TITLE:
To evaluate the modern approaches used to master students skills in Maths and English.
Introduction
Learning for mastery is considered as an instructional strategy and educational
philosophy, which is firstly formed by the Benjamin Bloom in the year of 1968. Mastery
learning basically maintains that an individual or majorly students must attain a level of mastery
in prerequisite knowledge before moving forward to learn subsequent data or information. If an
individual does not attain mastery on the test, they are given additional support in learning and
reviewing the information and then tested again (Kline, 2014). In the 21st century skills are
majorly comprise as skills, abilities, and learning dispositions that have been determined as being
needed for attaining growth and success in 21st century society and workplaces by educators, an
organisation leaders, academics, and governmental agencies. This also recognised as a part of a
growing international movement which is concerning on the skills needed for students to master
in preparation for success in a rapidly changing, digital society. The project is based on
evaluating the modern approaches that are applied to master students skills in maths or English
as these are the two major subjects, and the knowledge regarding theses subjects are required to
attaining growth and success.
TASK 1
1.1 The purpose of action research
The research into consideration is based on the modern approaches used to master
students skills in Maths and English. The potential purpose for conducting the research is to
enhancing the idea and knowledge base of learner in the specified area of research thus learning
is considered as a process of acquiring new or modifying existing idea, knowledge, behaviour,
skills, values or preferences. In developing students learning the proper idea about Maths and
English is required thus these are the two common subjects that plays significant role in an
individuals development or growth. This investigation work is based on the aim of "To evaluate
the modern approaches used to master students skills in Maths and English".

1.2 The key features of the action research process.
Actions research is also considered as an investigation which initiated to resolve an
immediate issue or a reflective process of progressive issue solving led through individuals
working with others in teams or as a part of a community of practices in respect to develop the
way they address issue and resolve the conflict (Kilpatrick, 2014). An action investigation is also
refers as a systematic multi stage cyclical procedure that seeks to develop practice by the
execution of informed and incremental change. Action research is not done in isolation but it
seeks out the opportunities for collaboration and the participation of other agents. Action
research has various features in which some are associated as under:
A consideration of action (reflection and reconnaissance);
Execution of an action for improvement to an individuals practice;
The use of data collection on a specified action;
A review of the action by consideration of data on a chosen area of study;
The determination of foster opportunities for rising intervention.
With the help of each stage an investigator's learning is articulated and reinvested into the
process. In the process learning occurs for practice, about practice and through practice.
1.3 The implications of a model of action research.
An investigation is considered as a means to action, either to develop a practice or to take
action in respect to deal with a existing issue or problem. An action research model is refers as a
method to facilitate change through helping include the clients system in active learning,
problem solving process and problem finding.

Action research is a systematic procedure in which encompass on various aspects like
identifying or defining an issue, action planning which considering alternative course of action,
taking action, this is based on selecting a course of action, Evaluating in which studying the
consequences of an action has been implemented and specifying learning in which general
findings are ascertained (Patten and Newhart, 2017). The major implication of action research is
that there are various alternative tools are available and the major concern of an investigator is to
select the most suitable tool in respect to discussing an issue in appropriate manner. Another
implication is the systematic arrangement of research application in respect to reaching at the
potential outcome or results.

TASK 2
2.1 An area of practice for action research.
This is the primary consideration of an investigator is to select a specified practice that
helps in providing a significant direction to resolve a problem in appropriate manner. In this
present action research the chosen area of practice is based on the analysis of the modern
approaches used to master students skills in Maths and English (Biggs and Collis, 2014). This is
a wide area of academic research which can be effectively understood by implementing
objectives and the significant objectives of this particular research are associated as under:
To understand the concept of modern approaches used to master students skills in Maths
and English.
To evaluate the effectiveness of modern approaches that affect the teaching learning
process.
To determine the purpose of developing an effective teaching approach towards the
improving functional skills in Maths and English.
The aim and objectives are effective in providing a significant direction to the
investigator to implement an investigation in right direction for the purpose of overcome the
issue.
2.2 A Clear intervention strategy Plan
An intervention strategy is basically refers as a study plan which is developed with a
Course Progress Advisor in respect to address and reduce the causes of academic failure during
during the implementation of a study. The present action research is based on the study of
analysing of the modern approaches that are used to master students skills in Maths and English.
This is an academic research in which proper study has been provided to the students in
developing their master skills in Maths and English (Schoenfeld, 2014). For this action research,
the most suitable intervention strategy is presentation, thus it is most applied and useful tool in
providing significant idea and knowledge based to the learners. This is a practical
implementation of an idea which helps the students in gaining proper idea and knowledge in
regards to a specified subject area.

2.3 Justification on the choice and timescales of an intervention strategy.
An intervention is also recognised as a combination of program elements or strategies
that are developed to produce behaviour changes or improve skills or learning among individuals
or an entire population. Interventions may include educational programs, new or stronger
policies, improvements in the environment. A plan is effective in providing a systematic
direction to implement all activities that are related with a specified study in appropriate manner.
Basis Time

The proper knowledge has been provided within the time duration of 1 month as 4 weeks
has been taken to render potential skills in regards to maths and English learning. The tool or
presentation is the best suitable method for providing proper and effective knowledge as in this
proper presentation has been prepared that covers the all basic aspects of the chosen area of
study. This is an easy and reliable method that provides significant direction to learn and observe
things at practical basis. Time scale plan about month is suitable to providing knowledge and
resolving the issue of students.
2.4 The ethical and political considerations and issues of confidentiality will be observed in
practice.
Ethical and political consideration are the primary key for an investigator as it is the prior
responsibility of the research to follow all ethics and norms in respect to reaching at the potential
outcome without facing any kind of issues and conflicts. Researcher Seeking to safeguard the
involvement of all affected by the investigation, involving considering the possible consequences
of the chosen study or the misuse of the findings. Researcher should also consider time and cost
as their prior need thus proper time management or cost recognition is required to implement all

the activities in proper manner. Researcher should ensure their respondents about the safety and
security of their personal information.
2.5 Implementation of a clear intervention strategy.
The chosen strategy for this particular action research is presentation, thus it is widely
applied and effective tool which helps both learner and knowledge provider in better
implementation of idea with the help of authentic information via presenting them in
presentation. In this professors are using presentation to making their students understand in
regards to the study or English and Maths. In the first week proper presentations is created in
which subject related contents are mentioned and then on the second week presentation will be
presented in front of students in respect to providing information related with subject and than
next week a questions and answer round has been conducted that support the argument of the
presentation as in this questions are being asked from the side of students to the teacher in
regards to any kind of issue related with subject and answers were provided in descriptive
manner. In the fourth week for resolving the issues related with maths proper models and
practical examples will be applied to resolving the queries of students and in the fifth week a
regular special classes will be provided to the students, the classes will be taken by the high
profile professors who are having good command in English.
