The internship experience that I had in Mc Cann Australia was vocational internship
that helped me in learning about the world of advertising. It helped me in providing real
world experience regarding the vast world of marketing that can come to be of great use for
my professional development. Mc Cann Australia has eminent clients like Coca Cola, Sprite,
Master card, Microsoft, Loreal and Maybelline and the superior advertising techniques of the
company has helped it to create a prominent position within Australia (Mccann.com.au
2019). This experience can be classified as vocational internship owing to the fact that I was
not getting paid at the time of doing the internship. The vocational placement forms a part of
work experience arrangement which forms a part of the education course. It can be said to be
vocational internship as it provides opportunity to the students to learn regarding experiences
that can help them in adjusting to the professional environment.
I did not get paid at the time of doing the internship but I was able to learn valuable
skills that helped me in transitioning successfully from study to the work. The vocational
placements can be said to be lawfully unpaid irrespective of the fact whether there is an
employee relationship. The vocational experience acts like an unpaid trial that can prove to
be of great use in testing the capabilities, skills and the abilities of an individual (Nunley et al.
2016). It can be said that the volunteering experience is legal as the company is providing us
with relevant experience that can help us in passing the course. The organization does not
expect us to finish the complete tasks and hence not paying on the part of the company can be
said to be on the basis of law. The internship would be able to benefit me to a great extent
and hence the company did not need to provide me with the wage.
I have learnt from the internship experience how to frame the linguistic content
pertaining to the advertisements. I learnt with the help of the experience how to research the
clients along with the competitors pertaining to the world of advertising. I was able to gather
knowledge about producing credible ideas that can be presented to the clients for attracting

them (He and Qin 2017). The internship within Mc Cann Australia taught me how to monitor
the effectiveness of campaigns that can help in improving the advertising of the company. I
learnt how to liaise with the clients along with the colleagues that can help in increasing the
popularity of my company. I learnt how to write the reports and supervise the junior staff in
an advertising agency. The internship taught me how to make contacts with the media
planner along with in-house production department that can help in the developing of the
advertising campaigns (Bhattacharya and Neelam 2018). I learnt the different ways of
managing time that can help me in carrying out all the duties effectively in the advertising
agency.
