defects are
eliminated or reduce. By following the technology company easily save their time and also

To get the job of marketer in any industry whether it is related to hospitality, consultancy,
media, retail, etc. There is need to have good communication skills in individual also he / she
must have excellent personality so that it become possible for them to attract people and agree
them towards their words. Strategies are also frame by the marketers so he must posses deep
knowledge because than only he can frame effective strategies and accomplish the objectives.

when my graduation completed I was busy to search the job which is suitable as per my
profession. I believe that according to my knowledge, skills the job role of marketing executive
are most prominent for me. Therefore to get the job of marketer I was applied in nauri. Com and
from that source I got the job in the organisation Sainsbury (Vondracek, 2019) Here I played a
role of marketing executive where I was giving instruction to my subordinates regarding
promotional tool and how to implement such tool to create brand awareness regarding the
product. The main reason behind selecting this organisation to work is due to their good brand
image in market . As I am interested in this profile because of my particular interest in this
industry . Working with good reputed brand give exposure to the candidate and it also improve
the chances of career development . Regarding the job profile , deep evaluation are done and it is

also analyse what are the skills require so that employer can select easily. As marketing is
considered as the area where
person must possess convincing power so that individual can shown interest in the product and I
have skills of negotiation so that I can easily influence opposite party to purchase the product
which served by me. I also have good tactics to solve the issues. With my excellent command
over computers and on excel I can make record of all the transactions related to sales. Along with
the role of marketer I also play a role of key accounts executive in this I prepare the report of
sales and purchase. As I have selected the field of marketing because this role is suit to me as per
my skills. In the near future three job roles are also emerge in the retail industry. Vacancy in the
profile of accountant, sales man and cashier are also available in Sainsbury's at different
locations (Taylor, 2019)
CONCLUSION
After deep study and analysis it is conclude that in retail industry there are options for job
. As marketing professions have wide scope in this field. To get the job and fill the vacancy , I
must focus on my skills, communication. Through primary & secondary data we tends to get an
idea regarding possibilities of development. As different job attract unique skills so it necessary
to decide in advance that in which sector or profession you are interested to make the career.
marketer must possess the skills of critical thinking, leadership skills as well as talent of problem
solving so it become possible for them to handle the situation which is most critical and
complex. He/ she must have capability to figure out the requirement of market which is tends to
be targeted so that effective decision making is done regarding production or arrangement of
