INTRODUCTION
Well-being is the experience of health, happiness and prosperity or else, it is all about
having a good mental health and high life satisfaction and people know how to manage the stress
(Atkinson, Fuller and Painter, 2016). So, it is a fundamental of an overall health that help to
overcome difficulties and attain what they want out of life. Also, there are seven principle of
well-being such that
ï‚· Maximize access and inclusion, in which extra efforts should be provided in order to
make sure that health and well-being services are accessible.
ï‚· Focus on outcomes, Wellness outcomes should be focused while designing and
developing the practices to the people.
ï‚· Evidence-informed and reflective practices, an effective improving outcome should be
inform policy making and professional practice.
ï‚· Holistic approach, It refers to the linkage between the service and multidisciplinary
professional practice which is pursued to meet the need.
ï‚· Person centred and family sensitive practice, People are seen in the context of their
families so that they may easily sustain the life happily.
ï‚· Partnership with families and communities, partners are selected so that they also
provide a healthy lives to people.
ï‚· Culture competence, Efforts are made in order to communicate with people who belongs
to different culture and also recognize one's view.
ï‚· Commitment to excellence, it refers to the high expectation in which professional assess
their own work practices.
People with mental health issues also suffered lot with an emergence of COVID-19
because government take sudden action of lockdown and as per the world level, there is an
increasing number of death which also affect the entire health and well-being in negative
manner. Such that at national level, UK WHO also state that there is a adverse impact of all the
people especially to older people and people with underlying health condition. Therefore at
global level, due to this pandemic disease, entire world is affected and as a result, people who
are already suffering from the mental issue are also depressed and creates anxiety which in turn
affect the overall health in opposite manner. Therefore, at global level, there are top countries
where Corona virus is highly affected and lacs of people died and this affect the entire

population mental health in negative manner like, levels of loneliness, depression and suicidal
behavior. Hence, it is clearly identified that at global and national trend, the impact of people
with mental issue is affected in negative manner.
Discussing well-being people with mental issue
Well-being and mental heath is correlated with each other such that it is correlated with
depression and anxiety which is link with low level of well-being. But with an emergence of
sociological issue, the well-being people with mental issue is also increases such that stigma and
discrimination is directly affect the mental health people and also delay the recovery of a people.
Such that with the pandemic disease, COVID-19, variety of people are also suffering from the
mental issue and if the person is suffering from the disease, they are isolated and due to social
isolation it is directly affected the mental ill health and trap in a cycle of illness as well (Slade,
Oades and Jarden, 2017).
On the other side, the sociological issue is not getting proper social support which further
increase the mental health risk and outcomes which directly affect the people health in negative
manner. Hence, if a person do not get proper support from their families and societies, they are
definitely affect the overall health in opposite manner. In the case of disease, when almost entire
world is lockdown and in this situation, many people faces variety of issue and this in turn leads
to create opposite impact upon their mind.

As it is clearly examine by the secondary research that most of the people faces mental
illness and some of the common issue are frustration, irritability, anger and sadness. This all in
turn affect the overall mental health in opposite manner. That is why, there is a need to
overcome from these issue so that it will lead to enhance the well-being of a people. Such that
under COVID- 19 situation, people should maintain day to day activities and a routine in an
effective manner so that it will assist to stay happy (Hall and et.al., 2016). It is so because having
a healthy routine means get a positive impact on thoughts and feelings which directly help to
decrease the mental stress up to some level. On the other side, another measure can be used
during this pandemic time for the older people that they share the old stories to the young
generation in order to enhance the level of spirituality and togetherness. Through this, people
understand the importance of family and determine how their family support them in order to
fight against this isolation.

people are easily indulge themselves within their family members and this help to remove their

etc. While to relive from stress and anxiety most of the older age people start performing
meditation which in turn help to relieve from negative thoughts and this in turn help to examine
the actual relieve from mental issues (Robeyns, 2017). Also, spending time with families and
playing indoor games is consider the best measure to fight against the Corona virus because of
the entire world lockdown, there is no other option available.
Critically discussing these concepts in relation to people with mental health
Cuignet and et.al., (2020) stated that having a good mental mental health is a state of
well-being. Such that the concept is influenced by culture, but it is generally related to
enjoyment of a life and that is why, it is essential for every person especially who have an ability
to cope up from the stress and sadness because it will creates negative impact upon the health.
Further the concept of mental health is also refers to cognitive, behavioral as well as emotional
well- being and it is mainly affected with the relationship and physical health. Such that due to
Corona virus, most of people feel isolated and that is why, it lead to affect the mental health in
opposite manner. Thus, it is supported by the principle of well-being i.e. partnership with
families and communities. Such that it is necessary for the people to have people around us to
whom they share their views and opinion. So as per the sociological issue, the mental health of a
people is also affected and as a result, most of them took wrong decision also.
Moreover, well-being is the state of being comfortable and happy which is possible only
when people are fit physically and mentally. Therefore, happiness is an integral part of the
personal wellness and it also includes other things like fulfillment of long term goals so that they
live their life in happily. For example, due to COVID- 19, there are some old people (workers)
who are not with their families due to sudden lockdown as they are work in different countries.
So, it can be stated that with the help of combination of proper physical and mental health, a
person is known as a well-being (Bagnall and et.al., 2020). Even uses many ways in order to
promote mental well-being so that they provide enough support to the people in order to get

proper results like, connect with people, perform family sensitive services etc which in turn
assist to decrease the mental health issues up to some level.

There are several initiatives and strategies that can be used by individuals who
are suffering from acute mental health issues which affect their physical and mental well being.
These initiatives help towards enhancing the well being of patients suffering from mental health
issues, although the variety of initiatives and strategies that can be used by individuals during the
current pandemic related to Coronavirus (COVID-19) are effectively limited. The most
significant initiatives and strategies to be used by patients suffering from mental health issues,
especially the older generations of the population, with the intention to enhance their well being
are as follows:
Exercise: Exercising is one of the best strategies to enhance the well being of individuals
suffering from mental health issues. Exercising is also immensely beneficial from the physical
well being point of view, especially for older sections of the populations. Exercising has been
scientifically proven to relieve stress amongst human beings and elevate their energy levels, in
addition to generating mood boosting endorphins within the body, which effectively contribute
towards enhancing the well being of individuals suffering from mental health issues (Johansson
and et.al., 2017). This strategy is even more important for the older sections of the population as
regular physical exercise is essential for them and helps them stay fit and ready for their daily
endeavours in addition to enhancing their physical and mental well being. All of these contribute
immensely towards enhancing the overall well being of individuals suffering from mental health
issues.
Family: Another effective strategy for enhancing the well being of individuals who happen to be
suffering form mental health issues relates to spending quality time together with their families.
Personal time spent with one's family and friends is also immensely therapeutic in nature and
also contribute significantly towards enhancing an individuals overall well being. This is
especially true as the world currently battles through the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
across the globe (Brunozi and et.al., 2019). Keeping one's family close and spending some
quality time with them is one of the most effectively and simple initiatives that an elder
individual who is suffering from mental health issues can undertake towards enhancing their
overall well being.

Learning a new skill: Learning a new skill is also an effectively strategy especially for older
people who are suffering from mental health issues and wish to improve their well being Not
only does learning a new skill keep one busy, learning and gaining mastery over any skill or area
releases dopamine in our brains, which elevates our mood and makes us feel better and
competent. As learning a new skill doesn't require one to go outside and risk being infected by
the Coronavirus, it is an effective strategy.
CONCLUSION
By summing up above it has been concluded that well-being is consider an important key
aspect for all the people because it is related with physical and mental wellness of a people. As
the study concluded that in majority of the cases, older people are suffered a lot because
sometimes, they feel lonely and this is further lead to affect the mental status in adverse manner.
Also, the study concluded there are some principle which also help to get positive results. In
addition to this, study further concluded that in this pandemic disease, people took many
measures in order to get relieve from the mental stress such that playing indoor games, provide
proper time to families and learn new things.
Then study concluded the concept of well-being is directly link with the mental health
because it is a mixture of physical and mental health and if a person is suffer mentally then it
affect the entire health in opposite manner. There are various strategies and initiatives which an
individual suffering from mental health issues, especially one belonging to the elder sections of
the population can undertake in order to enhance their well being such as exercising, spending
time with family or learning a new skill.
