Feedback Reflection
Strengths
One of the key strengths of my assignment was the inclusion of relevant and significant
amount of references which demonstrated an extensive understanding and reading of my topic.
Further, my assignment also discussed extensive on statistical data pertaining to prevalence and
epidemiology. My assignment was also pictorially advantageous due to the inclusion of
diagrams. An additional key strength of my assignment was the inclusion and commendable
discussion on the underlying mutation associated with LHON. My assignment also lastly,
presented notable strengths and positive outcomes due to the incporatino of significant
discussion on clinical approaches coupled with an outline on possible potential treatments in the
future. Overall, I attempted to incorporate key concepts learned during my classes and obtained
from feedback given by my supervisor.
Needs
Despite adding relevant statistical data on prevalence and epidemiology, usage of concise
and careful wording could have made such information more comprehendible. Further, my
inclusion of adequate figures could have been explained more efficiently with the incorporation
of relevant pedigree diagrams since without the, the pictorial data were awkward for
understanding. Additionally, my explanations on underlying mechanisms on genetic mutations
could have been managed better had I incorporated the pathophysiology processes with which
mutations manifest at the genetic level. Further, explaining the potential of future treatments with
greater detail coupled with addition of information on required diagnostic clinical trials and

blood tests would have proven to be advantageous and were key needs required to be addressed
for my assignment.
Opportunities
One of the key limitations to my assignment was the discussion of a topic, that is, LHON,
which was otherwise relevant and not a mitochondrial depletion syndrome. Hence, for future
improvements, I must conduct extensive evidence based research regarding the provided topic
and engage in constant communication, reviewing and feedback from my supervisor in order to
obtain key insights on the subject and improve existing limitations associated with my
understanding. Further, considering my adherence to writing which is too general coupled with
additional of incomprehensive diagrams, I must conduct extensive literature review using
university library resources as well as take insights from my professors, since this will enlighten
me on how I can write assignments with extensive detail and add figures with legends.
Continuous practice and reviewing with my professor will aid me in the improvement of my
grammatical mistakes, wording usage and sentence construction.
Barriers
Time constraints can pose to be key barrier in the incorporation of the above
requirements considering the extensive research I need to conduct to enlighten myself on a
relevant topic. Further, I often feel discouraged and doubt my capabilities when I receive a low
grade which can further pose to be a barrier in my future need to work harder and research
extensively.
