Project
AI Summary
This project proposal outlines a research project focused on the history of mathematics and its continuing influence on modern mathematical principles. The research aims to investigate how historical mathematical theories and concepts, developed by past scholars, are still relevant and utilized across various contemporary research fields. The project will address key research questions, including the impact of mathematical history on modern aspects, the historical specifications of mathematics, the current state of modern mathematics, and the conclusions that can be drawn by comparing the historical and modern perspectives. The methodology will involve secondary data collection, gathering information from journals and research papers, with a qualitative analysis approach due to the nature of the data. Ethical considerations include ensuring data privacy, obtaining consent, and proper citation of sources. The project timeline spans from October 23, 2017, to November 27, 2017, with specific deadlines for each stage, from preliminary library research to the final draft submission. The proposal also includes a list of key literature and a detailed timeline for project activities, ensuring a structured and comprehensive approach to the research.

BA Mathematics Education
1. Proposed Title of Project: The History of Mathematics and how it impacts on our Mathematics
today
2. Rationale: The report is targeted for the research based on the history of the mathematics and the
theories that has been developed by the mathematical scholars in the past. Most of the theories are
still followed in the modern day world and are used in various fields of research
3. Main Research Question:
a) How does the impact of the history of mathematics affect the modern mathematical aspect?
b) Theme 1: What is the historical specification of mathematics?
c) Theme 2: What is the modern aspect of mathematics?
d) Theme 3: What conclusion can be drawn from the historical specification and the modern aspect
of mathematics?
4. Research Methodology/Method(s)
The method followed for the research of this topic is the secondary method of data collection. In this
process the data and information is collected from various journals and research papers collected
from various sources. For this paper the qualitative analysis has been conducted due to the
unavailability of the figurative data.
5. Ethical issues to be considered:
The following conditions are to be followed for the process of secondary data collection:
1. The data is to be cleared out from the names of the participants of the research.
2. The data to be collected is to be in full consent of the provider.
3. The analysis of the data should not draw out the identification of the participants.
4. If the data collected or used is from a copyright source then correct citation of the names
needs to be done.
5. The use of the data should not proceed with any kind of damage or distress to the
researcher or the participant.
6. Key Literature
1. Eyyam, R. and Yaratan, H.S., 2014. Impact of use of technology in mathematics lessons on
student achievement and attitudes. Social Behavior and Personality: an international journal,
