Introduction
This assessment will be done by studying the medium-rise building layout designs. There can be
various layout requirements for the system like heating methods, wiring layout. This report is for
studying the concept of under-construction building and this research will be done on the
standards according to Australia. The layout can be varied according to the environment and
place characteristics.

Methods and Service Layout.
Part (1). Methods of Water Storage Supply and layout
(a) Identify relevant building regulations and standards for water supply,
connection, and layout
Building standards depend upon the area where it is being constructed in urban or either rural
area. In rural areas, water storage depends mainly on rain system and stored in tanks. Inlet filters
are installed to avoid water contamination. The first flush system is being used to remove the
dust, leaves and other contamination that flush with roof on the water first run.
Areas with less rainfall, are required an alternative for water storage. The split water system is
used in that case in which rainfall is used for potable purposes and alternative spring or bore is
used for washing and toilet purposes.
To adequate the size of tanks, the following measures should be considered:
Yearly rainfall where the building is located see graphs and tables of climate changes
Roof plan area
Runoff in liters
Water is conveyed from streets to buildings through pipes that consist of two types:
Supply Pipe
Communication Pipe
Water connections to mainly depend upon on pressure of supply and timings of supply
Direct system: Upward distribution system. Supply is given for various hours with the
required pressure
Indirect system: When pressure is not sufficient, this system is used, water is pumped to
underground tank form where it is pumped to overhead tank
However, principles must be satisfied in the water supply system:
Quality of water not deteriorated in distribution pipes.

The storage tank is used to store water. They can be used for collecting rainwater and water from
pumps both. These tanks play role in heat system of the building where cold or hot water tanks
are used (Li, et al., 2019).
