Introduction
“Maze Runner” gaming project is developed using Unity Game Engine. The language
used for the development of this gaming project is C#. The project file contains assets
such as C# scripts, animation, prefabs, textures etc. This is a 3D Game designed for
PCs. Talking about the gameplay, the player is trapped inside a Maze and he/she has to
find a way out there before the time runs out. PC controls are [Up, Down, Left, Right
Arrow Key for Movements]. The player can also move the camera angles while playing
from the sidebar game controls. This project is easy to operate and understood by the
users.
Elements Implemented
The elements as defined in unity 3D game development are components which when assembled
together, a game is formed and developed using Unity Engine. Elements in Unity 3D plays a very
important and central role in the overall exercises of interactive game development. It also helps
in adding features which can openly show the objective of the game. In the maze runner game
prototype developed, the following are the elements which are utilized in the development.
a) WSAD-Movement & Jumping
In the development of the maze runner game, WSAD feature to initial movement and
jumping controls was used for this case of the game development.
b) Looking around with the Mouse
In this element, it helps the player of the game to be in a position to use the mouse or the
touch pad to navigate the eyes around looking for the enemies. This is a very common
feature in gaming as it helps for easy navigation around the fight scene as well as being
able to notice and obstacle which might be in hidden generated background.
c) A decent looking maze generation background
The maze background is designed and developed in such a way that is it able to
regenerate itself as the runner is moving around it. For that reason, the runner is not able
to reach the destination as the scene is created in a regeneration technique with new and

better themes available. This create the game to be more enjoyable to the user of the game
or the player of the game.
d) Sophisticated Maze Trap
The maze trap designed and developed for the game is very much sophisticated in such a
way that, it is not easy for the character to get out of the trap for this case.
e) A decent looking level
Every descent game must have level to create game continuity for the player. The level
elements have to be done in ascending order. This element enables the player to move to
the next level when has destroyed all enemies in the first level. This element has been
developed in the maze runner game developed where the gamer will be moving to a more
complex scenario and environment once done with the previous level. The game has five
level from simple to more complex level until the fifth level which is more complex and
final.
f) Characters of the game
The game has a protagonist who is very much deadly this is the main target for the player
of the game as is concerned with destroying the protagonist. There as some elements in
the background like the house, other elements which creates part of the maze trap. Some
physical features like trees, mountains and hills are also present in different levels of the
game. This element creates the reality of the game and make the game to be more realistic
and creative to the prayer.
Game aspect which has changed
The number of levels has changed from three to five. This is because it was noticed that the
players of the game could easily reach the final level with very least difficulty hence the main
reason for the change of the level. This is more important as the harder and stiffer the game
becomes, then the more the player struggles to achieve the best hence creating the enthusiasm of

playing the game. The complexity of the maze background has also changed since the game
becomes more enjoyable when it becomes too challenging for the player to win. When the
character enters the maze, the game has been changed in such a way that, multiple chances for the
character to get out of the maze has been reduced from 3 gaps and loop holes to one hence
making the prayer to think extra in order to save the character whom the player is controlling.
Limitation
The player cannot change the maze background theme unless he character has made him or
herself out of the maze trap. This is the main limitation of the game to the player. The feature that
allows the player to change the maze trap theme at any point and any time, has not been
implemented in the game which was aimed to eliminate players who are in font of changing the
maze trap theme every time they find difficult to solve the current trap. The player can only
change the maze trap to a sophisticated one when the character have made him/ herself out and
also when the player last moved to the next level. Each level the player is allowed to choose the
maze trap and once done, then player must use that particular gun till the level comes to an end.

This is attached to the walls of the maze. The sound is released when character collides with the
walls of the maze.

This is attached to the walls of the maze. The character is able to read and comprehend
instructions from the walls of the maze.

This is attached to the first screen of the game. This introduces the player to the scenes and levels
of the game.
