Week 1
Introduction to learning contract
Learning is the way with the help of which a student can learn and understand new things
on daily basis. Learning involve the process of gathering, recording, organizing new ideas and
information along with understanding, remembering and using such ideas. The learning contract
in the course of MBA in hospitality management involves the following factors which help me in
achieving my goal of becoming event manager in top hotel companies.

Week 2
Note-taking and time management skills
In the note taking skills I learned how to cover the key points while making notes of any
lesson or lecture. I learned active note-taking skills which help me empowering my notes content
along with saves my time later. It helps me to capture, re-order, understand and remember useful
and important information and concept. Time management skills help me in completing my all
task and work on time and also on regular basis. This also help me in improving exam grades.
Week 3
Teamwork skills
Teamwork skills help me a lot in developing myself for the future success. It is quite
challenging for me because of my ineffectiveness in the communication. But in process of
developing the skill realize me that before becoming effective it is important for all the team
member to go through a learning curve. The project work gave me this opportunity to work in a
team and coordinating with team members. It also help me in developing my self concept
because of supportive environment of the team.

Week 4
Presentation Skills
In this week, I have learnt about skills of presenting in front of audience and the content, its
preparation and presentation which must be an attractive, understandable and eye catchy one. A
presentation involves three steps that is designing, delivery and confidence. Design must be an
attractive and understandable one and while delivering it voices of the presenter must
appropriate, body language such as eye contact and posture and wording should be clear and
simple. And the last one is confidence which I can improve by improving my thinking process,
emotional mood and behaviour. The most important factor that helps in building confidence is
practice because it is a common fact that “practice makes a man perfect.”
Week 5
Academic reading skill
Academic reading skill help me in improving my understanding level of the concept that
I am reading. For this, I use the regular reading of emails and message task and complete the task
on time with effective and efficient way. The average reading capacity of mine per minute is 600
words with 60% comprehension. It is because of the eyes fixation and eye jumps which causes
slow down in my reading speed. But on the other hand, this skill help me a lot in speeding up my
reading speed with accuracy and I become more successful at my university and also at my
workplace. This also help me in gaining more knowledge and better comprehension.
Week 6
Academic writing skill
Because of the academic writing skill I am able to fulfil the expectation of my lecturer
and able to produce essay writing in the proper and correct structure. After completion of my
skill lecture I am able to cover the logical content in my essay along with that I cover the
concept which are mechanically correct and clear. The structure of the essay or report that I
follow is includes three step introduction, body and conclusion. The introduction structure that I
followed include hook, background and outline of the particular topic. The main body structure
of writing essay includes topic sentence, supporting sentence and concluding sentence which I
followed to complete my essay.

Week 7
Pre-presentation skill evaluation
I evaluate Pre-presentation skill on the basis of three parameters i.e. presentation
structure, methods of delivery and style of delivery. Before adopting this skill course I am unable
to present my thoughts and ideas in the power point presentation and unable to express my
thought on story flow structure which causes various challenges to me. Before this, I am unable
to use the charts, diagrams and images in order to explain my ideas clearly. I am unable to
understand the different methods of delivery and selecting the best delivery channel. I am also
not able to know the difference between the different style of delivery such as eye contact, voice
clarity, hand gesture and movement. This all issues affect my presentation in my examination
and put huge impact on the exam marks.
Week 8
Post-presentation skill evaluation
I am strongly agree with the statement that decision must be flexible and changes
according to environmental changes because rigid decision lead to discouragement of the
employees. I am also strongly agreed that every individual need to track their own performance
effectiveness because it boost the morale of the individual team members. I am agreeing that all
the members of my team understand their own and whole team goals and objectives. I am also
agreeing with the fact that each member of my team understood their contribution in the
effectiveness of the tasks. I am strongly disagree that each of the team member understand the
potential contribution of the other team members because they are focused towards their own
work rather than others. Each team members are coordinating with each other and I agree with
this statement because it helps them in improving their work life balance. All groups are
completing their task on time without comprising their work quality. I am disagree that all
groups are working harmoniously and resolved the conflicts if any arises while managing and
completing the task. I am strongly agreed that all the groups and their members learn a lot about
the background of the company. I am strongly disagreeing that all the member of the team listen
carefully to each other and provide continuous feedback because there are some members who
are showing interest in learning new things.

Skills Audit
To became a event manager of a company first of I will need to analyse my strength,
weakness, opportunities and threats by applying SWOT model (Sarfraz, 2017). This will help me
to find out my weak area and skills which I need to improve in order to score good percentage in
my annual examination. With this I can also improve my skills and achieve my goals and
objectives.

Strength:
As I am always score high marks and top my classes at the time when I was a school student. So
academic writing and reading is my biggest strength along with managing whole work within a
specific time period. This all skills help me in scoring good percentage in my MBA examination
also. Academic writing helps me in completing my daily work either in class or at home on time.
Because I practice it on daily basis which I need to continue in the college also. Because of the
reading skill I am able to understand the tasks and activities independently without any others
person help (Richiţeanu-Năstase, Stăiculescu and Lăcătuş, 2018). I complete my exam on time
because of daily practice and developing time management skill. This also allow me enough time
to recheck my whole paper again after I completed my exam paper. I am also able to do various
activities on a single time which going to help me at my job workplace.

Weakness:
Despite, various strength I also come up with a view that I have various weak skills which might
stop me in achieving my goal of becoming event manager of the company. Such skills involve
lack of cooperation with other students and lack of paying attention to them and also lack of
cultural awareness. Because of the following weakness I am unable to speak on the groups and
can't learn new thinks. The lack of cultural awareness demotivate me and realizes me that I am
incapable to manage a team (Bailey, 2017). As it is quiet clear that in order to become a event
manager a student must have practical knowledge besides the academic and bookish knowledge.
I experienced during my school days that only achieving high grades are not going to help me. I
also need to overcome by weak skills by joining course and by taking parts in the social
gathering, events and debate competitions.
Opportunities:
If I really want to achieve my goal and want to make my career in event management than I need
to focus on the other activities along with the studies. As my MBA college offers the training of
learning and improving the six most important skills such as writing, reading, teamwork, note-
making, time management and presentation skills. By attending the regular lectures and by
practising daily essay writing I can further improve my reading and writing skills. But in order to
convert my weakness into strength I need to grab the opportunity which is provided by my
college. With the help of presentation classes I learn the best way to present my thoughts in form
of project, report and assignment. In the note making classes I learn the liner and pattern system
of note-making. In the self organization classes I learn the way to manage the balance between
study and social life (Kim and Beehr, 2018). This help me to keep myself physically healthy and
reduce stress. With the help of 24 hours time table and rocks and sand techniques I further
enhanced by time management skill. With the help of social skills development and life
techniques provided by my college I learn how to work with a team which further help me in my
career.
Threats:

My biggest threat is that I am unable to analyse any event projects and also not learn such skill in
the college also. Because of not having any practical and industrial knowledge I expect from my
college that they provide their students with practical experience such as arranging career
counselling with industrial experts (Gagné and et.al., 2020). One of the biggest threat of mine is
that I am unable to design and style any events which might stop me from achieving my goals.
Career development and employability
In order to develop my career in the event management the skills, training and knowledge
provide by the my college helps me a lot. But there is another four skills that is provided by the
college and learned by me which helps me in my career & employability. This includes personal
branding, Networking, Curriculum vitae and aptitude testing.
Week 9
Personal Branding:
With the help of personal branding skill provides by my college I am able to arrange and
manage my hotel's various events digitally. For this purpose I adopt the various social media
platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter in order to advertise my
events ideas and thoughts. Such step help me in attracting more customers to my event venue.
While doing this things what I never forget to do is continuous checking of my event
advertisements views and results. Any think which reflect the wrong message and put negative
impact on my event and company's brand that always get deleted by mine. The skills that I learn
in my college always help me in my job that before taking any steps it is important that we adapt
accessible and visible method for advertising the company's brand. As an event manager I uses
the blog network methods to advertise my all events and I also uses story line on my Instagram
channel (Rangarajan, Gelb and Vandaveer, 2017). This whole step helps me in my personal
branding because the customer and companies get to know my name and my ideas and thoughts
by reading my blogs and by watching my story lines. By doing this what I received in the return
is that I receive an interview call from the top companies in the hospitality industry and I also get
selected in such interview. For achieving this result I follow the same industry and their experts
