and functioning of Mary
 Respiratory system:
 impaired effective cough due to which
airway clearance is obstructed.
 resulted into loss in the forced vital lung
capacity.

 The nerves suffer breakdown due to
which there is loss of sensation due to
lost reflexes. This causes the problems of
movement and stability.
 In the given case, Mary may fear falling
because of the impact that age had on
her nervous system.

 As the strength of the respiratory muscle decreases,
it would make breathing difficult for Mary.
 Impaired nervous system which leads to loss of
sensations impacts Mary's Body.
 It leads to difficult movement and stability and
inculcates the fear of falling.
 As Mary was a diabetic, the structure and functioning
of her body may also have been affected by
abnormal glucose level in the blood.
 This would have been the reason for dizziness that
Mary suffered from. It may also be possible that the
position sense in her feet was reduced due to
diabetic neuropathy.

In order to deal with this condition,
routine care for Mary would consist of
physiotherapy as well a provision of
walking aid such as Walker. This will help
in preventing falls.
