Research audience for the EBP proposal:
As the EBP proposal focus on reducing risk of mental illness like suicide ideation and
depression in military veterans by the use of mindfulness based cognitive therapy, the target
audience for this proposal includes military veterans, military department staffs, mental health
professionals and mental health counsellors. These audiences are directly or indirectly influenced
by the proposal topic. Hence, it is planned that the research findings reach these target groups so
that their perspective on management of mental illness like PTSD and depression among military
veterans can be changed and they seek the right service to help military veterans suffering from
such issues.
Method of disseminating the proposal:
To disseminate the findings of the proposal, it is planned to develop a pamphlet with
short summary about the research process, aim, intervention and key findings. This pamphlet
will be distributed to all military based organizations, mental health clinic and centres working
for the health and well-being of the military veterans. This will help to understand to disseminate
the findings of the EBP proposal to the target audience. Apart from distribution of pamphlet,
another strategy that will be used to disseminate the EBP proposal includes the implementation
of the research in seminars in various mental health research centres and military bases. The
main advantage of using seminar for dissemination of finding is that it provides a large platform
where important dignitaries from the field of research and mental health care can get information
regarding the research findings (Green & Thorogood, 2018).
