INTRODUCTION
Study pathway refers to preparatory program that are designed to help international
students to build their skills, knowledge and qualifications that are required for entering into
academic program in international institute. Study pathways are generally for a period of one
academic year and they do not end with degree. Their purpose is to prepare international
students. Masters’ pathway has been considered for this essay in which international students are
prepared for Masters’ degree entrance. Effective study pathway for Master’s degree ensure that
students can enrol at better university however, in order to get into pathway course for Master’s
preparation students are required to pass pathway course at required level.
Master’s Pathway for Study
In this program students who are looking for entrance in foreign country or abroad
institution for their master’s degree completion, but lack necessary requirements. Such students
are prepared through master’s preparation program in relation with pathway to Study. Master’s
degree program is also known as graduate preparation program, and such preparation enables
individuals to get entry in masters’ degree courses in foreign country institutes (Chen and et.al.,
2017). Master’s preparation enables to get entry into excellent universities in foreign country and
provide routes for entry which an individual might not enter otherwise. Selection of master’s
preparation mainly depends on course that individual wish to enter into in foreign country
institution. Master’s preparation starts once individual has completed their graduation. This is
because master’s degree can be achieved once individual has completed their bachelor’s degree.
There are several benefits of study pathway through which individual can enter into international
institutions for master’s degree. Studying abroad allows individual to get international exposure
and that adds value in their skills, knowledge and experience. Later this is useful for their
employability and their career. Master’s preparation is also beneficial as in this individual has
completed their graduation degree from their country and completion of Master’s degree from
international institute increases their worth as employee of potential candidate in a organisation
(Osmani, 2019). Knowledge of different cultures and experience of dealing with people from
different background is also a benefit of studying in foreign and of completing Master’s degree

from foreign institution. There are several institutions that provide Master’s preparation program
related to study pathway. Masters’ preparation program can be taken by different types of
individual such as career enhancers. These are individuals who have some qualification but are
looking to advance their qualification and knowledge through completion of Master’s. Current
students who wish to continue to study for higher education (Reardon, 2020). Those who have
left school, such individuals can also enter into foreign institute through study pathway, because
they are most likely to not meet required criteria for entrance, however through study pathway
they can resume their education. Individuals looking for change in their career, such individuals
who are looking for change in their career hence require additional and different education can
also enter into foreign institution. Anyone who has experience in a professional field however,
they lack official education or qualification, in other words those who has knowledge and
experience but lack degree can also get a degree through pathway to study.
Pathway to study and Master’s preparation is something that require individuals to make
strong efforts, because individuals do not directly get admission, they are required to prepare for
different exams through institutions and providers of pathway of study. They prepare students for
different exams through which they can get admission into international and foreign institutions.
This means that no student can directly enter into institute they are required to meet their criteria
and pass exams and for this study pathway can help them to meet criteria and also to pass
entrance exam required to enter into institutions (McCartney and Metcalfe, 2018). Study
pathway is a way to fast-track career of individuals and also qualifies them to get into a degree in
case individuals do not have required entry requirement to start with for getting admission or
entry for Master’s degree. Master’s pathway programs are very helpful for individuals to get a
Master’s degree without having all required qualities to meet criteria for entry in such course.
Media plays a vital ad most important role in chosen pathway of studies i.e. preparation
of masters degree (Dam and et. al., 2017). HOLMES institute e-learning and IT facilities played
a vital role in helping me in preparing for master’s degree. E- learning helped I increasing
availability of e-library where students can easily browse for required study material. Whenever,
student face any kind of difficulty or issues they can easily reach out IT facilities (lecturers, IT
systems, internet and many more). Each student is provided their own email address o college
and are connected to university’s website that helps in reaching faculties whenever required. Not

only this collaboration of university with other organizations and universities makes it much
easier for students to achieve their desired career goals and move forward on their pathway of
study. This can further help students to prepare for their Masters in a much easier manner.
Current pandemic situation of Covid-19 had directly impacted this pathway to study for
preparation of master degree and had further created issues in moving forward on pathway to
study. This current situation of Coronavirus has impacted my studies my pathway of studies in
both positive ad negative manner. in positive manner this pandemic situation has helped in
developing my research skills so that I can become self-sufficient and can prepare for my
masters solely and independently. It further helped in making resources available whenever
required. Everything has been made available while sitting at home only because of which it was
able to manage my time in an effective and appropriate manner or it can also be said that I was
able to a mange my studious and personal life in an appropriate manner. before this situation it
used to take me more time to reach university for studies but it has helped in saving time because
of which more time for studies got available.
But has impacted or affected me in more negative manner rather than in positive manner.
due to Covid-19 situation, I was struck at home and was not allowed to travel as a result studying
abroad for master’s plan got post- ponded due to this situation. Before this situation I had
thought that I would be asking for help and guidance personally form faculties and from
University but due to this situation entry within University was restricted. Before this situation if
any student had applied for training or personal coaching then it was postponed or cancelled.
Most of the coaching and training occur on online portals or channels. But it is not possible for
students to get proper and appropriate guidance from online channels in an appropriate manner
because there is more disturbance. Most of the universities and colleges either cancelled or
postponed their exams due to this pandemic situation so that this situation can be controlled. Due
to this pathway of study of most of the studies got affected (Mohamed, Salama and Schaalan,
2019).
But this situation had created various kinds opportunities for studies. It has helped studies
to get comfortable with new technologies, get aware about new technologies and application that
can be used by them for preparation. It has further opened various job and studies opportunities
that can be grabbed by students. Students need not to waste their time in this pandemic situation
in fact they can utilize this time for enhancing their knowledge, getting experience while

working from home for a top organization which is fruitful or them in future when they will be
perusing their master’s degree because any kind of personal working experience of studies
increases placement chances when master’s degree is finished.
Students can utilize this pandemic situation and can grab this chance to take a year to try
different study courses. Or international studies it is one of the best opportunities because it will
help them in getting a better idea of what they want to achieve and in which field they want to
move forward. They can prepare themselves using online platforms so that they can easily get
enrolled in the university and prepare for future studies in an appropriate manner. it can also be
said that students today can focus upon using kinds of IT facilities for preparing themselves to
move forwards on their own path of success.
CONCLUSION
On the basis of above discussion, it can be concluded that study pathway are those ways
through which individuals prepare themselves for admission and entrance into international
institutions for academic course. Concerned with master’s preparation or graduate preparation
program, these are programs through which individuals are prepared for entrance into Master’s
degree courses in foreign institution. Those who provide Study pathway programs work on
enabling individuals to get entry and also help them to meet all requirements of courses of
Master’s degree in foreign institution by international students.
