1.3 Project description
The project of development of MBFSA is related to the development of an online
application that will increase the efficiency of crop growing and selling of the crops.
The organization Globex mainly works with an aim of increasing the productivity of
the associated farmers. The positive change is brought by helping the farmers to
grow their crops in a more systematic and planned manner. The proposed project
adds to the precision in managing and handling the project. The organization Globex
has 30 years experince in agricultural business. The business processes managed
by Globex in considered to be the biggest in the Riverina region as, it has vast
inventory and significant years of experience in this field. One major success criteria
of the projects managed by Globex Corporation is that the organization has largely
invested in the product supply and their supply chain network.
The Globex Farm is known for their precision in agricultural business and the
organization provide necessary support to the farmers throughout their operation
process. The organization brings about this precision by integrating a wide range of
products and technologies, which include GPS, laser and optical technologies. The
application software and wireless communication helps ti provide optimised services
to the farmers. The integrated solutions offered by the Globex Farm allows the
customer to collect and effectively manage the complex information in a more
profitable manner.
The Globex Precision Framing has proposed a mobile-based application that is
expected to manage the MBFSA program. The aim of the MBFSA program deals
with the developing of a software system that will helps the farmers plan their crop
effectively in all season. The proposed program is mainly aimed in helping the
farmers reduce the problem of overgrowing of a particular crop. The application to be

launched will help in minimizing the losses that the small farmers face due to
growing a wrong crop. The specifications of the application include collecting the
weather data and the data about the demand of a crop. The program intends to help
the farmers to address the problem of over growing of a particular crop. The app will
therefore enable the farmers to plan their crops in every season so that the losses
due to growing of the wrong crops can be minimized. Since Vitucon have been a
loyal client of Globex for a long time, the responsibility of executing this project is
given to Virtucon. Virtucon will be responsible for planning and execution of the
entire project.
It is expected that the MBFSA application that is developed will be interacting with
the local government on weather conditions and market demand of a particular crop.
Although the entire project will be managed by Virtucoan, the Globex representative
has the responsibility of collecting the necessary information that will facilitate the
growing of a crop in that season. After the launch of the application, the Globex will
provide training to the farmers regarding the use of the application and it is the part
of the entire MBFSA program. Since Virtucon is a loyal client of globex, it will charge
Globex only 50% of the management cost of the project. It is expected that the
project will be well executed by Virtucon.
1.4 Team charter:
Team charter can be described as a document that is mainly developed in a group
setting. Development of team charter is essential to clarify the team direction while
establishing the boundaries set for the team members. It is essential to develop a
team charter particularly because in helps in identifying what values people are
drawing and the problems that the project team might face in future. The amount of
time that a team will be spending is further stored in the charter. The team charter

A team is prepared for the Mobile Based Farmer Support Application project that
details the roles, responsibility, knowledge as well as skills of project team. The table
below identifies the roles, responsibility of each of the four members associated with

The team is a major characteristics of project

involved in the project are communicating effectively during the planning and
execution of a project. The plan for communication that is developed will add to the
efficiency in process of project execution and control.

4.1 Reflection
Leading and managing a team requires certain necessary skills. A team leader or
manager of a team should possess these skills to ensure that the said project is
executed in a proper manner. It is necessary for a project leader to understand and
identify the concerns of the team. A project manager is expected to be a good
communicator. Communication is important for a project team management.

Furthermore, a leader should have an ability of sharing clear vision to inspire others.
A positive attitude is need in a leader in order to keep the enthusiasm intact. Apart
from this, a leader is needed to be an effective decision maker. The cool and calm
disposition attitude in a leader makes an individual a great project leader. A project
manager generally has strong management skills to gain experience and practise. A
situation of honesty and integrity should be maintained among the project team. A
leader is expected to motivate a team in making the team work towards successful
execution of the project.
This assignment helped me in identifying the major skills a manager should possess
and a leader should possess in successful execution of project. I have understood
that good communication is needed to ensure that project stakeholders are engaged
with a given project. With this assignment, I could identify the skills that a project
manager need to have and the skills of the leaders. The project team should be
creative enough to handle even the complex projects. Leadership is a vital aspect of
management of a project since it enables the team members to work efficiently and
in effective manner.
Apart from that I have understood that project managers need to possess clarity and
vision of effective management and project execution. It is expected that the project
undertaken by Virtucon will be a complete success. It is expected that the leader will
be able to act as a good motivator as well. The team formed is efficient enough in
understanding the requirements of MFBSA project and therefore it is anticipated that
the project will be executed successfully.
