INTRODUCTION
Personal branding is considered as a portfolio for which an individual is known in the
market and a basis to get job after completion of educational or either leaving the previous job (5
Steps to Build Your Personal Brand, 2017). It is also considered as a profile of an individual
which contains list of attributes, skills, qualifications, efficiency, potential and experience from
which reflects his personalty in the corporate world.
Personal branding in marketing
In the above study, personal branding for marketing individual is done for the purpose of
developing the career and impression in the mind of mangers of business firms.
I am a student having a wide experience and knowledge of marketing. Throughout my college I
have learnt all about the various skills and knowledge which are required to be a professional in
marketing sector. The marketing sector is a very interesting field where the contribution of
individual is very significant for the success of business firm. I have chosen the marketing field
for gathering knowledge and developing the career as professional in marketing. In my MBA, I
have gained the knowledge about analysing the market structure of multinational firms, various
strategies which are required for expansion of business across the globe. I have developed my
communication skills by participating in various seminars, training sessions and activities
organised by the college. For personal development I have various things like joined personal
development classes, reading books of market leaders and various journals. By doing the market
research, I have developed strong reasoning power and analytical knowledge to gain experience
of formulating strategies. By participating in conferences and workshops of marketing, I have
developed my skills of influencing and negotiating with customers. I have increased my strength
and knowledge by following the method of self managed learning. Career development in
marketing filed requires various strengths such as:

Excellent communication skills: It is an essential skill which helps in increasing the
sales and attracting the customers towards the products (Khedher, 2014). It is also
essential for individuals to communicate effectively and develop a relationship with
clients. In the learning sessions I have improved my communication skills by interacting

Creative thinking: In marketing, firms require the individual who have creative mindset
and deliver innovative ideas to accomplish the work differently (Vallas and Cummins,
2015). I have attained this strength through continuous learning and doing research about
changes which are made by the firms in marketing to achieve a continuous growth.
Better technical knowledge: Individual in the field of marketing must have the
knowledge of technical advancement and understanding of common tools and objectives
of marketing (Harris and Rae, 2011). I have achieved this competency through
continuous research on the Internet and practical application. Better technical knowledge
and ability will help me accomplish the job effectively and achievement of target in
specified period.
Excellent Analytical skills: Professional of marketing filed need to have the better
analytical skills. During the market research I have done analysis many research reports
which provides the data or statistics of business firms like size of market, sales increment,
increase in competition etc. I have achieved good knowledge of interpretation of data so
that I can make effective decision on strategies of marketing.
These are some skills which I have gained from the education and self managed learning through
which I will perfectly accomplish the job. For increasing knowledge of marketing I have also
done training in a multinational firm which has provided an experience of work and relationship
with the clients. Training has provided an experience of working in a team and understanding of
coordination at workplace. Things which differentiate my personality from the other persons is
my dedication towards the work and through I have achieved good percentage in academics as
well in professional qualification. I have also been selected for the best student award in my
college and achieved prizes for excellent performance. Making career in the field of marketing
has provided a motivation to take the activities as challenges which I have completed in properly.
In the academic career I have also faced some challenges and issues which has provided a
negative impact but I have resolved those issues and concentrated on my objective of becoming
marketing professional. Apart from strengths I also have some weaknesses which I have to
overcome such as:

Marketing of products: In this field, there are some brands and companies which produces the
products which are harmful for customers. I have faced the challenges in selling the products
which are harmful for the clients but sometimes many things we have to ignore to achieve the
target. I have to enhance the skills of influencing the customers. I have to develop the strategies
of communicating with customers which are required for personal development. Other problem
that rise in the marketing was continuous changes in the marketing strategies of competitive
firms. For the improvement of skills I have started doing the market research of companies to
enhance the knowledge about innovative strategies of marketing and analysis of different
products of companies.
Problem in time management: It is the most important thing to achieve the success in every
field and in education. From the self analysis I have faced the difficulties managing the time in
accomplishing the work and meet deadline. During the training period I have also faced the
problem of accomplishing the activities at specified period. But for the removal of this problem I
will set the target and prioritize the task which I have to complete. I will also make schedules
daily for the proper management of work on time. Through proper communication I will achieve
the guidance which helps in developing the skills of managing the time at workplace.
Weak leadership skills: This is a weakness which have faced in my career that I have weak
leadership skills as I have faced problem in guiding the team members. I had recognised that the
due to soft communication I have the problem in leading other in a team. For the removal of this
weakness I will take guidance of leaders and managers of firms in will get the job. I change my
communication towards team members and focus on managing performance for achievement of
objective of employers.
For achieving the growth in career I will reduce influence of these weaknesses on my
personality. I will also develop a strong potential through working in business firm and achieve
the experience by these weaknesses. I have to develop an identity which describes my excellence
and dedication towards the work. It has considered that the firms are hiring the individuals who
have the potentials which match there requirements and satisfy the needs of firms (Schultz and
Sheffer, 2012). Therefore, these skills which are disclosed will help in becoming an marketing
