Goals
Establishing benchmarks, formulation of guidelines and good practice exchange

To ensure that there is a significant reduction in mental illness cases across the region.
To promote proper forms of treatment and therapies for the mentally ill.
To establish holistic strategies that adolescents and children can use to improve and maintain
mental health.
To identify maximum ways to enhance and support a holistic mental health approach.
Mental illness can be addressed holistically using many approaches. One if the approaches is
whereby, the practitioners evaluate the patients’ health picture completely and perform an
examination on how all the body systems connect before finally determining a healing plan.

The second approach will involve dietary changes which calls for eating more non- processed,
fruits, more fruits and vegetables and fewer grains. Supplements will be used to enrich nutrients
to balance the body chemistry. It will also involve advocating for lifestyle change by walking
every day for thirty minutes instead of sitting for a long time. According to Vigo, Thornicroft
and Atun (2016), eating plenty of vegetables alongside every meal is beneficial and prevents
mood swings and give healthy nutrients to the brain for proper functioning of the brain.
The last approach is enhancing education and teaching people on the need for meditation and
brain working. Emotions can be positive and those are the ones that should fill the brain al the
time. there will be a need to educate the people on the need to have positive emotions like joy,
love and peace Jacob, 2015).
