Introduction
In this specific study, a brief analysis of both positive and negative impacts of different mega
events such as World Cup Football, Tour De France and Australian Open will be assessed in
a prefabricated manner. World Cup Football is a specialized football tournament that takes
place in an interval of four years. On the other hand, Tour De France is a cycling competition,
which takes place in France and it help to determine the greatest cyclist of entire world.
Lastly, Australian Open is a glamorous tennis tournament that takes place in Australia.
Australian Open generally takes place every single year. All of those mega events have some
positive and negative effects, which will be described in the later section of this study.

Discussion
Mega events can be distinguished in between three different parts such as Global, National
and Regional. Additionally, mega events generally attract a large number of visitors as a
form of tourists. In addition to that, mega events have both positive and negative impact upon
the cities where those mega events took place. However, mega events generally cost a large
number of resources and it has some prefabricated impact into the environment and the
population (Yolal et al., 2016). The perception of a host community is very important for
planning and organizing a prefabricated worldwide event. The host city of any mega event
can experience both positive and negative impact at a very large scale (Yürük et al., 2017).
As an instance, Australia hosts a tennis tournament named Australian Open every single year.
Australian Open can be described as a mega event since it attracts many tourists from all over
the world. However, Australian Open has both Positive and Negative impact into the
residents of Australia. It also has social and cultural impact into the entire Australian region.
The core positive effects of Australian Open into Australia are consists of several different
impacts. Since the main purpose of tennis tournament is to provide entertainment, Australian
Open is not different from that. Thus, it can be described that the main positive impact of
Australian Open is it provides a prefabricated amount of entertainment values towards the
residents of Australia (Whiteside et al., 2016). The entire economy from the perspective of
Australia can be enhanced through the prefabricated help of Australian Open. Additionally,
any form of mega event can engage the government of that place to maintain the public
facilities of that city. It is beneficial from the perspectives of the local residents of Australia
since the indirect help of mega events is enhancing the quality of their public transports.

which can also be considered as the positive impact of Australian Open. Lastly, showcasing

However, despite the fact that Australian Open has several positive impacts into the entire
region of Australia, it has some negative impacts as well. The key negative impact of
Australian Open is it generally utilizes the public money without letting the public know
about that. It negatively affects the perspectives of public towards their government at a
greater extension (Whiteside and Reid, 2017). In addition to that, mega events like Australian
Open generally disrupt the local residents at a much greater extension, which is entirely
unethical. The satisfaction level of local residents can be minimized at a larger pat due to the
disruption. As a result, the behaviour of local residents can be changed towards the tourist
base since they think those tourists are having more priority in comparison with them. The
entire economical and social stability of a community can be disturbed due to the core
negative impacts of mega events like Australian Open.
The environment of Australia can also experience some negative impact of mega events like
Australian Open. The environment of Australia can be messed up due to the after effect of
mega event like Australian Open. In addition to that, the price of different products and
services might be increased due to the prefabricated effect of mega events like Australian
Open. The prefabricated condition of different public facilities can also be decreased due to
the effect of mega events like Australian Open. These are all of the negative impacts of
Australian open into Australia.
Another great instance of mega event that have both positive and negatives impact into the
residential place is Tour De France Cycle Race. Similar to the Australian Open, also a mega
event has both prefabricated positive and impacts at certain extension. The key positive

impact of Tour De France is it increases the tourism opportunities of entire France at a much
greater extension. People who really want to visit France reasons can get several benefits
through the help of Tour De France since it will open the door of France in front of entire
France. In addition to that, the government of France articulate different benefits regarding
travel and tourism during the mega event of Tour De France. It automatically helps different
tourists to be cost efficient. In addition to that, Tour De France can help to increase the
popularity and awareness regarding cycling at greater extension, which is also a positive
impact of that global mega event (Andreff, 2016). Cycling is a very good exercise and it
helps to reduce the fat level of any person. Thus, spreading out the advertisement of cycling
can be considered as a positive impact of Tour De France at a far greater extension.
In addition, with all of these positive impacts, Tour De France can also increase the listening
and speaking presentation of the people belonging from France. It is a very important positive
impact since the quality of conversation can be enhanced through the help of Tour De France.
The quality of road surfaces from the perspective of France can also be enhanced due to the
positive impact of Tour De France. It is not possible to conduct cycle race without having
good and clean surface. Thus, the government of France enhance the quality of their roads to
conduct Tour De France, which ultimately the local residents of France at a far greater and
bigger extension. The local business authorities can also get several benefits through the
prefabricated help of Tour De France. Their business can be enhanced through the help of
that mega event. The need to local products and services generally being increased during the

economical aspect of travel and tourism can be enhanced several times through the

However, there are also some negative impacts of Tour De France, which cannot be
minimized by simple means. The entire environmental aspect of France can experience
negative impact due to the mega event of Tour De France. Since lots of tourist visit France to
be an active part of Tour De France, the environmental sustainability of France has been
affected negatively. In addition to that, public transports have been misused during the mega
event of Tour De France. It can be considered as one of the most important negative effect of
Tour De France at certain extension. In addition to that, it has been experienced through
different instances that a large portion of general people belonging from France is not
satisfied with the mega event of Tour De France. They think that their money is being used in
an unethical way during the mega event of Tour De France, which decrease the satisfactory
level of those local residents.
Another great instance of a mega event is World Cup football, which happens every four year
and it take place in different continents of this world. Just like the other major events, the
FIFA World Cup also has some prefabricated positive and negative impact. World Cup
Football can create lots of job opportunities, which can be considered as the most important
positive impact of this specific mega event at certain extension. It has been observed from
different instances that World Cup Football can create more than 0.5 million job in different
sectors including travel and tourism sector. Additionally, different business sectors like taxi
service, hotel industry and others can get several benefits out of World Cup Football
(Hassanian‐Moghaddam et al., 2018). However, the most significance disadvantage of World
Cup Football is it misuse public money, which can be utilized for children well being and
other social works.

Conclusion
After analysing this entire study, it can be concluded that Australian Open, Tour De France
and World Cup Football have several positive and negative impacts. All of those mega events
enhance the profitability of travel and tourism sector at a far greater extension, which
ultimately helps to shape out the economical aspect of any society. Additionally, it can also
be concluded after assessing the entire study that the GDP of a country can be increased at
several extensions if that country arranges some form of mega event. However, those mega
events have several negative impacts into the environmental sustainability. Lastly, public
transports are not being used effectively during those mega events, which is a negative
impact of mega events.
