Task 1
Introduction
MATTAC is a multimedia company which deals with videos and pictures and it has
around 5 editing suites in London. For which they required the high-level hardware,
networks and communication technology to improve the security of their data and send
and receive the large media files from their offices. This task will describe the different
types of hardware to store the large amount of data and steps to reduce security related
issues.
Hardware required for MATTAC
There are many hardware and devices developed by information technology to meet
the requirement of MATTAC which are the following:
Computer system
Camera with lenses for data capture
Hard drive disk to store data
Video card for example, VGA, DVI, HDMI and Display port
With the help of all these devices the company can capture data and store their
personal data files and they can adopt the video card or graphics card to produce the
output image on a computer screen. There are few advanced video cards that offer
video capture, and the ability to interconnect multiple devices and monitor.
Security is one of the biggest issues faced by this company and there are many kinds
of error occur during the communication process, for example, hacking, data breaching,
distortion losses, and many more. Mainly, hackers attack the network devices of the
company after that they can easily enter into the personal system of employees. There
are many cyber-crimes also occur in this company, for example, ransom ware, denial of
service attack, phishing, wanna cry and many more. To avoid such kind of issues
MATTAC can adopt advanced security tools and can use the following steps and
techniques:
Keep update software on a regular basis
Use only authentic servers

Adopt encryption for communication purpose
Use a firewall and antivirus to detect the traffic signal and malware
Turn on security tools and prepare a weekly report
Employees should ensure that they use only company networks and authentic
networks for communication purpose
Conclusion
This task described the various kinds of hardware, steps of data capture, and storage
methods. Therefore, if MATTAC follows all these steps and techniques then they can
improve the efficiency of their system and networks. They can use the cryptography
technology to control and monitor the issues face d by the MATTAC during data
transmission and it also provide many features like detection of traffic and viruses,
protect private data, and improve efficiency of the system. It is more reliable because it
converts data into a form of code which cannot be accessed by hackers
Task 2
Introduction
The aim of this task is to identify the different types of hardware and technology which
will use to meet the requirements of the consumers. This task is divided into main two
parts for example, hardware needed for MATTAC and different types of cables and
network protocols.
Hardware and technology
To meet the requirements of client MATTAC can adopt advanced communication
networks like wireless LAN, WAN, data-link, network protocols like Wi-Fi, Zigbee,
internet of thing, For MATTAC the best appropriate network to use the fibre optic cable
because is much faster but a bit more expensive than the other cables . Wireless is an
advanced communication technology which can be used to send and receive data from
consumers and the main advantage of this network is that it does not require any kind
of connecting wires. There are many other cables, hardware devices and protocols can
be used to improve the efficiency of the communication systems which are described
below:
UTP cable

STP cable
Coaxial cable
Fibre optic cable
Wi-Fi standards like WLAN (802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g)
Unshielded twisted pair is one of the best cables for data communication that has
the potential to improve the overall performance of computer networks. It has the
potential to provide more than 1 gigabit data transfer speed and MATTAC required a
high speed data cable for their computer networks so they can use such kind of cable.
STP cable is very similar to the UTP cable but in which each pair is covered by an extra
copper braid jacket. Coaxial cable is a kind of copper cable which is built with the metal
shield to block signal interference. 802.11 Like WLAN, LAN, 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g
all these are the parts of IEEE standard and 802.11a provides 54 Mbps data speed in the
5GHz frequency band but 802.11b provide around 11 Mbps transmission rate. 802.11g
Wi-Fi standard is an advanced network that has the potential to provide more than 20
Mbps speed .An optical fibre cable, also known as a fibre optic cable, is an assembly
similar to an electrical cable, but containing one or more optical fibres that are used to
carry light. The optical fibre elements are typically individually coated with plastic
layers and contained in a protective tube suitable for the environment where the cable
will be deployed. Different types of cable are used for different applications, for example
long distance telecommunication, or providing a high-speed data connection between
different parts of a building. Optical fibre consists of a core and a cladding layer, selected
for total internal reflection due to the difference in the refractive index between the two.
In practical fibres, the cladding is usually coated with a layer of acrylate polymer or
polyimide. This coating protects the fibre from damage but does not contribute to its
optical waveguide properties.
There are following networking hardware devices can be adopted for this company:
NIC
Switch
Router
Modem
Bridge

NIC is defined as a network interface card which is a computer hardware that allows
computers to communicate over a network or server and MATTAC communicates with
many consumers so they can use. Hub is defined as a network system which is used to
interconnect numbers of networks hosts at a time and MATTAC communicates with
many consumers so they can use such device in their networks
The switch is an advanced system of the hub which is a more effective device as
compared to the hub network and mainly it is used to transfer data from one place to
another.
The modem is a platform to connect the network devices with internet connectivity
by which employees can send information from one location to another.
The router is defined as a network system that has the potential to route traffic
signals from one network to another and MATTAC can use this technology to improve
the security of their personal data.
A bridge is defined as the computer network which provides connection with other
networks that use the same protocol.
There are many network protocols developed by the information technology that
can be used for MATTAC to produce more effective communication systems which are
the following:
OSI model
TCP protocol
Internet protocol (IP)
File transfer protocol (communication methods: STP via internet, FTPS, SFTP,
Connect: Direct and connection via TCP/IP)
Conclusion
This task evaluated the various types of network protocols, hardware and cables
which can be used for MATTAC. It is observed that FDDI is a more effective protocol
which can be used for long distance communication and it has the ability to connect two
or more local area networks at a time. A video conference is a type of communication
channel that connects two or more consumers in different locations for the purpose of
communication. This technique provides transmission of static images and test between

two places and it provides transmission of full motion video images and high quality
audio between two or more users. MATTAC should adopt the UTP cables for improving
the data transfer speed in the networks and they can use NIC network device
Task 3
Introduction
For this company, wireless technology can be used because it is an advanced
process to send and receive data from different consumers and it is very to design and
implement as compare to other. This task will explain the importance of the hardware,
networks and why they are used for MATTAC.
Importance of networks and hardware
Router network play an important role in the area of communication because it
has the ability to control and manage the traffic signals and it routes these traffic from
one network to another. It can be used for this company because it deals with a large
amount of data and consumers for which they want to secure their personal data files
(Pathan, 2016). For security, they can adopt the encryption technology and it is an
important method to address the security related issues and threats. MATTAC use
internet connectivity to share data due to which some cyber-threats and risk occur in
their networks . For which the AES (Advanced encryption standard) type of encryption
technique can be used that convert data into a form of code which cannot be. by the
attack and it required a private key to read the data or information. With the help of this
approach employees of MATTAC can secure their personal data or information and they
can adopt the advanced network hardware like a hub, switches and many more. The
switch is a more effective network because it has the ability to increase the performance
of the communication system. With the help of this process, they can connect two or
more computer devices with each other with the help of UTP or STP data cable
Conclusion
This task identified the role of computer networks, hardware and technology for
MATTAC Company and how they are used for data communication purpose MATTAC
can improve the efficiency of their system. MATTAC should implement the AES type of
encryption technique to improve security of the data.
