INTRODUCTION
Marketing is very important to promote the new product in order to increase the
profitability and productivity of the firm. In this reflective report I will be providing
understanding of the team work included in presenting the study on the principles of marketing
and communication in the digital world. This self reflection will include about my contribution
in preparing this assignment. Also, it will include about few difficulties that arise in preparing
this project such as time management, emotions, anxious during presentation etc. furthermore, it
will provide about my confidence and the team work included in presentation.
What went Well
The presentation provided a great experience as it included the team work which made
the assignment was successful and this made me realize the importance of having group work.
My group members were very helpful and followed my instruction to make the presentation
attractive. The topic was related to principles of marketing which involved lot of analysis and in
depth information to identify more information about the topic. The team member and me made
various research to identify information relating to the subject. The fellow members and me
were very confident about the information gathered and the presentation was made with lot of
hard work and research was involved in presenting the final work.
I got the opportunity to be in this team as it provided experience of cooperating in team
which include various responsibilities such as coordination, communication, group work etc.
between the teammates to achieve the goal of group. The team member and me have done a
comparative analysis of markets of different nation in order to identify the market trend. We
coordinated and communicated for various information to identify the effective information for
our topic. The assignment provided understanding of different thoughts of different people,
learning new things etc. (Tatlow-Golden and et.al., 2017).
According to Belbin theory of team building which includes roles such as Action –
oriented roles, people – oriented roles and thought – oriented roles (Belbin Team Roles: Theory
and Practice, 2017). Action – oriented roles includes shaper, implementer and completer
finisher. Shaper is the person that handles obstacles and is extrovert that question assumption
(Abdullah and Ismail, 2014 ). Implementer is a person that bring self- discipline in team.
Completer finisher ensure that things are done in a right way. These roles have provided great
helps in building our team and maintaining the discipline in the group to achieve the goal. People

– oriented roles bring people and ideas together and it includes coordinator, team worker and
resource investigator. Coordinator brings order in team to coordinate the activities. Team
workers provide support to the team and resource investigator develop contacts with the
outsiders to get various information (Sapuan, 2016). Thought – oriented roles analyse options
and provide technical expertise. It includes plant , monitor evaluator and specialist which helps
in building the team and providing innovative ideas to achieve the goals.
What did not go well
The topic included in this presentation was current and there were lot of information
present on different sources due to which me and my team members were having lot of problem
to choose the effective information for our topic to provide proper understanding of the topic.
Also, the team members and me has put lot of efforts in making this presentation and many
people were feeling bad as their efforts were not considered in finding the information.
Furthermore, there was a different problem relating to time management between me and my
team members due to which many conflicts arises (Asrawi, Saleh and Othman, 2017). Also,
while presenting the presentation me and my team members were very anxious due to which we
had problem in presenting the information with continuous flow. The team members were
having conflicts on various matters relating to gathering the information which we all have to
resolve for maintaining proper communication between team members to achieve the goals of
the team. While making the presentation the team members were having difficulty in sharing
their views and opinion on different matters due to which they were disheartened.
Own contribution
During the presentation my involvement was in making the slides, selecting the
information which is relevant to LG company on which are topic was based (Mayer, Borges and
Simske, 2018). My contribution in this presentation was to keep harmony between the team
members and maintain the communication flow between different members of the team. I
provided new ideas and design for the presentation to make it more attractive. We made plan for
managing the work before the submission date get closer, so that I can get the feedback about the
presentation earlier in order to be ready on presentation day. I helped the team members in
understanding various theories relating to marketing and various concepts of market mix which
are important for marketing. I as a member of team provided the team members proper guidance
about the topic in order to get the best result for the presentation in grades. The members were

very supportive to each other as everybody followed true instruction regarding formatting of the
presentation and various other matters. There was appropriate maintained level of discipline
level while working so that work is properly done. I was very nervous during the presentation
and was having a fear of failure but it was ended successfully and all went good at the end of
presentation and we all were happy as our team goal was achieved.
Other's contribution
The team members were very hard working and put their efforts and energy in providing
relevant information for the assignment (Mayer Borges and Simske, 2018). They helped each
other and worked as team to achieve the common goal of the group. They provided various
suggestion and their view point in making the presentation successful. The work environment
was very friendly and healthy which helped the team members in coordinating with each other
for making planning and execution for the work. Every team members were motivated for the
presentation to put their efforts in making the presentation successful. The members were treated
equally and thus they feel motivated to work in a team. Contribution made by the team in
identifying information related to marketing and its various principles was very useful and the
teammates was very helpful to each other which help in getting the presentation ready before the
submission date. As a group we performed our best in making the presentation successful and
put our efforts, skills and knowledge. The group was very confident and their emotions were
attached to the presentation as we get to know each other while making the presentation.
CONCLUSION
This project was a great experience to use as it provided various knowledge about the
market and principle of marketing which has helped our team in making the presentation so
attractive. This assignation has helped the team in identifying their strength and weakness which
they improved while working on the presentation. This project has provided me understanding
that I can be a good in team and could lead for attaining success as team. Me and my team
member's put our efforts and worked in a team for making the presentation successful. This
assignment has provided me a learning and leadership experience (in itself) which I will be able
to use in future in a positive manner.
