Introduction
The business environment is very dynamic in nature and with respect to this, it becomes
considerably important for the different organizations to ensure that they have capable teams
which will work towards the overall goals of the organization, and coordinate amongst
themselves to ensure that the overall goals of the firm are achieved (Gilson et al. 2015).
However, as the different branches of an organization are located in different parts of the world,
the concept of virtual teams have become considerably popular. The main aim of the essay is to
present an argument for the use of Virtual teams for the organization which ensures that the
communication among the main centres can be maintained successfully.
Arguments
The primary reason why the virtual teams are better teams because they are affordable in
nature. Maintaining the team is not an easy task and with respect to this, it is required to be
understood that, the maintenance of a virtual team is comparatively affordable. This is because
all the team members are located at different parts of the world and are connected with the
medium of the internet (Guinalíu and Jordán 2016). Hence, with respect to this, if the
organization goes for the concept of a virtual team, they will be able to save costs and gain the
required expertise for themselves. In addition to this, apart from being a cheap alternative, the
virtual team helps in the accumulation of the world`s best talent. It may not be necessary that all
the talented members may be present in a single country and hence, by using virtual teams, the

best talent can be acquired. Moreover, as the compensation and wage rate structure is different in
the different countries, the firms will be able to ensure that they are able to take advantage of low
cost countries (Wieland and Wolf 2016).
The second reason, why the organization, ABC Company is being recommended to make
use of the virtual teams is because, the virtual teams encourage diversity. The diversity of an
organization is very crucial as it supports a multicultural view and provides a global solution to
the different problems being faced by the organizations (Liao 2017). As the views will be global
in nature, it is bound to increase the productivity of the organization and will benefit the overall
performance. When the diverse employees will be bound to work separately, they tend to
become more responsible and contribute well to the overall objective of the firm. Hence, with
respect to this, it becomes considerably important, that instead of forming a team in the office
and investing more in in-house teams, the ABC company needs to undertake considerable
measures and ensure that, they are willing to bring in flexibility within the realm of the firm and
this flexibility then encourages the employees to perform in a better manner and ensure overall
success in the long run.
Although the formation of virtual teams has various benefits, retaining the central team at
the office may be beneficial as well. This is because, the concept of virtual teams is entirely
relying on the concept of the internet and the information technology. In case, this gets disrupted,
the entire communication system will fail. Hence, the formation of the traditional teams and their
maintenance would be considerably good because, it helps in maintaining better communication
amongst the different team members and can assist the firm in ensuring that, they are able to
make faster decision making as well which will ensure that the firm is able to attain better
opportunities and improve its competitive positioning in the market. However, it is always not

necessary that the traditional face to face teams will have the talent and the expertise which is
required to deal with the different organizational members and the different dynamic scenarios
(Purvanova 2014). Hence, with respect to this, it can be largely understood that, although the
traditional teams help in better decision making, they often lack the expertise which is crucial in
a firm and it is because of this, that the virtual teams are much better for the overall welfare of
the firm.
Conclusion
Therefore, from the given analysis, it can be largely understood that, the virtual teams are
the new paradigm of operations and it is for this purpose, that it becomes considerably important
for any business organization to ensure that instead of going for the traditional face to face
teams, they opt for the new age virtual teams which will assist the firm in gaining the expertise
which they require and in successfully completing their tasks. The essay outlined and presented
the arguments for the development of the virtual teams for the organization and defined its
importance and usefulness.
