The company that I have selected, for which I am going to work, is Walmart. Walmart is
a multinational organization of retail business. The organization is American and it operates a
chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores, headquartered
in Bentonville, Arkansas.
I will be assuming the role of a sales employee in Walmart. My communication skills
shall help me to interact with the customers in a proper manner. I will be a specialist in selling
home products and I shall sell different kinds of product relating to houses and homes. Home
products shall include furniture for homes, kitchen appliances like microwave, toaster,
dishwasher, dining items. Home products also include materials of home décor, bedding and
bathroom appliances.
To work in the position of a sales employee, a particular individual should possess the
knowledge and skills to perform the tasks in relation to the area of sales. There shall be scope for
promotion in the organization. An individual may study the certified course relating to ‘Sales and
Marketing’. The minimum age to start a job at Walmart is sixteen years, either as part time or as
full time (Wang et. al., 2019).
Other skills that are required to become a sales employee involve the communication and
interaction skills with people. Any prior work experience of an individual in the past, relating to
sales, would help to increase the skills and expertise of that individual. Honesty and fairness
should be present in a particular sales employee (Ogilvie et. al., 2017).

Arkansas. Walmart Company has eleven thousand and five hundred and three stores as well as
clubs in twenty seven nations. Walmart is regarded as the largest company of the world in
relation to revenue of the world, which amounts to 514.405 billion dollars, as per the list of

The top competitors of Walmart include Kroger, Amazon, Tesco, Costco, Best Buy,
Carrefour, Home Depot, Target and ALDI Einkauf (McMann, 2019).

The name of the client is Mr. Chris Adams. He is the owner of a café named ‘Adams
Café’. He is 30 years old. He has good knowledge and idea in relation to home appliances and
furniture. The monthly income of Mr. Adams is sixty thousand dollars. Mr. Adams is married to
his wife whose name is Alicia Adams. He has twin girls of the age 5 years. He has a friendly and
an amicable nature, which helps to attract customers for the café. He is regarded as a loyal
customer of Walmart.
Mr. Adams has decided to meet with me in order to discuss a problem relating to a
furniture that he has been facing after he bought the furniture from Walmart. The furniture that
he bought had to be installed. However, during the process of installation, Mr. Adams was
unable to put together all the parts of the furniture. He was having a problem to install the
furniture in a proper manner.
I met with the client (Mr. Adams) at his workplace, that is, his café. Mr. Adams
particularly mentioned that he was having problems in relation to the installation of the furniture
in his café. He also showed me the place where the furniture had to be installed. He wanted me
to install the furniture for him. I was the key decision maker because the client needed my help
to install the furniture. The primary decision that I had to make was how to install the furniture in
his café and in which corner of the café. My decision shall relate to the satisfaction of the
customer as I had to listen to the opinions of the client and then suggest my opinions in relation
to the furniture.
The mandatory additional information that I should know is, firstly, I need to see the bill
relating to the purchase of the furniture. Secondly, I need to know which part of the furniture is

causing the problem relating to installation. After knowing the aforementioned information I
shall be able to make the final decision.
Task 4
In order to provide a solution to the problem, I shall scrutinize the issue intensely, and I
shall look for other replacements if needed. In the first instance, it needs to be checked that what
the actual cause of the problem is. If anything is discovered that such problem is being caused
because of the fault of the company, then a new set of furniture shall be provided to them. Or
else, a minimum cost may be charged to the client for any kind of repair.
There are various features of the furniture that has been bought by the client. It includes a
smooth surface, amalgamation of various materials, universal designs, standard dimensions and
little decoration. The benefits in relation to the furniture shall be available to the customer after it
is bought by the customer.
It would be beneficial to have a website as it shall be able to display the latest pictures of
the furniture models and the customer shall be able to know the updated information through the
website.
