There are number of opportunities present for the person for his effective career
development, for the future success it becomes very essential for the individual to select the right
career choice as it will lead to the further development and according to this he can develop his
skills and knowledge. For this report the Marketing is selected as the career choice which
includes vast number of growth and development opportunities including various roles and
responsibility. Here, I am pursuing business management and seeking for a excellent career in
marketing. this report highlights the detailed analysis of the general trends along with the skills
and knowledge required in order to grow and develop in the future career path in addition to this
the proper evaluation is also highlighted in this report.
Analysis and Application
General trends:
With the growing and developing market, there are vast number of changes happening in
each and every career field, with the increasing competition the advancement in the various
career options can be seen effectively. these changes helps in brining new and innovative in the
marketplace. For this report the marketing is taken as the career profession which includes vast
number of opportunities and growth rate (Comiskey, 2020). But there are various general trends
available which will directly influence the marketing profession as highlighted below:
Globalisation: The globalisation is described as the process under which all the business
activities and operations are carried out at the international level. It allows business organisation
to expand their business in the international market, also offering vast number of opportunities, it
also helps in building effective relationship among the countries. With the help of globalisation
the transfer and exchange of goods and services and resources between the nations has become
easier. The marketing plays an essential role in the globalisation through the transfer of goods
and services across border (Marsh, 2018). The marketer can easily reach the international
audience which leads to increasing their customer base and enhancing their overall profitability.
The globalisation helps in attract customers all around the globe enhancing their brand image.
With changing customers taste and preferences and trends the marketing concept is also
changing, the global marketing is now one of the leading trends which will directly influence the
marketing activity effectively.

Consumer’s relationship management: The customers are the major part of a business
which determines the success or failure of the business. In order to gain competitive advantage in
the marketplace and enhance their performance it becomes very essential for the business
organisation to focus on their CRM activities which includes managing, satisfying and retaining
their customers for the longer period of time through offering them quality services and value
added products. The main aim of the CRM is to build strong relationship with their customers to
enhance their brand image (McWhirter and McWha-Hermann, 2021). The customer’s hold more
power in the today’s marketplace to satisfy them it becomes essential for the marketer to first
understand their needs, as changing trends and customers taste and preferences will directly
influence the marketing activity.
Technological advancement: The growing use of technology, it has become one of the
essential part of any business as today in order to complete any activity requires use of
technology effectively. The marketer uses various online and digital platforms in order to
promote and make customers aware of the product and services (Monserrat and Simmers, 2020).
The use of technology and various digital platforms allows business or the marketer to directly
interact with the customers and build strong relationship with them enhancing brand image. In
addition to this the marketer are also using various tools and software in order to analyse the
needs of the customers. thus technology has direct impact on the functioning and operation of the
business.
From the above it is analysed that there are various trends present such as globalisation,
CRM and technology which directly influence the marketing practices so it becomes very
essential for the marketing manager to regularly analyse these trends.
Skills and knowledge required
Skills:
Communication skills: The communication skills helps in effective transfer of ideas and
information between the parties. It helps an individual to share their ideas with others, for a
marketer it is very important to have to communication skills in order to convey the features,
ideas and essential elements about the product and services to the target customers and enhance
their productivity and profitability (Nye, 2021).

Leadership skills: The leadership skills allows an individual to lead and manage their
team members towards achieving desired goals and objectives, for an marketing manager it is
very essential to have leadership skills to manage and lead their team effectively.
Interpersonal skills: The interpersonal skills allows an person to understand other
behaviour and easily interact with them. In case of marketing profession the marketing manager
needs to interact with large number of people, this skills will help them to understand their
behaviour and interact with them (Prather, 2019).
Team work: The team work is the activity where more than two person work together in
order to achieve desired goals and objectives. Cooperation between the team members is very
essential for the smooth working as they all will have their own thoughts and ideas. So it
becomes essential for the marketing manager to create coordination and cooperation with in the
team so as they work towards achieving common goals.
Decision making skills: The decision making skills allows individual to analyse the
situation and take correct decision, in case of marketing profession they ahs to take number of
decision regarding various activity, so it becomes essential for them to have decision making
skills (Rohr, 2019).
Knowledge and expertise:
Technical skills: with increasing use of technology and various digital platforms it
becomes very essential for the marketing manager to have technical skills in order to use various
digital and online platform to promote and advertise their product and services effectively. the
use of digital platform will enable the them to directly connect and interact with their potential
customers which automatically leads to enhancing their customers base and profitability. With
the knowledge of online platforms the marketer should also have knowledge of the various tools
and software available to understand the demand of their customers (Sharma, 2020).
Consumers behaviourist: In order to deal with the consumers and attract them it is very
important for the marketer to have proper knowledge of the consumers behaviour as
understanding the consumer behaviour will help marketing manager to understand their taste and
preferences and then accordingly satisfying their needs, it will also help in creating strong
relationship with them.
From the above it is analysed that there are number of skills and knowledge required in
order to move towards success in the marketing profession. For the continuous success in the

skills and so on, these skills will help in leading individual towards continuous growth and
success (Stebleton and Diamond, 2018).
Evaluation
From the above it is analysed that with the current market trends and changes, I will
chose the field of digital marketing which is one of the growing field in the marketing with
increasing use of technology and digital platform. Most of the companies are using digital
platforms in order to directly interact and communicate with them and make them aware of
goods and services easily, it has made easy for the marketer to increase their customers base. The
digital marketing includes wide scope in terms of including various social media marketing,
content marketing, search engine optimisation and website marketing and so on. the social media
marketing includes Instagram, Facebook, twitter, and so on with the help of which I can easily
interact and connect with the target customers and make them aware of my products and
services. And then with the help of content writing I can write unique and creative content about
the brands and post it on various social media platforms which will help me to attract large
number of customers (Xu and Yin, 2020). The use of various social media platforms will help
me to enhance my knowledge in the marketing field which will help me in my career growth.
With my growing skills in the marketing I would like to make my career in the digital marketing
as it is the emerging field of marketing so I will work hard and will become successful in my
chosen career path effectively.
Conclusion
From this report it can be concluded that the choosing the right career path helps in the
overall development and enhancement of an individual, it is analysed that individual needs to
carefully evaluate and analyse all the options available then only the right career path should be
selected. From the above report its I analysed that the marketing is one of the major growing area
for the career development as there are vast number of opportunities available. This report
