Introduction
The medicine wheel is a visual representation of a person’s wellness by embodying the four
directions, each of which describes the health and four cycles of life (Marchand et al., 2020).
This form of self-reflection helped me realize my spiritual, emotional, mental and physical
aspects of life. This paper discusses personal representation with the help of a medicine
wheel, summarizes the four directions identified in personal reflection and future directions.
Summary
The medicine wheel helped me reflect on my personal skills and find my direction in life.
Mental, emotional, physical and spiritual realities could be aligned with the help of the
medicine wheel. The Earth’s forces helped to attune myself and the natural energies affecting

life (Chuang, 2017). Each of these forces helps me acquiring the knowledge required to work
on my weaknesses and find the meaning and purpose of my life. The spiritual direction
helped me stay close to nature and build my spiritual self by engaging in activities that I
enjoy doing. It includes realizing activities that give me peace and inner satisfaction. I
realized that I enjoy gardening and singing. The spiritual building also includes beliefs in
God and the power of religion. The emotional side of the wheel helped me realize the
importance of self-esteem and develop positivity. It is essential to stay positive at any
circumstance. It describes the value of a positive self-image to excel in all fields. It is vital to
build confidence and explore various aspects of life and maintain a positive environment. The
physical direction of the medicine wheel focuses on staying physically fit. Physical fitness is
extremely helpful to remain healthy. I believe that it is crucial to take good care of oneself. I
tried to keep myself fit by adopting a balanced diet which includes healthy foods. I also
shifted to having substantial breakfast and keeping dinners minimum and light. Adequate
sleep is also essential for physical fitness. I ensured a sound sleep of seven hours to keep my
mind fresh and active the following day. Besides, I developed exercises into my daily
schedule and made time for it. I started with beginner’s level exercises and aim to move
further gradually. Lastly, the mental or cognitive side of my medicine wheel included finding
mental peace and increasing my mental capacity. I engaged in exercises of the brain that raise
concentration and focus. I try to stay observant at all times and learn from the actions and
behaviors of others around me. I also realized my weakness in general knowledge and took
the first step towards overcoming it by reading newspapers daily. It keeps me updated with
the current affairs. I have started with reading only a few sections as I am unable to cover the
entire paper but aim to complete reading the entire paper each day soon.

Conclusion and future directions
In conclusion. The medicine wheel is an excellent tool to build oneself and realize potential. I
tried to introspect myself through this wheel and identified my weaknesses. After identifying
my weaknesses, I developed measures to work on these weaknesses and incorporate changes
in my present lifestyle. I look forward to enhancing my spiritual, cognitive, physical and
emotional self by extending my current limits of the measures developed to gradually attain
the target of overcoming all my limitations and creating a better version of myself.
