Introduction
The paper will focus on impact of mass tourism sectors towards the irresponsible
market. The paper has provided a case study on the negative impact of mass tourism in the
economy. The possible solutions for the case study has been discussed with the support of
another case study where mass communication was found to be effective. The main purpose
of this report is to evaluate the mass tourism sectors towards the tourism development.
Discussion
Mass tourism- Irresponsible marketing
The case study has discussed on the mass tourism of Bahamas, a country situated in
West Indies. The author has discussed on the lack of ownership and financial leakage in the
mass tourism sector of the country. Many of the Caribbean’s move to this country as a
tourism destination. Hence, the industries has continuously evolved in terms of land sector.
But, the land is mostly owned by the foreign business. This has resulted in larger tourism
expenditures and less local economic development. It caused loss in agricultural land, and
damage to the natural resources & environmental resources. Mass tourism has resulted in
additional use of land and more prices in the real estate. This affects the political and
economic constraints of the small hotels (Researchgate, 2020). Financial constraints of small
hotels are affected Small hotels found difficulty to compete with the large hotels. Hence,
mass tourism has negatively affected the country’s economy and the global markets (Moon,
2018).
Case Study on effective mass tourism
The case study has discussed on the impact of mass tourism on the stakeholders of
Crete Island of Greece. In traditional days, the development of heavy industries was due to
change in demand and trends of the tourism sectors. There were development in tourism
industry known as mass tourism sectors that leads to development of sports tourism which
was a part of mass tourism. Mass tourism become the identity of the Island. Sports and
tourism provided services and infrastructure to the tourist. The state government supported
the private investments in this tourism sector for the development of tourism world. The state
government had made certain incentives & policy schemes for the tourist sectors. They

schemed that both the private and public sector should work together and have common
policy for the development of the tourism sector. The government also mentioned the
importance of coordinative, competitive and infrastructure in Crete tourism sector. This
allowed the Crete tourism sector to be more competitive, develop new experiences and
remain in new trends of the business (Gaitanakis, Vrondou & Leivadi, 2019). The local
society participated in the tourism culture. Hence, the region existed in the international and
national economic trends of the business. The region has efficiently planned the business and
then started the tourism business sector.
Solution for Irresponsible marketing
Bahamas tourism sector should focus on developing the mass tourism sector by properly
planning the sector. The government must set policy for all the tourism hotels to work
collaborately with each other and develop the tourism world. The government must also
prevent the environmental issues of the business by developing a policy related to natural
resources conservations (Vargas-Sánchez & Moutinho, 2018). This will allow the foreigners
to use less land and also works collaborately with the small hotels for the future economic
growth of the tourism industry. This will also allow the local communities to participate in
the tourism sector (Nafi & Ahmed, 2017). Hence, it is recommended that Bahamas tourism
sector should do proper planning and analysis related to environmental protection and
collaboration with the same hotels. This strategy will develop the country’s mass tourism
sector.
Conclusion
Therefore, it can be concluded that, mass tourism can be developed efficiently by
proper government policy and planning for environmental protection. This will help the
country to collaborate the small hotels and large hotels for the further development of the
tourism sector. Bahamas tourism sector should do proper planning and analysis related to
environmental protection and collaboration with the same hotels. Government must also
prevent the environmental issues of the business by developing a policy related to natural
resources conservations. This will allow the foreigners to use less land and also works
collaborately with the small hotels for the future economic growth of the tourism industry.
This will help the mass tourism sectors to become competitive, meet the currents needs of the
