Interview
Q1. How do you think the local business owners of Scotland responded to the emergence of
McDonalds?
Manager 1 Manager 2
Most of the local business owners, especially the
regional fast food companies have not been able to
accept the establishment of McDonalds in
Scotland. They fear that they will lose all their
customers eventually to the British organisations
and finally they will have to look for alternative
options.
Although most of the regional companies are
looking at the emergence of McDonalds in a
negative manner; nevertheless, there are many
business owners such as meat sellers, grocery
manufactures and others as such, who are viewing
this as an opportunity of forming alliance with the
fast food chain as suppliers.
