Introduction
 The following presentation is all about
case study on Essendon Food Solutions
(EFS).
 Jonathan Jacob and Henry Shultz have
started the organization forty years ago.
 Both of them are working for food
ingredient organization.
 But this organization was preventing
any kind of creativity and
innovation(Young and Ghoshal 2016).

Internal Structure of Organiztaion
 At present, the organization aims to employ
around 800 people whose total revenue is
around 1.6 billion dollars.
 EFS is the holding of two organization that is
EnzymeTech and Essendon emulsifier.
 Each of the division is completely headed by a
General Manager (GM) where they need to
make report to EFS CEO and board of directors
(Bertacchini, Dalle Nogare and Scuderi, 2018).
 In this organization, all decision like project
appraisal and selection is to be done by GM
and senior executive of each business.

Recommendation
Essendon Food Solutions need to implement a list of things like
 Organizing each and every function of EFS : There is need of
organizing different business function and creating a organization
structure for ensuring that each one is properly staffed. Some of
the business function are production, sales and human resource
and finance.
 Combining all the available function : EFS come up different
responsibilities for each department for saving money. It is mainly
done when the given function need attention.
 Creating a chain of command : In the current organization
structure there is need of designated each person who is directed
as superior.
 Communication of structure : In ESF there is need for
communicating their organization structure and how it will benefit
the organization.

External factors
The external factors that affecting this EFS
organization political, economical,
technological and social.
 EFS is very much proud its management
trainee program.
 Most of the staff members have joined the
organization like management trainee
(Dmitrievich, Georgievna and Yurievich
2015).
 The organization emphasizes of attracting
new people from some of leading
universities

Recommendation
The management needs to address the following points for improving
the external structure of the Essendon Food Solutions.
 Keeping a track of fluctuation of economy and market : The
global economy is known to be a external factor which affect the
business. Fluctuation in market is depended on politics and wars
for most of the organization.
 Analyzing both finance and credit : EFS needs to keep a track of
interest rates, credit card loans. These are some external factors
which cannot be controlled.
 Analyzing changes in the local infrastructure : Any kind of
changes in local infrastructure can bring huge damage to this firm.
 Keeping a track of changes in the law order : The current law and
order in the state have direct impact on organization.

Market research techniques
 EnzymeTech aims to offer supply enzyme to
food industry in various section of the
world.
 The organization is considered as best in the
industry of enzyme application.
 In the last few years, the marketing manager
of Essendon emulsifiers have visited two of
main exports that is china and Indonesia
(Dmitrievich, Georgievna and Yurievich
2015).
 Around 30% of profit and 20% revenue is
coming from the sales that is being exported.

Recommendation
 Essendon Food Solutions need to follow certain
steps for improving their customer and
marketing like
 Looking for feedback from EFS
 Enhancing customer team
 Using CRM platform
 Focusing on multi-channel services
 Aligning strategies
 Proper analysis of competition

R&D Methodology
 Essendon Food Solutions is very much proud
of its management trainee program.
 Around 80% of the staff members have joined
the organization as the management trainee
(Kanten, Kanten and Gurlek 2015).
 They have become successful in drawing
achievers from some best universities.
 The owner of the organization believes to
recruit best graduates and to make them stay
in the organization so that they can be benefit
the firm (Noe et al. 2017).

Recommendation
EFS need to focus some of the key aspects
like
 The organization need to keep an eye
on their customer so that they can
overcome new problems.
 Coming up with new solution
 Prototyping and learning new things in
the market.
 Implementing the most suitable idea

Leadership challenges and opportunities
 The organization aims to divide the
dividend among most of shareholder.
In days of low profit, the organization
focused on dividends (Noe et al. 2017).
 CFO of this organization needs to build
proper relationship with various
shareholders.
 The overall dividend is divided into
long term R&D projects (Doan et al.
2018).
