Research Project: Training and Development at Marriott Hotel

This research project investigates the impact of training and development on employee performance, using Marriott Hotel as a case study. The project includes an introduction outlining the importance of training in human resource management, research objectives to identify and assess training effectiveness, and data analysis using a thematic evaluation approach. The analysis reveals insights into training practices, employee satisfaction, and performance enhancement. Recommendations are provided to optimize training programs. INTRODUCTION
 Training and development is an important concept of human resource management
which is focuses on the employee’s performance.
 It is a kind of process that is used to shape the attitude, skills, knowledge of an
individual so that they will be able to perform well at the work environment.
 The present research project is based on Marriott Hotel which is a multinational firm
that offer its services throughout world

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
 To identify the effectiveness of training and development practices which are adopted
by Marriott Hotel at their workplace.
 To assess the current performance of staff members who are working at Marriott
Hotel.
 To evaluate the impact of training and development programs on the performance of
staff members.

DATA ANALYSIS
 Data analysis is the most essential part of research project as through this overall
evaluation can be performed of training and development.
 The data can be analysed on the basis of qualitative method and for this thematic
evaluation approach has been selected so that overall evaluation can be take place.

Theme 1: Respondents says they got the training at workplace after
recommendation which is given by supervisor.

Theme 2: Training and development programs are conducted at Marriott
hotel on quarterly basis.

Theme 3: Respondents are strongly agreed that training programs can help
the employees in enhancing their knowledge and skills.

Theme 4: Yes, training programs can enhance the employee’s performance.

Theme 5: Overall productivity and employee performance can be enhanced
after conducting the training and development programs.

Theme 6: Staff members are highly satisfied with the training and
development practices which are conducted at Marriott hotel.

RECOMMENDATIONS
There are some recommendations which are stated below:
 All the training and development practices which are conducted at work environment
should be related to the job functions.
 The external training should be provided by the higher authority of company on
continuous basis so that staff members will be able to know about more regarding to
their job or work.
