AI Summary
This medical assignment report delves into the critical aspects of blood and tissue banking, highlighting their significance in modern healthcare. It emphasizes the importance of blood collection and preservation as a biological insurance for patients needing transfusions, referencing the work of Collins et al. (2015). The report also discusses the advancements in biomedical tissue collection, as described by Park et al. (2015), and the potential benefits of storing blood and tissues together for patients with various conditions, as suggested by Pawar and Narkhede (2016). Harmening (2018) is referenced to highlight the advancements in tissue collection for critical conditions like cancer, and the increasing use of cord blood and tissues. The report concludes by emphasizing the feasibility of storing blood and tissue in a single bank, which is beneficial for both professionals and patients, as supported by Cox (2018) and Pawar and Narkhede (2016).

1MEDICAL ASSIGNMENT
Collection and preservation of blood is considered as the biological insurance that
helps patients in their critical condition as majority of the patients are dependent upon the
blood transfusion (Collins et al., 2015). Collection of Biomedical tissues, on the other hand,
is also a modern healthcare solution which is required in several clinical senses (Park et al.,
2015). Hence, as per Pawar and Narkhede (2016), if the blood and tissues are stored together
in the bank, it would be helpful for the patients suffering from critical burns or that are
waiting for their skin grafting would be able to receive accurate, advanced and timely care.
As mentioned by Harmening (2018), collection and preservation of tissues are most
advanced and accurate healthcare solution for any critical condition such as cancer.
Application of cord tissues not only could help in the medication of the child but also the
previous generation of that offspring due to which, collection and preservation of the cord
blood and cord tissues has increased in recent times. As per Cox (2018), if the blood and
tissues are stored together within a bank with proper storing aspects, it would help patients
with diseases related to sensory organs, circulatory organs, bone, cartilage, nervous system
and skin conditions. Further, as per Pawar and Narkhede (2016), collecting blood and tissue
together would be effective for the doctor as the process would be convenient, less wastage of
time. Further, due to this effective process, the patient would be able to get treatment in
timely manner.
Therefore, collection and preservation of the blood and tissue in a single laboratory or
bank would be feasible for the professionals as well as for the patients.
