The purpose of this paper is to create a cause and effect essay regarding the impacts of
cyber bullying on the mental health of the children and young adults. The cause of the recent
deterioration in the health conditions of the children have somewhat appeared from the fact that
they have become victims of cyber bullying and it has left a huge impact on their health (Hamm
et al.: 775). Researchers are of the opinion that the cyber bullying in school and society has been
the main reason why children are becoming more introvert and depressed in the recent times.
Thesis statement: The negative implications of cyber bullying have caused the imact on the
mental health of the children in the recent times.
The impacts of the cyber bullying have been studied by many psychology experts all
around the world. Most of them have concluded the issue at the point that this is one of the major
reasons why the parents are quite fearful nowadays to send their children to the schools. At the
foremost section, one must develop the idea of cyber bullying and how it will create the impact
on the lives of the common people including their little school going children (Hamm et al.:
775). This is very crucially linked to the poor conditions of the mental health. Thereafter, it has
cause the lack of concentration in studies for the children. The impact of this scenario has
reflected in their poor grades. There is no point in blaming those little children for the poor

grades they have earned in their examinations. The abuse of the children seems to hurt all the
children and it is the responsibility to protect these children from all kinds of social abuse. This
cyber bullying is so harmful in its effect that children cannot hide. If they are targeted, they will
definitely become its victims indeed (Van Geel, Vedder and Tanilon: 440).
Accordingly, some studies have found out that the children who are tortured through
bullying by their peers succumb to poor mental health conditions. They lose their mental focus
and ambition to be successful in their future career. This is very fearsome because the results
from the research have underlined the fact that the development of children hampers more than
the adults if they are tortured or bullied (Van Geel, Vedder and Tanilon: 440). This is why it is
quite at par with the thesis statement that cyber bullying will cause severe mental stress among
the children in many cases. These cases of cyber bullying are growing more than ever and it is
time for the society to unite and raise voices against it. In order to bring this practice to a
screeching halt, all the parents and the government must take up the positive policies through
which proper steps could be taken (Modecki et al. 605).
As a result of the cyber bullying, children develop several issues like emotional and
psychological trauma. They feel to be in traumatic conditions where it is very difficult to
overcome. The parents must be cautious about their children in all the forms (Navarro: 50). The
impact of this cyber bullying has reached so far that some of these children have gone to commit
the suicide. This is definitely a very stressful condition and the negative effects of this cyber
bullying have been rising every single day (Hinduja and Patchin: 30). Another fact has been
located in this scenario i.e. the involvement of the victimized children into the process. The cause
for this may be noted as their psychological trauma and they have gone through certain pathetic

conditions in their lives. Consequently, they get a sadistic pleasure in this context when they
impose the similar kind of tortures on the mental health of the other children.
This cause of the cyber bullying has been rising in the recent times and it is a duty of the
entire responsible citizen to take the charge to put the stop to it (Hinduja and Patchin: 30). The
social workers and the people of the law enforcement have been trying to make the proper
arrangements so this issue can be curbed down and kept under the proper control. Otherwise, it
will become very difficult to stop the ill effects of this practice (Ann et al, 37). The mental health
of the school children should be protected by the government through their policies.
In the conclusion, it should be mentioned that this cause and effect essay has brought
forth the evil impacts of the cyber bullying among the children as the most derogatory practice in
the society today. The effects of cyber bullying have led to the poor mental health of the children
that must be stopped.
