Introduction
Sustainable initiatives are very important for improving the marine environment as well as
ensuring economic growth in coastal areas (Raudeliūnienė, Stadnik and Kindarytė, 2016).
Analyzing the changing marine environment, it has been identified that increasing amount of
plastic wastage, the marine life is getting affected. In order to reduce the production of plastic
rubbish, the Plastic Collective firm aims to encourage the local community. The purpose of the
study is to analyze the case of plastic collective firm and discuss the strategic initiatives adopted
by the form in terms of ensuring the sustainability in coastal areas.
1. Background to the Case
1.1 Background of Plastic Collective
Plastic collective form aims to prevent the plastic leaking process into the environment. The
form mainly focuses on empowering individuals towards bringing the creativity for sustainable
benefits. By empowering the community for transforming the plastic wastage the company aims

Analyzing the changing marine environment it has been identified that increasing amount of

due to eating the plastic hidden in sea grass, the firm has focused on developing the sustainability
principles so that the plastic rubbish can be reduced. In order to reduce the production of plastic
rubbish, the company aims to encourage the local community. It is true that based on the analysis
it has been identified that providing the machine to the people in Island areas, the Plastic
collective firm that helps to manage the plastic wastage (Plasticcollective.co, 2019). In order to
educating people regarding the plastic wastage, the plastic collective form introduced different

2. 1 Plastic Collective sustainability-related strategy:
In order to ensure the sustainability in the market plastic collective firm has adopted various
strategic initiatives towards the growth. In order to ensuring the community engagement plastic
collective has introduced three-stage comprehensive partnership package in which the company
aims to introduce the waste free environment with the effective contribution of individuals.

challenges faced by plastic collective firm, it can be say that due to increasing issues in in remote

been increased. By continuing this, it can be said that due to increasing amount of
transportation cost, it becomes challenging for the firm to service the small communities by
