Introduction
Mental health refers to condition of an individual in which they remain, emotionally,
psychologically and socially well being as it impacts on their ability to think, feel as well as take
action. There are different types of mental patients observed in mental asylums who were
suffering from various psychological problems and these issues depends upon causes of the same
(Richards and Bergin, 2014). However, a person get mentally disturbed due to specific situation
or sudden activity which effects mental peace of an individual in deep manner and leads to a
psychological disorder. This research will focus on ways to control own mental health of people
working in mental health sector and deal with psychological patients on regular basis.
Background of the Research
The working professionals in mental hospitals are required to have strong mind set and
stable emotions while dealing with patient in respect of providing effective medication to them
for their well being. It involves the ways to maintain own mental stability which helps to deal
with mental people because they become violent many times and take injurious steps due which
professionals get injured. This research is based on Nightingale Hospital of London having well
trained psychologists and other medical staff in respect of providing desired facilities. This
research is based on Nightingale Hospital of London having well trained psychologists and other
medical staff in respect of providing appropriate care or medication to patients.. It will includes
the concept of maintaining mental health of workers in mental asylums in order to deal with
psychological patients (Townsend and Morgan, 2017).
Rational of the Research

necessary for them to remain focussed while dealing with mental patients in order to provide
appropriate treatment or mediation for their well being. The given research is carrying out to

Literature Review

which helps to make appropriate conclusions of research. It involves the criteria to describe,
summarise, evaluate and clarify views in study. However, it involves the concept of mental
stability of medical professionals who are working in mental hospitals in order to deal with
psychological patients in proper manner. They are required to faced their violent behaviour and
necessary to provide medication in appropriate way to make them disease free. It involves ways
to maintain psychological stability of an individual which helps to deal with mental patients in
desired manner (Grob, 2014). In addition to this, medical professionals working in mental
hospitals are required to make themselves psychologically stable because it impacts ion their
performance while they provide desired medication or treatment to patients in terms of make
them mentally well being. Meanwhile, it is very dangerous for professionals to deal with mental

patients as they become violent many times in order harm doctors or themselves according to
their psychological disorder.
Research Methodology
Research methodology includes several effective methods or techniques which can be
used to conduct research project in appropriate manner. It involves various kinds of procedures
to collect information and other methods to analyse desired articles in order to make proper
conclusions. However, it involves research philosophy which is belief of methods used for
gathering, analysed and utilised information in overall research. It is of three types of like
positivism, realism and intrepretivism in which intrepretivism is preferred in given research.
Moreover, quantitative and qualitative approach are used in research projects but qualitative
method is applied here. Random sampling method is used for collection of sample and conduct
proper data analysis through questionnaire.
Limitations of the Study
There are several limitations of study in collecting appropriate information about
particular topic (Halpern, 2014). It include insufficient secondary resources for gathering desired
data and primary method for collecting information is time consuming as well as people are not
able to provide proper opinions about topic. Moreover, it involves several legislations which
create barrier to take accurate information which impacts in conclusions of overall research
project. In addition to this, less time is provided to conduct research which create problems to
conduct proper searching in required area of study and reduce accuracy of results.
Overcoming Limitations of the Study
The issues of gathering inaccurate data can be solved by taking suggestions and from
senior researcher who have already done project in same field. They are efficiently capable to
provide appropriate suggestions and information which render support to make proper
conclusions. However, recommendations for senior researcher will give accurate information
based on their knowledge and experience which facilitate to make accurate results of research
and overcoming from problem of collecting data from primary or secondary resources.

necessary for them to maintain mental stability and avoid stress because their mental instability
results into threats in their performance. However, the present research will focus on to
determine mental stability of people working in mental asylums like Nightingale hospital.
Moreover, it will also includes several causes which impacts on psychology of professionals and
impact of mental situation of psychological professionals on their performance. There are
various kinds of methods which are used to maintain stability of mind of psychological
professionals is given below.

that they become capable to spend their lives comfortably. The present research is based on
Nightingale Hospital which is an independent, accredited acute mental health hospital in Central

London and working from last 25 years. They have highly qualified
consultant psychiatrists, therapists and nurses to conduct appropriate diagnosis and provide
proper treatment to metal patients in order to solve mental problems like eating disorder,
addictions etc. The given research will focus on mental stability of professionals who deals with
psychological patients on daily basis in respect of making them disease free. It is very difficult to
deal with them because they may become violent and attack of doctors many times. However, it
is required to maintain strong mind set to provide medication for mental patients in order to
make them mentally well being. In addition to this, there are various kinds people suffering from
different disorder such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety & panic attacks, eating disorders,
personality disorder and many more severe problems which are very critical to be sort out
properly.

specific topic which is divided into two parts such as primary and secondary data collection,
however, primary method includes to adopt certain techniques for information gathering
including questionnaires, surveys, interviews and many more which are known as primary
resources of data collection. Additionally, secondary data collection involves secondary
resources for gathering relevant information such as articles, books, journals, magazines and so
on by ensuring their reliability or validity to conduct research properly. The given research will
prefer to utilise secondary resources in order to make proper conclusions (Belling and et. al.,

Sampling technique
The sampling method refers to collect sample of that replicates original population. It
involves required number of respondents facilitating to conduct research properly. It can be
classified into probabilistic and non- probabilistic sampling in which most favourable can be
used for achieving better outcomes. Probabilistic sampling refers to method of random sampling
which will be used in the given research. In addition to this, non- probabilistic sampling includes
criteria of convenience and purposive sampling techniques (Farmakas and et. al., 2014). This
research will be going to prefer random sampling by collecting sample of 30 respondents.
Data presentation & Analysis
The data analysis can be done through qualitative and quantitative means in which is
considered as success factor of research work. It is necessary to adopt correct method which is
effective as well as efficient to draw valid and reliable outcomes in proper way. However,
qualitative method considers application of qualitative means by evaluating quality factors
whereas quantitative research will focus on statically data or figures to make results accurately.
The present research will have based on qualitative method and prefer to utilise thematic analysis
in proper way (Curtis, 2016).
Reliability & validity
The reliability means reality of information and validity refers to effectiveness &
application of concluded results by conducting research in correct manner. It involves to make
proper investigation about gathered information to ensure about two factors such as reliability
and validity so that concluded outcomes of overall research project will be reliable as well as
valid.
Limitations
In context of present research, several limitations are determining about primary and
secondary resources of information. Data collection is no sufficient due to less secondary
resources where s in primary resources, people are able to provide proper views about desired
title. In addition to this, time of conduct overall procedures of research is not enough due to
which impacts on reducing accuracy of desired results (Coverdale and Long, 2015).

Overcoming Limitations
There several issues which are faced but they can overcome by taking proper suggestions
from senior researchers because they correct people to gain appropriate guidance as well as

mental disorders which are treated by efficient psychiatrist but some of them are mostly

Interpretation – The above graphical representation shows that 12 respondents feel scared while
dealing with mental patients because they may attack care takers and some of them are extremely
violent. At the other hand, rest of 18 people become used to violent behaviour of patients and
feel comfortable to control them along with providing appropriate treatment for their welfare.
Chapter 5: Conclusions & Recommendations
From the above research, it has been analysed that mental health can be described as a
medical situation in which an individual remains emotionally, psychologically and socially well-
being. It includes requirement of mental stability of professionals working in mental health care
sector as they should perform their task with proper concentration to gain better outcomes.
However, it involves cause of their mental instability including excess work load, lack of desired
equipment and extremely violent behaviour of patients. Moreover, they can maintain their peace
of mind by meditation and relaxing it by other means.
The above discussion provides information about importance of mental stability of
professionals working in mental health care to focus on their work. It has been recommended
that organisations make policies of providing relaxation period in terms of leaves, tours and other
events which make medical professionals’ mind free for certain duration of time (Montano and
et. al., 2017). Additionally, it is necessary for professionals to put efforts on their own level by
doing meditation regularly and other activities for maintaining their mental peace respectively.
