In early adulthood, the physical abilities are normally at their peak. Marvin, having got
the stroke in his early adulthood, might have experienced a decrease in the growth of his sensory
activities. Stroke for Marvin affected most of his emotional feelings due to the "death of his
brain". Although Marvin was expressing his emotions, he did not have the feeling in the mind.
Arlene felt that the husband was not appreciating and found that he was never the person he was;
hence she felt that she had lost her best friend.
Since job satisfaction peaks at middle adulthood, not only because of the high wages are
given while working but the capability of making greater decisions that affect work, thereby
moving from a worker to a supervisor then to the manager due to the effectiveness and the
productivity of an individual. Marvin says that his ability to make decisions is low, hence his
inability to work in his early adulthood. Marvin has the feeling of loneliness and emotional
isolation due to the stroke and his inability to express his feelings and work with other age
groups. Marvin has some doubts doubting his abilities and feels shame due to his condition.
Marvin's state is in stagnation mode; when he realized that he could not offer even a thing in the
community or the family, he had to feel that he isn't the one required in the generation hence the
stagnation nature.
