Introduction
Project planning is considered as one of the most important aspect of the project
management process. A proper project plan includes a list of stakeholders who will be present in
the operational process. Dates in which the completion of the project will be made is to be
considered. This report will be providing a brief background of the entire business process of
Levi’s, which is the chosen organization is in this case. Project planning steps that are to be
performed are also stated in the report. Success benchmark of the project is also selected in the
process. The software that is to be used in the operational process of planning is also provided in
the project. The data that will be required for completion of the project is also stated in the
project.
Background of the business
Levi was originated in the year 1853. Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss have been the
originator of the organization and they were the first ones to manufacture jeans with the branding
of Levi’s. Levi’s since then have expanded their business and this have been considered that
proper management of the branding and the jeans that are manufactured maintains quality of the
product. With spreading over 110 nations, it gets easier for Levi’s to perform their business in a
proper manner (Verma 2017). Levi’s had been working on new project, which was not a major
success. The main reasons for this failure was detected to be the improper strategy development.
Leadership have also not been on top and hence this have been affecting the entire project
management process. Market scenario analysis have been one of the key factor that is to be
considered. Failing in understanding of the key requirement of the clients have been affecting the
entire business process.

Project Planning
The phases that are considered in the process are namely the project initiation process,
planning phase, project execution, project controlling and project closure.
Project initiation: Project initiation stage acts important in the operational process.
Checking feasibility of the new project that is undertaken by Levi’s is considered in this phase.
During calculation of the project feasibility, cost incurred in the operational process is properly
checked as per the return of investment. This is considered to be important as the data that bare
collected in the process helps in better understanding of the demand of the product that is being
manufactured. In the feasibility of the project, NPV of the entire project is calculated (Heldman
2018). The approval of the project from the higher authority as per the feasibility of the project is
also considered in the process. Stakeholders who act in completion of the project is also
considered.
Planning: This phase acts important in the case study of the Levi’s. The main reason
behind this importance is that the entire working process for the new project is decided in this
phase. In the project planning phase of Levi’s the time that will be required of completion of the
project will be decided. Proper scheduling of the project will be performed in this case. With the
help of the scheduling process deadline issues can be eliminated. As it was seen that there have
been issues regarding analysis of client demand, time is needed to be segregated separately for
performing this activity. With the help of data analysis the needs and wants of the audience base
will be known (Samáková et al 2018). This will help Levi in creating a product that will be well
accepted by the mass. Another aspect that is to be considered in the process is that the budget
that is required for completion of the project will be well understood. This section have ensures
that the data management of the funding process can be ensured in a better manner. This is one

of the major reason that the project planning is important. Another important aspect that is to be
considered in the process is that project managers sets up the project execution plan as per the
resources available (Verenych and Bushuyev 2018). This is the section where the leadership
issue that is present will be getting eliminated. This is the main reason that the functioning
process gets enhanced and the accuracy in the operational process also increases.
Executing: After completion of the project planning stage, Levi’s will be focusing on
the executing the project as per the planning that have been made. It have been seen that the
project planning sectioning have been made in a manner that the deadline of the project is met. In
case project planning is not performed in a proper manner the entire process will be considered
as a failure. Hence it acts important for Levi’s to perform in a manner that supports the
proposition of the working process. Levi needs to perform the tasks with proper implementation
of strategies that will be set by the project manager. As this acts as one of the most important
factor in completion of the task, implementing strategic processing is required (Tsvetkov 2017).
This section ensures that the strategic lag that was present will be getting eliminated and hence
this this will benefit the execution of the project.
Controlling: despite the fact that in the execution phase the entire process is performed,
controlling phase acts important for Levi’s. The fact that the tasks that are performed in the
controlling phase will be providing proper assessment of the business process. In this process,
the reference tasks are considered and the tasks that are performed are considered and hence wise
proper steps cab be taken in case there is an issue in the operational process. This is the phase
where the leadership quality of a project manager is tested (Kazeeva et al 2019). Despite a
proper plan and proper execution proper monitoring of the execution phase is required.

Closing: The closing section have been acting as one of the most important aspect for
Levi’s. The main reason behind this prospect is that the goodwill of the organization is
dependent on the processing of the after sales service that it receives. In case the products that
are sold by Levi’s does not get proper assessment of the project stature and hence wise acting on
behalf of the same also benefits the entire process.

Designing process and Stakeholder management. The amount of audience that is chosen has
been another aspect that is to be considered.
Budget: Budget is considered as one of the success factors. It can be stated that the
budgeting is to be performed in a manner that the project gets completed within the pre-decided
budget. In case budget that is allocated for the entire project during the planning period is not
met, success of the project can be questioned in the process. In case the project does not get
completed within the stated and estimated budget the project is considered to be a failure.
Designing process: It can be stated that the designing process has been a major factor that
decides success of the project. In this section, proper analysis of the clients is to be done. After
understanding the demands of the clients the entire process gets started. This section ensures the
fact that the needs and wants of the clients have been well understood and the products will be

This will be increasing the acceptance of the products that are manufactured by the organization.

stakeholders who are involved in the project is considered to be the background of the project.
With proper stakeholder management, success of the project also increases. The accuracy in the
operational process also increases. Hence it can be stated that stakeholder management might
have been a reason for success. Hence Levi’s will be focusing on performing stakeholder
management. In this case, the strength and weaknesses of the stakeholders are to be known by
the project manager and this has been the major reason for performing proper stakeholder
management. In case the tasks that are provided to the stakeholders are performed in an
inaccurate manner, the success of the project will be at stake.
The audience present in the process is also considered to be one of the important aspects
that will be helping in the creation of revenue. This revenue creation is completely dependent on
the number of audience base and hence wise analyzing and monitoring of the audience group
will be acting beneficially.
Software to be used in the project
Usage of Zoho projects can be made in the process. The reason Zoho projects will be
made in the process will ensure that there will be proper assessment of the Levi’s project. The
benefits received in the process are as follows: -
 The ease of usage of software have been an important factor for selecting the same. As
the usage process is easier, providing training to the employees for using the same will

not be considered. This will be saving a lot of time as well as the cost that will be
incurred in the training process.
 The entire app fits in one screen hence handling the entire operational process gets easier.
 Dashboard presentation have been a benefit that is enjoyed in the process. Project
summary is always present in the dashboard (Prasanna and Seelan 2019).
 Gantt chart scale is also considered and this is performed in a proper manner. The process
of changing the scale of Gantt chart have been easier.
 Current project status is also well analyzed in the section.
Data Requirement
Data requirement of the project are as follows:-
 Data of stakeholders who have been working in the project
 Data of the objectives of the project
 Data of the project initiation phase. In this data requirement process, the main aspect that
is to be considered is that charters are developed. This is one of the main reason that the
budgets and timeline have been constricted in this section.
 After creation of the timeline and the budget it is to be shared as with the data that are
generated via the initiation process ate needed to be perform proper planning process.
 The budget that have been another data set acts important in the process. This is an
important data set that will be required in the process.
Conclusion
From the above discussion, it can be stated that there are certain phases that are to be
implemented for elimination of the issues. There are a list of activities that are to be performed in

the project planning process. This list of activities are primarily dependent on the task that is to
be performed. Each and every project is ought to have a different set of activities in the project
planning stage. Project planning is performed after the project initiation phase in which the

Zoho project can be used as a tool. There are several data sets that are required for completion of
the project. Success factors are yet another factor that is to be considered in the process. Hence
setting of success factors ensure that the departments that are related to success of the project are
discussed and the way success is dependent on the process are also stated. With the important
data sets that are required proper execution of the working process can be made. This data
collection will be benefitting the project assessment. Levi’s needs to work on proper
incorporation of the software tools. This incorporation will be benefitting the entire process. On
following the above stated process, it can be stated that Levi’s will be performing their project in
a proper manner and hence this will benefit the operational process.
