proper planning of all the aspects of the project (Larson and Gray, 2017). The project plan
incorporating the key aspects of the research project are;
Cost: the prior assessment of cost is important to execute a project successfully. the cost or
budget involves the assessment of the cost for required resources and material for
implementing different activities of the project. A budget of approximately £35,000 would
be required for performing this project (Meredith and Mantel Jr, 2011). The cost breakdown
for the different project activities are as follows;
ACTIVITIES COST
Project planning £1,000
Stationary £3,000
Human resource £10,000
Tools and equipment £10,000
Travelling expenses £5,000
Other research expenses £3,000
Total £32,000

project that supports in accomplishing the desired results with great quality and reliability.
The quality of the project process and outcomes in this project will be managed by using the
techniques of quality control and quality assurance (Mowforth and Munt, 2015). The quality
control will support in maintaining project quality during the project process while quality
assurance will be used to ensure the quality of the outcomes of the project.
Risk: risks are inherent to any business or projects and this it is important to make a proper
assessment of the risks to reduce the chances of loss and problems during the execution
phase. This project is exposed to several kinds of risks such as loss of data, misuse of
information, and delay in the project, lack of funds as well as uncertain technical errors and
mistakes during the project (Heagney, 2016). Thus, in order to mitigate project risk, it is
important to make a prior plan to reduce or eliminate the risk. The risks of funds and

finances can be mitigated by making a proper budget, the risk of time can be mitigated by
making a time management plan, the risk of uncertainties and lack of guidance can be
reduced through developing work-breakdown structure.
Resources: resources are the key requirements that facilitate in completing the project in a
given time, the major resource requirements for this project involves, financial resources,
technical equipment like mobile devices and storage devices etc., and human resources
(Mowforth and Munt, 2015). The financial resources are planned through cost budgeting,
whereas, the human resources involves a team of around 10 people for performing different
activities of the project.
Communication: This is one of the important aspects of project management that relates to
the sharing of information among the team members (Heagney, 2016). The communication

GANTT CHART
A Gantt chart is an effective tool that is used to plan a project activity by analyzing the
available and required time for performing different activities of the project. this supports in
performing all the project activities within the set time and accomplish the project
objectives within a time limit (Harrison and Lock, 2017). The Gantt chart for this research

PAST 2 RESEARCH REPORT AND REFLECTIVE STATEMENT
This research project is initiated to analyze the impact of McDonald's on the business
environment of Ilford, London to support the local businesses to identify the positive and
negative impact of the large multinational organizations on the business. This would support
the local restaurant businesses to devise an effective strategy to achieve higher success and
growth in the industry.
For this concern, this research project will involve the use of qualitative and quantitative
research methods to collect sufficient data for drawing a meaningful conclusion and
recommendation to the research project. The proposed project plan has involved all the
essential information to execute the project successfully.
RESEARCH AND DATA COLLECTION METHODS
This research is conducted by following the research onion model proposed by Saunders
(Gliner, et al., 2011). Firstly, the research philosophy is decided to provide a proper direction
to the research. Positivism is the most suitable philosophy of this research as it focuses on
observing reality in its natural occurrence. Moving forward, the deductive is used to collect
the data for the research that will involve the use of survey strategy with the application of
mixed research methods (Terrell, 2012). The mixed research method is applied to collect in-
breadth and comprehensive data on the research topic. The qualitative method is used for
collecting secondary data while the quantitative method is used for collecting primary data
for the research study.
The secondary or qualitative data is collected by applying the technique of documental
review that involves the review of the existing literary sources to gain information about
how globalization has brought changes in the restaurant industry and how McDonald has
gained success in the international market after the emergence of globalization (Silverman,
2016). Through the documental review, the basic information about the large business
organizations and its involvement and influence in the local business organizations is
addressed.
Furthermore, the primary or quantitative data is collected by employing the survey
questionnaire methods. This involves the collection of primary data from conducting a

questionnaire survey among the random people in the Ilford region (Kumar, 2019). The
sample size of the survey is 30. The participants for the survey are selected by using the
simple probability technique. This technique would enable in selecting the research
participants randomly and simply by accessing them and asking them to support the
research project (Kumar, 2019). Around 8 closed-ended questions have been asked by the
participants to collect relevant information about the project topic and draw accurate
answers.
ETHICAL CONSIDERATION
For performing the research ethically in compliance with the local and university norms and
policies it is important to consider the ethical practices during the research execution phase.
This project has involved the collection of primary and secondary research and thus, the
research ethics are properly followed in the project. The data for the secondary research is
collected from the authentic sources as well as referenced properly for complying with the
personal rights of individuals (Noble and Smith, 2015). Moreover, while performing the
primary research through a survey, the ethical considerations of informed consent and
confidentiality and anonymity of data are ensured. The involved participants are primarily
informed about the nature and use of research information, as well as the anonymity of the
respondents, is also maintained.
RELIABILITY AND VALIDITY OF THE PROJECT
Reliability and validity are important aspects of any business research project. The reliability
of the project can be ensured by maintaining the authenticity and accuracy of the collected
data without involving any unauthentic and incomplete data and sources (Kumar, 2019).
The reliability of the research study is tested in terms that the exact research results can be
formed by applying the same research techniques in similar conditions and environment.
On the other hand, the validity of the research project can be ensured by using the
appropriate research methods that are best suitable for collecting data for the research
study. The validity of the research simply means that the applied methods or instruments
are able to accurately measures the required data (Kumar, 2019). The applied technique of
questionnaire survey has been designed in such a way that it could provide information

about every aspect the research is entitled to analyse that proves the validity of the
research.
RESEARCH FINDINGS AND ANALYSIS
ANALYSING QUALITATIVE DATA
The secondary collected from the documental review is analyzed and reviewed by using the
technique of thematic analysis that involves of the formulation patterns from the collected
data to make a proper record of all the relevant information from findings patterns and
themes in relation to the research topic. The analysis of the secondary data is presented
below;
Globalisation and international business organizations
Globalisation has shifted the world economy from the mixture of different autonomous
economies to a single market economy where business organizations are gaining an
advantage of more liberalized trade, migration of labour, foreign direct investment, and
technology exchange (Castells, 2010). Globalisation has created a totally new business
market for international business organizations.
In the international business, business activities involve the transfer of goods, services, skills,
knowledge, information and resources among the different economies of the world
(Mangan et al., 2106). The international business organizations are increasingly gaining an
opportunity of the expanding business to the new economies and market through the
globalisation of the market.
International Restaurant and Food Service industry
Fleischhacker et al (2011) have provided insights into several restaurant and food industry
studies. The food and restaurant industry is greatly influenced by the globalisation of the
market. This has facilitated the presence of different traditional cuisine in the different areas
of the world.
In the past couple of years, the global market had shown cautiously optimistic nature in the
restaurant industry across the world. Steady positive growth has been recorded in the larger
markets of Asia, Europe, and the US. The size of the international foodservice industry has
