Sarah was feeling sad or down, angry, withdrawal from friends and activities, and
problems in sleeping.
Sarah’s co-workers were planning an activity on weekend so invited her but she refused
to come. They were worried about her but they should try to reach out to her and talk to
her about it.
The manager approached to Sarah in a very friendly manner. He managed and supported
her with mental distress; quickly responded to the problem, discussed it with her and
gave solutions. He developed a work plan, supported her efforts to get help and tried to
promote a psychological safe work environment.
Sarah’s manager utilized an integrated approach- a combination of 3 different
approaches.
1. Defend psychological health by dropping work–related risk aspects- it counteract the
amount of job-related psychological comfort problems; planning to diminish work
tensions by adjusting the activity or the workplace.
2. Promote psychological well-being by mounting the constructive parts of work and
worker’s power and optimistic capability- it is ‘labor-directed’; expects to alter how

3. Concentrate on psychological well being among operational people despite of

and meditation techniques to her, so she could relax and able to sleep properly.
If Sarah was resistance to my suggestions than I might have called her family or close
friend. I would tell them the whole situation and ask them to help Sarah.
