1NURSING ASSIGNMENT
Answer 1
World Health Organization (2014) determines that mental health is a state of wellbeing in
which each aspect of holistic health is addressed. Mental health nurse plays an important role to
restore the mental, emotional and psychological wellbeing. However, there are circumstances in
which mental health nursing professionals fail to understand the values and philosophies of the
care process. If I face situation within facility, the standard 1 of standard of practice could help
me to maintain the dignity and standard of care process (ACMHN, 2019). This is because this
standard helps the nursing professional to understand the diversity, in culture, preference, and
behavior and belief system and promotes non-discriminatory and collaborative care process
(Cleary et al., 2018).
Answer 2
In the recent times, recovery has been seen as a primary outcome of mental health
treatment, due to which evidence based practices are carried out for care interventions. In this
aspect, client and carer perspective becomes an important factor which helps to understand the
needs of clients and then addresses them by involving them in the decision making process
(Katsikitis et al., 2017). Further, it opens dialogues between both the primary stakeholders which
increases the efficiency of care and provide the patient with accurate care to improve his/her
mental and emotional health (Cleary et al., 2018)
