Marketing is the strategic business operation through which the business organisation
promotes and advertises about its manufactured goods and services to the consumers within a
given population in an effort to increase their interest in relation to the business organisation's
operations, functions and products and convert them into making a financial transaction with the
business. Marketing operations of a small, medium or large sized business organisation are
immensely important and essential towards maintaining and increasing its operational
productivity, profitability, customer base and market share within the operational industries and
increasing their brand awareness, reputation and value in the consumer markets. Business
organisation irrespective of their size have access to two main channels of marketing for their
promotional activities (Cateora and et.al., 2020). These include the traditional marketing
channels, which make use of numerous traditional marketing tools and the digital marketing
channels, which make use of new and innovative marketing tools through the internet. Marketers
make use of both these channels of marketing because of the numerous and immense
opportunities these provide towards their successful marketing operations.
MAIN BODY
Small sized enterprises that operate within the UK include all business organisations that
employ 10-49 distinct external individuals for their operations and functions. Similarly, medium
sized enterprises that operate within the UK include all business organisations that employ
distinct external individuals within the ranges of 49 to 249 within the business for their various
tasks, operations and functions. On the other hand large sized enterprises that operate within the
UK include all the business organisations that employ over 250 distinct external individuals for
their diverse and various operations and functions. The scope, scale and operations of such small,
medium and large sized business organisation are completely distinguished from one another,
and so are their productivity, profitability, customer base and market share metrics (Teufer,
Sommer and Affengruber, 2018).
Issues faced by small medium-sized companies and large size industries
The small sized companies face difficulty to bring on innovation within marketing factors
to generate higher growth within business scenario and to be pragmatic to bring on new advances
within business scenario due to limited budgets. The small size companies are not only

functionally less operational and less approachable towards customers with less functional
marketing paradigms, less functional channels of advertisements due to non-technical
advancement and less resources which not only impact the goodwill and consumer market share
reach but are also non prone to effective functional structure. The small and medium-sized
companies face difficulties and issues pertaining to promotional avenues, non-effective
marketing paradigms which are making various challenges arise for new companies who wish to
become new entrepreneur with various structural dis functionalities. There is less resource of
finance to invest in management needs and to factorize wider scale services for gaining higher
rational advancement with changing business world demands. The small medium-sized
companies are less technically advanced which hinders growth and functional paradigms on
pertaining innovative business demands which will factor growth for longer working
hemispheres (ren,Torkar and Feldt, 2017). These challenges are nit only making small medium-
sized companies less advantageous to competition and technology deficit , but with increasing
competition there is higher demand of innovation and creativity within consumers to bring on
best factors of rational working efficiency. The economy has major part of mall medium-sized
companies who are entering and placing themselves within business world to bring on new
synergy of higher growth, but these challenges and increasing recession within business
economy gives huge challenges of profitability and revenue streaming.
The challenges faced by large companies within global industry are that there is higher
competitive business world where new companies and brands are entering to bring on wider
scale services where there is massive advancement of innovation and development (Choshin,
and Ghaffari, 2017). There is larger competition and technology advancement coming up within
business world due to0 programming out higher strength, larger vision and higher competition
which has been increasingly becoming huge challenge to keep higher advancement and
technically progression with changing external factors. Leaders in production departments must
motivate employees and other team members to use the latest new technology standards in
bringing recycle products and smart solutions to waste management. Team leaders take training
session of employees where they are given the latest research knowledge on smart solutions,
which is increasing the cost structure highly. Motivation among employees working in company
to reach the set benchmarks of company goals with high efficiency and build strong innovative

potentialities to learn skills is also one of the profound challenge impacting its functional
strengths.
Harnessing innovation in parameters of growth in company needs support and commitment of all
organization as whole to establish smart waste management techniques. Culture has big role to
increase the revenue generation and profitability margins in company as whole brand value is
enlarged on global level and the employees of company are real face value. These external
business factors enables us to analyse how the various challenges within big industry companies
which are highly becoming issues and problematically reducing their goodwill (Batista, Dal Mas
and Garlatti, , 2017)ï‚· Innovation
There is a lot of investment which is required in innovation of products and services so
that the companies can get a unique feature and a competitive advantage. Improvement is very
important and a large organization has made a place for them in the market which they have to
maintain so that there is a better functioning and the brand image is maintained in the market.
For innovation it is very important for the organizations to have a high technological measures
and investment which the company has made in this aspect so that the productivity of the
organization is going to be higher (Reyes-Mercado and Verma, 2020). Tesco is having a lot of
technological changes all the time because they have a high demand in the market and the
company also has to maintain the quality of the products which the organization is dealing in so
that there is a better functioning. For having a long term vision this is a very essential factor for
the organization but Pure planet do not have a lot of economic stability for investing much in this
aspect which makes the company not reach out to a large customer base. The profitability in the
market has to be high so that there is a better functioning of the organization in the market and
the profit can be used in innovative factors for the benefit of the company.
Innovation needs a lot of skilled and experience employees which a large organization
can afford for a longer run in the market because the wages which are given or motivation which
is given to the employees is also high than a PURE PLANET in the country. Now the wages are
increasing for the employees and fixed as well but here are a lot of motivational theories and
methods which a large organization can use where as a Pure Planet may not be able to use them
effectively (Nijssen, 2017). Innovations are more in a PURE PLANET but the productivity is
low but in a large organization like Tesco there is a high productivity and the innovations are low

in the market. It is because of innovations there is an increase in the brand value of the
organization which is a very good factor for the company and the organization will be able to
have higher profit margins which are good for the organization. The services are going to be low
in a PURE PLANET but in a large organization there is a lot of experience because of which the
company is going to have loyal customer base in the market.ï‚· Word of Mouth
This is mostly used by PURE PLANET ’s in the market of the country so that there is not
much of investment in the organization which has to be done by the company. In UK there are
79% of the companies which are PURE PLANET ’s which are having a great influence of the
economic stability in the country (Crick, 2019). Word of mouth is not a marketing strategy
which is focused on by a large organization in the market because the large organizations have
an investment to make in the market. Small organizations do not have so much of investment to
make which is why it is very important for the small organizations to be able to reach out to the
customers with a word of mouth so that there is a better functioning in the market. The
competition is increasing and a word of mouth is not enough for any organization to get in a
large customer base. There have to be unique ideas and advertisements on televisions, radios, etc
from time to time so that there is a better functioning of the organization in the market (Nouri
and et.al., 2018).
Word of Mouth is a very slow process which is why the PURE PLANET ’s take a lot of
time to capture the market and expand themselves further because they have to get in a lot of
experience so that they can have a better functioning. PURE PLANET ’s have a great
opportunity to grow PURE PLANET in the market where as a large organization is focused on
the products which they already have in the market (Toghraee and et.al., 2017). Monitoring the
employees is very important in a Pure Planet and a large organization so that the objectives of
the organization can be met with the help of the employees in the organization so that there is a
better functioning. PURE PLANET ’s in the market do not take a lot of risks in the market
because they have not established themselves in the market which is a very essential factor.
Large organizations take a lot of risks because they know that there is experience after all the
risks but these risks are well measured so that the organization does not have to face any loss.
Autonomous learning skills
Document Page
There is a requirement of a lot of skills which can make a Pure Planet and a large
organization have a reputation in the market if these factors are followed in the organization for a
better functioning. The competition has increased in the country which has to have a better
functioning so that the organization can have a better functioning so that the organization is
going to make the high reputation and brand image in the market which is a very important
factor (Whalen and et.al., 2016).
ï‚· Problem Solving skills
There are a lot of problems which come in a PURE PLANET to function in the market
because they do not have a lot of experience in the market. The leaders have to be hired who are
very effective and experienced so that the right measures can be taken at the right time. There are
79% of PURE PLANET ’s in United Kingdom and the economy is dependent on that factor
which is why the government is also helping the businesses to grow in the country so that there is
a better functioning (Alqahtani and Uslay, 2020). For example Pure Planet is focused on
developing the employee’s problem solving skills so that they can have a better functioning in
the organization so that there is a better functioning in the organization. During production there
are a lot of measures and decisions which have to be made on spot so that the productivity
remains effective and for that there have to be the right skills in employees so that it can take
place. The employees have to have a common understanding in the organization so that they can
achieve their objectives and goals effectively and on time. There has to be a proper planning in
the market so that there is a better functioning which is going to increase the productivity of the
company so that there is a better functioning.
ï‚· Effective communication and self management
There has to be a strong management in the organization so that the communication in the
organization is better automatically which would help the company to have a better functioning.
There are a lot of targets which have to be met by PURE PLANET ’s in the country only then
they have a future in the market and that is going to make the company be recognized in the
market. There has to be a sense of motivation in the employees so that the employees give their
best in the company so that there is a better functioning. There are sessions which are held in
Pure Planet so that there is an exchange of ideas and changes which the company has adapted to
so that there is a better functioning in the market. There will be trained as well for the employees
in the organization so that they know the aims and objectives of the organization so that they

know what has to be done by the organization so that the organization will be able to have a
strong team which leads to higher productivity in the market (Hong and Yang, 2019). There has
to be a sense of motivation which comes from self management in the organization so that there
is a better functioning. The employees have to evaluate ad monitor themselves for the tasks they
are taking part in so that there is a better functioning which is going to help the company to have
a better reputation. The environment for the employees has to be safe and healthy so that the best
can be taken out of the company. There has to be a healthy marketing environment in the
organization so that the company can have a brand image and reputation and a better sense of
direction in the market which is going to be very useful for the companies (Jacob, 2017).ï‚· Learning skills
The employees of Pure Planet’s always have to be prepared to learn more so that they can
make the company have a better functioning and the responsibilities of the employees get higher.
Pure Planet’s gain knowledge and experience in the market because of which there are a lot of
changes which the company has to make so that there is a better functioning in the market. Pure
planet is having a right set of employees which is helping the company to get in changes
effectively in the market which is a good factor for the company. There is a culture in the
organization which motivates the employees from time to time so that there is a better
functioning and the organization will be able to get a competitive advantage very quickly in the
market of the country. There are a lot of activities which are taking place in the company which
have to be monitored and evaluated by the leaders of the organization from time to time so that
there is a better productivity in the market (Rezvani and Fathollahzadeh, 2020). There are a lot of
complex measures which have to be taken by the organization which is going to make the
company have a lot of experience but they are very risky for the company to take. The
employees have to have a strong base for themselves in the organization and should be prepared
for the best of the organization because in Pure Planet there is a lot of learning and after learning
there would be changes which are going to take place so that the organization can have a better
functioning.
Core ideas and concepts evaluated with conclusion
Small business marketing environment keeps wide differences to medium-sized scale
businesses in term of concepts and ideas. The differences between small business and medium-
sized business are analyzed on paradigms of general forces, bit complexity in organizational
Document Page
structures, certainty and relativity (Hoque and Awang, 2016). The brief study has been
summarized with discussion that small medium-sized enterprise marketing is widely different
from medium and large corporations. The reason behind is that medium-sized and large
corporations has good financial performance as compared Pure Planet that causes such kind
businesses invest huge funds on marketing and promotion activities. Promotion activities are the
major source to attract customers for buying products and builds good relationship with
customer. Thus, promotion tools play essential role in marketing of products and services. The
major crisis faced by Pure Planet are some functional areas i.e. financial management,
monitoring performance and matrix to give quick regulation in emergency situation. With these
issue Pure Planet unable to marketing it’s products and services effectively to the customer as
well as reduces sustainability of these type business in the well-developed countries. Due to
weak financial status and brand value in offering users services are directly impacted in certain
areas whereas investment is highly required by small-size business structure. Weak workforce
and poor vision of highly skilled management in small-sized business directly get negative
impact on expansion of marketing activities as well as brand value. This report has been
concluded with analysis of comparison between standards marketing theory and current practice
of Pure Planet along with deep explanation of business theories such as Ansoff’s matrix, Swot
analysis and Porter’s five forces model.
The brief study has summarized certain autonomous learning skills which are highly
essential for individuals to improve as they enable to give productivity in their working and
perform effectively with a set of employability skills i.e. innovative learning skills, problem-
learning skills and effectively communication for self-management (Hoque, Awang and
Gwadabe, 2018). It is crucial for the organizations to lead high productivity skills and
competencies in their staff to reach benchmarks in performance levels of the organization’s aims
and maintains healthy working environment in the workplace. With these skills individuals
