Introduction:
The significance of the quality improvement in the medical world is observed to
increase in a notable manner and that is much required for the development of an attractive
corporate image for attracting the customers. The changing dynamics of the medical society
is seen to influence the institutions for the much required management of the compliance with
the legislations and the necessary service quality requirements (Mosadeghrad, 2014). At the
same time, the incorporation of the medical ethics in the business operations of the medical
organizations is seen to be an important value proposition for the organizations. Hence, it
becomes important to evaluate the interfaces between the medical ethics, quality
improvement and law. The paper serves the above mentioned need.
Discussion:
The link between the concepts are observed to be significant. The medical ethics has
emerged as a broad topic in the medical society and that is evident with the development of
the code of employment for the employees operating in it. At the same time, the implications
of the medical legislations in the services of the medical organizations is notably prominent.
The increasing occurrences of the medical errors is one of the main factors that
influences the companies for the desired achievement of the quality improvement. With a
detailed emphasis on the medical errors, it is visible from the statistics of the World Health
Organization that one out of 10 patients is observed to get harmed in the hospitals while
receiving medical care, every four out of 10 patients are getting harmed in the primary and
outpatient health care (Who.int, 2019). Having said that, the agency also proved that the
millions of patients are getting harmed due to the medication errors and the cost associated
with the medical errors is seen to be as significant as 42 billion US dollars annually which is
approximately 1% of the total global health expenditure (Who.int, 2019). Having raised the

concerns about the medical errors and negligence, it is important to evaluate the sources of
the medical errors. Considering the sources of the medical errors, it is understandable that the
lack of the therapeutic training, inadequate knowledge of the drugs and inappropriate
experiences of application of the same, inappropriate identification and perception of the risk,
improper knowledge of the condition of the patients, physical and emotional health issues of
the health care professionals along with the inappropriate consideration towards the fatigue of
the health care professionals and poor communication amongst the professionals (Who.int,
2019).
Other than this, World Health Organization expressed other factors such as the lack of
knowledge regarding the patient’s characteristics, higher complexity in the clinical cases,
excessive workload on the healthcare professionals, lack of knowledge regarding the
standardized protocols and procedures along with the insufficient resources to be prime
factors affecting the quality of the services offered by the healthcare organizations (Who.int,
2019). Hence, it becomes important for the government agencies to maintain strict
implementation of the legislations for the medical operations. It is visible that the cases of the
medical negligence takes place when the medical professionals violate their formal business
process.
With a precise look back at the ”Elements of Negligence” section, it is visible that the
government agencies responsible for monitoring the medical operations are able to frame
appropriate legislation for punishing any sort of breach of employment conduct from the part
of the health care professionals. Other than this, the health care organizations face the
necessity to comply with the legislations for appropriate management of the workload of the
professionals as any sort of negligence in the mentioned part can result in avoidable medical
errors. Apart from this, the medical and labour employment legislations that are framed by
the governmental organizations are observed to be crucial in forcing the medical

organizations in providing appropriate training to the healthcare professionals regarding the
technique of managing the patients, the medicines, the knowledge of drugs, required doses of
the medicine (Légaré et al., 2014). The ability of the health care organizations in managing
the developmental needs of their professionals and the areas of negligence will be significant
in improving the quality of the performances. Hence, the impact of the legislations on quality
improvements is pretty prominent.
Apart from this, the concern of the governmental organizations on the incorporation
of the medical ethics is pretty prominent with their operational activities. With a precise look
back at the unethical activities conducted by the healthcare organizations for increasing the
expenditure of their customers, the need of intervention from the part of the governmental
organization is pretty prominent. Having said that, a large number of medical houses are
observed to be focused in conducting their medicinal experiments on the general patients
which can affect the health of the patients as well. The unplanned and inappropriate
application of the drugs from the part of the inexperienced healthcare professionals has the
potential of creating larger and detrimental consequences for the patients. Hence, the
incorporation of the medical ethics from the part of the senior management of the health care
organizations becomes notably important as that have the capability to help them in
complying with the legislations framed by the governmental organizations. For example, the
case of Gosport War Memorial Hospital is significant in stating the unethical business
conduct from the part of the hospital authority and the consequences of the case is pretty
prominent with 92 deaths and shorten up of 400 lives (Theguardian.com, 2019). The
organization was observed to apply the opioid drugs to considerable number of patients
without any sort of prior medical assessments of their patients. Hence the importance of the
medical ethics in the medical society, is observed to increase in a rapid manner.

On an ending note, it is evident that the link between the medical ethics and framed
legislation from the part of the government has the potential to play a crucial role in the
improvement of the quality of the services of the healthcare organizations Other than this, the
sustainability of the health care organizations regarding the compliance with the legislations
for managing the governmental controls contributes in the improvement of the services
quality and ethical business management.
