1PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am writing this personal statement in lieu of my application in the Masters of Business
Administration course in your renowned institution. My undergraduate and graduate studies are
however not related to business but my working experience hand made me realize that business
administration is the right path which I aim to transverse. Now I am taking steps towards
fulfilling my dream to complete a degree in this field of business administration that is very close
to my heart. I want to get my position as a leader of the R&D and manufacturing team in an
internationally reputed automobile company where I will be utilizing my in depth knowledge of
mechanical engineering.
I have developed two sets of goals or the future one of which is short term and another is
long term. The short term goal of my life is to get recruited as the manager of R&D and
manufacturing team within three years after completing my course in your esteemed university
course. The long term goal is related to start my own business. I aim to develop my own business
in my home country within next seven years. By gaining the experience and in-depth knowledge
about business as a manager in the company I will be recruited, I will be initiating my new
entrepreneurial venture. I want to ring the knowledge of technology and business techniques
back to my home country India where there is a huge scope to start my own business.
Entrepreneurship is the prime motivation that has guided me to change my subjects from
science to business. My family back in India has no background of business but I wanted to be a
successful entrepreneur from my childhood when I aimed to be like Mr. Ratan Tata, a business
tycoon operating in the international business. In addition to this, I have gained the motivation to
choose the path of MBA because of its exclusive nature of exposing talents. I have been inspired
by the engineers turned entrepreneurs like Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Henry Ford and Nikola Tesla
who were engineers in their academic lives but utilized their skills and talents for developing

new brands and gained immense admiration. In order to get my career to develop and progress
by following the path I have selected, is to obtain the MBA degree and all the other associated
skills who go with the essentials. In this current situations, to be competitive in most of the
fields, having a global perspective is indispensable. Most of the global and multinational
companies consider Masters of Business Administration to be an essential qualification for
applying in the management positions.
Another driving force which fueled my interest is a desires to become a part of the team
which tries to search to develop a sustainable way of living by the means of innovation. I want to
be a part of the companies that use cutting edge technologies in helping towards the production
and conservation of energy used in the manufacturing of automobile industry. I was during my
academic career when I realized the essentiality of business administration in the world. Through
MBA course I will get the scope to gain knowledge about overall operations of the business like
sales, marketing, customer service and human resource management. These knowledge will be
helping me in becoming a successful entrepreneur. I shall be successful in operation as a
manager and guide all the teams efficiently in my own business.
I consider myself to be an industrious student because I believed the fact that if I put
something into studying, I will be getting more out of it. This not only increases my knowledge
but also my confidence about the subject knowledge. I have spent a considerable amount of time
in researching factors for amalgamating the engineering knowledge with the business
development and management. In order to achieve this goal, I will remain focused on identifying
the most important factors by utilizing my skills and strengths. This process will be guiding me
to achieve the long term goal to become an entrepreneur.

I have always jumped at the opportunity f studying engineering to fulfil my curiosity but
I am willing to complete MBA because I will be able to implement my knowledge of
engineering into the business world. There are extremely talented engineers present in any type
of manufacturing companies who are contributing there in depth knowledge and creativity to
bring out new machines or change the course of service for sustainable growth. As mentioned
before, I want to be a part of the production or R&D team in an automobile company based on
which I will gather enough experience to start my own business. Therefore I need to have
detailed knowledge about the management process. This will only be understood when I enter
the management study course.
Through different workshops, seminars and courses, I have developed some of the very
important skills like communication, teamwork and problem solving skills. I have the experience
of dealing with different types of people from different walks of life. In addition to this, I have
the proper understanding of the essentiality of cultural diversity on the business world because I
myself belong to a completely different culture. These all will be contributing my growth as a
business administrator and the entrepreneur position I aim to achieve in the near future.
This MBA course will be serving as a ladder to have my professional development as an
entrepreneur. By following the mentors and other professors in this MBA course I will positively
gain knowledge about business which will intensify and radicalize my thought process. I believe
this MBA program will allow me to further my skills as a manager of the R&D department of
any automobile manufacturing company for which I crave for. This MBA program I will be
guiding me in continuing my professional development and I will gain the opportunity to bring a
positive change in the company where I will be employed.
