Dear Sir/madam,
I have had interest in Business Administration for a number of years now (Desai, 2013,
Lombard, 2010, Qumza, 2011, Kwak, 2011 and Flew, 2006). The reason for this desire is that I
have always been curious to get to know how businesses sustain themselves by carefully settling
for strategies that guarantee them success Bean, 2015). My ambition is to gain as much
knowledge, skills and experience in this field as I deem possible for me to be better placed in
trying to answer all these questions I have about successfully managing a business. The
University has set a good reputation for itself in terms of the successful graduates it offers to the
business world each year. I must say that the University has an excellent combination of the kind
of knowledge and skills to be imparted in the curious learners. This is after I had a critical look at
what the school offers in terms of the course outline and the knowledge and skills I would like to
acquire personally and those required in the employment market. It happened to be a very easy
decision for me to make by expressing my interest in joining the university taking into
considerations the kind of credits the school has established for itself (Blau, Halbert, Atwater,
Kershner, & Zuckerman, 2016).
I have skills in Human Resource Management since I have a Bachelor’s degree in Human
Resource Management honored on 27th March 2018 from Open University Malaysia (OUM).
Possessing these skills makes me have confidence that I am a step higher in trying to gain the
much desired knowledge in Business administration. I have also gained a robust work experience
as an Executive Coordinator, Executive Bureau at Greater Male’ Industrial Zone Limited. While
in this position, I was responsible for coordinating board committee meetings and preparation of
board papers along with ensuring all departments pursue corporate vision and direction in
functioning, development and corporate governance. I also worked as the company’s Company
Secretary from 25th December 2016 to 9th April 2017. During my time at the company, I have
contributed my knowledge in corporate affairs and administrations departments. I worked along
with the Company’s senior executives in the development of business plans and in compiling the
annual report and Directors report. Also, I worked as the Personal Assistant for the Managing
Director from 1st April 2017 till 10th June 2018. I also gained some skills while at the job
including being creative and innovative regarding activities undertaken, being able to come up

with the right decisions in situations that require sound judgment, embracing teamwork and
having respect for my superiors and colleagues.
This vast knowledge and skills in Human Resource management and other related fields
makes me feel more prepared to apply for this postgraduate degree at the university. The kind of
confidence I have built within myself is going to help me be a responsible student and dedicate
much of my time to my work since I am a very hard working person especially I have a desire to
achieve a particular goal. I always tend to give much of my time and an undivided attention to
whatever thing I choose to engage in until I finally arrive at the desired end.
I feel like am in a better position to achieve my goal of gaining knowledge, skills and
experience in Business Administration since I have made all the necessary preparations that are
going to make my stay at the university be more fun and free from problems, both academic and
personal. The university has also shown its prowess in molding successful graduates that
compete favorably in the employment market. I believe that am going to be one of those lucky
people who have received the privilege of being developed and nurtured at the University should
I be offered a chance to undertake my studies at the University.
Should the entrance examination be a requirement before admission at the University, I
can confirm that I am prepared to go through the whole procedure so that my chances of being
admitted at the University can be increased. I am also hoping that the entrance examination
procedures are going to be in line with the routine University rules and regulations as far as
exams are concerned. I have attached all the documents I deem necessary for the admission
process which include reference letters from my previous University, project outlines, transcripts
and a recommendation letter from my employer. Please let me know if there are any other
documents required in the process of my admission to the University.
